I PMed Spirit earlier, @Lord Windos.  I have my own concerns with the decision, of course, both short and long term.

Spirit's thinking it over a little more.  I won't stop him if he decides to leave the game, but...I'm going to have an extra fun time figuring out how to rework stuff as everything starts falling apart (again) if he does. :/  (And also reconsidering where I may have gone wrong...)

If you want more details, feel free to ask in a PM.  Let's try and keep the bulk of any detailed discussion away from the meta thread, please.
