Nooooooo not Hidden Power!!!
While the Comp.Scene might not miss the other removed moves, I probably would still because I usually enjoy rarely-used and unique moves.
I currently have no plans to use the major battle mechanic of Gen 8, Dynamaxing (which is basically Megas plus Z moves in one package for 3 turns only. Gen 8 has neither of those mechanics present individually). It wouldn't make sense for the story I planned.
IF I used stuff from Gen 8, it would mostly be new moves and pokemon that were introduced in it. Funnily enough, one of them would actually be something Roxie would probably be interested in personally: a punk rock themed pokemon called Toxtricity.

On the flip side, the removal of Hidden Power and the ease of changing the effects of a pokemon's nature (yes, you can do that now), changes to egg move breeding mechanics, and ease of getting pokemon to level 100 means that you can now make any pokemon competitively viable in Gen 8 with enough work (and it almost eliminates the need for pokemon breeding. It's still an option, of course, and it's arguably easier to breed for a nature than it is to change a nature's effects).
Serebii has a full list of the moves that were removed if you want to take a look at it. It can be found here.
