[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery

"As I said, the Spell Tag will either lead you to them...or the other way around.  That being said, I do know they're not on this Route.  And if they were in Snowpoint, that much would be obvious.  Route 216 would be my best guess for where they're hiding."

The elderly lady waves as Randolph turns to leave.  "Farewell!  Don't let the chill freeze you solid now!  My friend would oh so love it if that happened, and we don't want such a fate to befall you, now, do we?  Hehehehe."

Amethyst and Stymph will both be on the lookout for sure.  Stymph finds it a little difficult to fly straight whenever the winds pick up, though.

The hail continues to fall as the group transitions to traversing the open snowfields of the route.  Wild pokemon aren't known to show up often on this part of the Route, but trainers of all kinds tend to fill that void.

The snow is deep and difficult to walk through.  Grounded pokemon and humans will have a -1 Dex penalty, regardless of their typing.

Lucas leads the way, pushing through the snow as best as he can.  "We should reach the rest stop not long after this.  Traveling down this Route is hard, frigid work, and few try to push on to Route 216 without at least taking a break first, and the fact that it's a popular spot for pokemon battles doesn't help either.  Keep your wits about you until we have a chance to take a break.  We're almost there!"

Karen has an arm up to shield her face from the chilly wind.  She isn't used to this weather, but she'll quietly push through it as best as she can.

Route 217 Encounter Set 2

1. Wingull*
Cap: 2 (1)
Difficulty: Moderate
Notes: Black stormclouds follow it as it flies about the Route.  Occasional flashes of light can be seen through the falling snow around it, and the combination of the two obscure all details of the pokemon until the encounter is taken.  Wingull are also very rare to see this far away from the coastline.

Unlimited Encounters: Snover (they can be found in the treeline, particularly the one at the base of the mountain, minding their own business as long as nobody bothers them.)

(In the interest of speeding things along a little, I'm likely going to reduce the number of encounters on Routes 217 and 216 so we can get to Mt. Coronet more quickly.  Sound fair?)

(Fine by me! I'm eager to see what you've planned for the Mt. Coronet Encounters and local, so getting us there quicker is not a bad idea at all in my books!)

The mysterious old lady's lack of an answer about her 'friend's' exact wereabouts didn't hearten Ran so much, but he didn't gripe about it, only letting out a short *Sigh* , nodding and replying back to her, before hopping off the chair and heading towards the door.

"Not much to go on, but it's damn near better than having zero clues to their wereabouts at all. Suppose it's time for me to mosey on and out here, then. Thank ya for your hospitality again, mam, and I promise I'll see to it your friend will be get their head screwed back on straight no matter what. Be well, and take care. Sei gesund, pass auf dich auf, und möge Heatrans Flammen dein Zuhause und deinen Herd warm halten."
Translation: Be well, take care, and may Heatran's flames keep your home and hearth warm.

Ironically, her parting words and playful sounding warning and laughter sent a shock and bracing chill, as it perhaps gave him a dire hint as to who or what her 'friend' is, prompting him to scheduled fast from the premises and back to the group with Stymph and Amethyst with a worried scowl plastered across his face. He almost desperately hoping his intuition and gut is plain wrong about his newfound suspicion, but given his recent run of luck.....

'Gott verdammt. Tangoing with one of their kind recently already was bad enough, and now I have settle down another, MUCH more ornery and wild spirit. And if I'm wrong about my guess, then I'm right back to dealing with an unknown hazardous and likely spiritual being that's capable of who knows what. No matter which way it is, I'm in for a snow heap of trouble. ' "

"*Sighs* Wunderbar. Einfach nur wunderbar.... "

When he reunites with his compatriots, he's rather quick to update them about his meeting with the old lady in the 'Abandoned' House and the task he undertook for her, and warned them about the old lady's 'friend' and what he expects them to be.

"....And that's the rub of it. Have to find that 'woman's' 'friend' and calm them down, and then she'll tell me what in the gelid gods has been happening 'round these Routes. *Grimaces, then Sighs* ....And after puzzling over her Hazy as hell allusions to them, I figure her 'friend' is most likely a gottverdammt Frosslass or some other cold obsessed Ghost type, so watch out for them and be bloody damn careful. If you see them or anything you think is that lady's 'friend' it and they don't appear to be nicest of moods, either deal with them quickly yourself or leave them the hell alone and tell me where they are so I can. Got it?"

His reply back to Lucas is quick and relieved.

"Excellent and fantastic. If I have to struggle through this Route's blasted snow and freezing cold any longer, I'll set these fields ablaze with Brigid to chase it ALL away! *Sighs* Got to poke around for that woman's 'friend' first and for some other stuff 'fore I can get some blessed rest and warmth, though, so I'll see ya in a little while lad if nothing stop me. And remember what I told ya, you hear?"

After seeing Karen handling the cold as well as him, he'd offer her one of his spare scarfs to cover and protect her face from the cold before wandering off. He may not be on the most friendliest terms with her, but that doesn't mean he's going to ignore her or be unhelpful.

Concerning the Encounters, once Ran catches sight of that Wingull* during his search for the 'friend', he'd hustle double time through the snow after it, sending Stymph to chase after it and drive them towards him (Or Engage it in a fight, if it so chooses) and keeping Amethyst close to him all the while, just in case something else tries to sneak up on him while trying to determine what's up with the sea birdie, and if possess the traits he wants. Can never be to careful!

(Or in other words, Stymph will be Fighting Wingull* alone initially, with Amethyst serving as Ran's bodyguard or her back up the 2nd Round if things go completely pear shaped for the ironclad hawk. That's all for now!)
