It's an obscure piece of information about the Dynamax phenomenon, mentioned only by the player character's mother in Sword and Shield's post game.  It's not a topic that's widely talked about.

Apparently, Professor Magnolia's research on Dynamax suggests that Dmax and Gmax mons are not actually giant pokemon, but illusory projections caused by the power of the Wishing Stars used to trigger the phenomenon when the conditions are right.

That doesn't make the massively powerful attacks with wide ranging effects any less real, though.  *shrug*

Thats bulshit. If the giant is illusions, then why the Max attacks looks so real? And if I remember, in the anime, during Dynamax battles, there is some kind of barrier to protect the audience from possible power.

I think it's another case of laze writing from Gamefreak again. Another advantage to Mega Evolution. A little question though: Why Dynamax you can only do in PvP battles and Gym battles? Shouldn't be possible to Dynamax in other places?
