Nathan's made it a point to recall Gallade to his pokeball for safety reasons.  The trainer came prepared for this eventuality, though, and has his Metang accompanying him.  He's likely more familiar with what happened in Tandor than most of those present, so he makes it a point to give some advice.  "If we're dealing with Nuclear energy, then it's probably advisable to use Steel type pokemon primarily if you have any on hand.  Steel's not as affected by the radiation as other types are.  Don't want any of our pokemon to be adversely affected if we can avoid it..."

Aside from that, he's still following Shiva's lead for the most part, casting wary glances at various corners, trying to keep an eye out for danger before it strikes.
