The portal Giratina came through is in the sky, so no need to worry about getting accidentally knocked into it, as the odds of that happening are incredibly slim.

Oh yes, one more thing: while in their Altered Forme, Giratina can act as Full Cover for anyone that wishes to hide behind them, taking all ranged attacks that the covered pokemon would have.  However, Giratina is just as large as Dialga is, so it'll be near impossible to attack Dialga while taking cover behind Altered Giratina.

Altered Giratina is large enough to fully cover up to 3 medium sized pokemon at the same time.

If/when Giratina shifts into its Origin forme, the option to use them as Cover will not be available, as they are much more mobile in Origin forme than Altered.
