Scizor salutes to Randolph, and with his incredible speed, helps the woman get away from the water's edge (and the fight) in record time!
Espeon stays to fight alongside Randolph and his pokemon, hissing at the giant aquatic snake the entire time.
Gyarados isn't quite in range of attacks yet, so self buffing is gonna have to do!
Gyarados Round 0
Randolph's newly acquired siren is definitely very intimidated by the prospect of facing a ginormous Gyarados of all things, but she's going to trust Randolph on this one. The fact that she's no longer trying to survive alone helps a lot with instilling at least a little confidence in her.
Lucky Chant 1 (I think you mixed up the accuracies for Sing and Lucky Chant, btw.)
(6)(2)(4)(2)(6)(4)(2)
A protective song begins to echo throughout the cavern...
As the siren sings her song
Sending a plea to the seas
Rough waters end the calm
Where still water used to be
Whirlpool 2 (this is a good idea, given the situation! It won't do damage right now, but Gyarados is headed right for it and not stopping!)
(6)(5)(1)
Gyarados will be trapped when it arrives!
Diam cracks her neck and knuckles as she begins Mega Evolving. Time to get down and dirty, weeheehee!
Calm Mind 1
(4)(3)(4)(3)(6)(3)(4)(4)
+1 Special and Sp. Def for Diam!
Now that she has a giant crystal to look through like a lens and a focused mind to think with, let's see just what exactly we're facing...
Foresight 2
(4)(4)(3)(2)(6)
Gyarados was identified!
Diam starts as she looks through her crystal at Gyarados. She has to peer through it again just to be sure...but once she's certain, she lets Randolph take a look, a worried look on her face for once.
Without the crystal, all Randolph sees is a big, scary fish. But with the crystal...yup, there it is. He can see it now. A black aura that looks almost like a dark shadow surrounding the pokemon, invisible to the naked eye.
It's ominous looking, to say the least. And that Gyarados looks rather crazed now that Randolph's taking a closer look at it...
Espeon begins setting up perimeter defenses. It seems to be incredibly well trained.
Future Sight 1
12 - 2 = 10
(5)(6)(4)(3)(4)(6)(5)(3)(2)(1)
This is gonna hurt when it hits! Crit!
Reflect 2
(6)(1)(3)(2)(2)(1)(3)(5)
Light Screen 3
(4)(4)(2)(4)(1)(1)
*schwing!* Two protective barriers, first class delivery!
Espeon calmly begins pacing as it waits for its opponent to arrive. Randolph gets the sense that it's familiar with dealing with these kinds of situations.
Selkid watches the giant pokemon nervously, but maintains her concentration on the Whirlpool.
Diam grimly stares it down, glancing through her crystal every so often to double and triple check that she isn't seeing things...
...and then the Gyarados charges straight at the shore, completely heedless of the whirlpool, roaring! It sounds almost as crazed as a Mega Gyarados even though it's clearly a normal one!
Initiatives
Espeon: (5) + 8 = 13
Selkid: (4) + 9 = 13
Gyarados: (2) + 10 = 12
Diam: (3) + 6* = 9
Wait, that's weird. Why are both Selkid and Gyarados almost faster than the seemingly well trained Espeon? Heck, even Diam could probably keep up with them somehow if she wasn't Mega Evolved. Well, no time to think about it right now! Gyarados's Intimidate lowers the Attack of all of its opponents by 1 as it looms threateningly over Randolph and the pokemon accompanying him!
