[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery

Sally hasn't been saying much while she's been out, unless she needs to translate for Scizor.  "...well, they do obviously look a little on edge...Sally, Scizor, you stay here.  Let me go talk to them first."

Both bipedal pokemon nod, and Lucas slowly and carefully approaches Espeon.  He purposefully scrapes one of his shoes across the ground to make a loud noise.  Espeon's ears perk up at the sound, and it slowly and quietly turns to look at Lucas.  The 18 year old raises his hands to show he's not holding any weapons or pokeballs, and carefully asks, "Is it fine if I come closer?  I'd like to help."

Espeon nudges the woman, who stirs and tries to move, but is finding it difficult to do so.  The eeveelution then looks back at Lucas, a pleading look in its eyes, then turns back to watch the water.

Lucas quickly and quietly walks over, and starts taking stock of the situation.  Soon after, he waves to everyone else to indicate they can come closer.  (which I assume Randolph does when prompted by Lucas)

From the shoreline, the lake looks even bigger.  It looks like getting across it is going to take some time.  The water is perfectly still and undisturbed, but Espeon is watching the lake as if waiting for something to happen.  It seems really tense.

As for the orange haired woman, there's a few more significant details that can be pointed out now.  She's wearing a light blue, long sleeved jacket over a purple top, a white skirt, yellow knee-high socks, and pink boots.  She looks like she's in a lot of pain, too, and can barely move.  "...ooooowwww...the...water...it's...in the water...black..."  She winces, unable to complete her sentence.

Lucas immediately turns his attention to the water as well once he hears that.  "...that doesn't sound good...it'd certainly explain why Espeon seems so on edge.  Randolph, Scizor, you help Espeon keep an eye on her.  I'm going to see if I can spot whatever it is that's hiding in this lake.  Let's go, Sally."

Lucas and Sally start patrolling the shoreline, leaving Randolph and Scizor with the woman and Espeon.

Yeap, once the champ gives the all clear, Ran and Diam relax their guard and approach the woman and her Espeon with the rest of the min-group. If the later isn't going to be flaying anyone's mind, he doesn't have much reason to stay away from them.

He's a bit unhappy that Lucas just up and leaves the mysterious duo in his hands to go patrol the lake for whatever got the ginger lass good, as he'd have liked to have a say in the matter, but he doesn't object. He just barely manage to conquer that Tyrantrum without it demolishing and/or eating a third to half his team, so a break from potentially harrowing and/or high octane Encounters is an opportunity he'll take with both hands!

Of course, that saddles him with the implicit duty of assessing and treating this woman's condition, something he's not eager to do. Partly because of the potential of setting off their empathetic companion while he looks after her, but mainly because he consider himself the last person to assign to the medical care of someone. He got his doctorate in geology, not tradition medicine, and he definitely doesn't have the right attitude for any kind of bedside care, damn it!

Still, someone has to do it, and unfortunately it has to be him this time. Taking one last look in the boy hero's direction, the bristly blacksmith closes his eyes and lets out a low, quiet *sigh* , and turns to incapacitated woman, walking over and crouching down right beside her. He then looks over to the Espeon, his expression cautiously serious, catching it's attention with a *Snap!* of his fingers if necessary.

"Espeon, I'll be looking over your Trainer, partner, whatever, and doing what I can to treat her injuries, so please don't give me a killer headache if they become vocal or pass out while I do so. If ya have any grievances with how I care for her, save them until after I've done what I can and we're all out of danger."

With that calmly and politely said, Ran will attempt a Medical Check on on the Orange Haired Woman to access her injuries/condition, spending 6 XP to increase his Medicine Specially by 1 as he wracks his brain for what little medical Knowledge he's gained over the years. Roll should be Insight + Knowledge + Medicine, or 10D6 Base Dice total.
