[Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows
(04-22-2020, 12:13 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: The chipped off crystals obtained and Boldore's fate decided, it's time to move on!  Marcus beckons everyone to follow him, and they slowly climb down the branches of the tall tree together until they reach the bottom of the cliff.

The end of the Dry Forest is only a short distance away, and nothing stands between the group and freedom.

Success!: Mission Success - Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of T/D/S

The group reached the end of Dry Forest!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone walks for awhile, following Marcus's lead.  The landscape is rather barren aside from the occasional tree.  Large rocks and mountains dot the landscape more frequently in the distance.

Eventually, though, everyone senses a change in the air.  It...smells different.

It smells...like the ocean.

Marcus breathes it in, enjoying it.  "Ah, the sweet, sweet smell of home.  We're almost there.  Come on!"

Marcus leads the group through a gap between two of the larger rocks and mountains they'd been advancing towards.

And once they're through, that's when everyone sees it.  A small town nestled in a coastal valley.  Pokemon of all kinds roam the streets, though it's primarily desert dwellers that call it home.  A Sandslash and a Hippowdon appear to be chatting about something.  A Gallade, Rhyperior, and Roserade are talking with two Kecleon over a counter while examining apples, berries, and strange blue orbs.  A Lapras waits at the end of a wooden pier that stretches into the vast ocean behind the town.  A Hawlucha poses in a very colorful stand shaped like its head as strangers pass by.  A Flygon soars overhead.

And behind it all, in the distance, everyone sees a massive tree growing in the middle of the ocean, its branches completely covered with innumerable leaves.  It's clearly full of life, even at such a large distance, and its size defies all description as it stretches up towards the setting sun, almost dwarfing the size of the horizon.

Marcus looks at it all proudly.

"Welcome to Sahra Town, everyone.  One of the few habitable places on the Sand Continent."

End of Chapter 0: Introduction
Dax stared at the town. The town looked very interesting and he'd definitely want to check some of the attractions out. The heat was getting to him a little though. Perhaps he could go for a swim in the sea a little later that evening?

"Let me show you guys around the place.  Don't let all the sand and dust fool ya.  It's quite lively!"

Marcus eagerly begins leading the way into the town itself, but the group is soon brought to a halt when that Flygon that had been soaring overhead spots them and swoops down to land in front of the group.  They hold a hand out in front of them in the universal gesture for 'STOP'.  They speak with a very stereotypical wild west accent.

"Now hold on there, partners.  Where do you think you're going?  Nobody goes in or out of this town without me knowing."

Marcus rolls his eyes.  "Sheriff, honestly.  It's me, Marcus.  I live here.  Just came back from some scavenging for my business."

The sheriff stares at everyone besides Marcus with narrowed eyes and crosses his arms.  "And your friends here?  How do I know they're not going to cause trouble in the town?"

"I found them lost in the Dry Forest.  They're good folk.  We had to get past some trouble makers on the way here, and I certainly wouldn't have been able to do so on my own.  A rubble of territorial Roggenrola seem to have made their home in the Dry Forest recently.  Would have been stuck there if these guys hadn't come along."

Flygon looks curiously at Marcus.  "Roggenrola?  In the Dry Forest?  Odd...well, I'll trust your word for now, Marcus.  But if I catch any of these strangers causing trouble in my town, you're going to be staring at bars too."

Marcus chuckles, not seeming to take the sheriff's threat seriously.  "Fine, fine.  We really must be on our way, Sheriff.  You have a good day."

"Hmph."

Flygon takes off, going back to patrolling the town from the skies.  As Marcus watches the Dragon take off again, he realizes the sun is hanging low in the sky, most of the residents seem to be clearing off the streets, and the shops are starting to close for the day.

"...ah, shoot.  Looks like it's getting rather late.  Well, you guys want to call it a day?  I've got an extra room at my place, so you're welcome to stay there if you like.  I can give you all the tour tomorrow morning."

He decided he really would like that swim before tucking in at Marcus's home. He decided to ask the Cubone.
"Wow, that Flygon is a complete asshole. Marcus, your place isn't anywhere near the ocean by any chance? It'd give me a chance to cool off. I'm not exactly dying of thirst, but the heat is hitting me a little harder than it would hit you. I might be able to find some food that a weird Charmander like me would eat. It's cool if it's not though. I can check it out in the morning."
I'm no one special. Also, here's a pupper pic:
