's long 'sthey don't pose a huge threat for us, me thinks it's better if we just follow our way while they follow theirs...." Then he smiles again slyly and mischievously, almost aggressively. "IF they d'cide to jump at us, I'll just likewise jump at 'em."

Mechanically, that means that Kee prefers to just move on ahead the path they didn't take before at the fork. Every now and then he'll gaze over his shoulder and smell the air in an attempt to see whether 'they' are following.
