It might be possible to dig under the rock or loosen it to unblock the path, but neither Pyra nor Daxter are very well equipped for digging right now, so doing so would likely take longer than just going around the rock.

The Trapinch don't appear to be holding anything, nor does anything seem to be hidden among the gravel at first glance.

When Pyra and Daxter double back to their starting point (nothing happens on the way back) and check the cave they exited from, they find that a large rock has blocked the path there, too.  The cave is completely inaccessible now.  How very strange...

The large tree that's obstructing the other route still stands as a daunting (but possibly easier) obstacle in the way of the duo's progress as well.

Welp, Pyra has zero ideas on how to get past the tree herself - well, she did have one, but it backfired spectacularly in her face - so all she can do is just peer up and stare at the great big tree in almost seething frustration, clenching and unclenching her claws all the while.

".....Back at our start and beginnings we are, and the way forward is still barred to us, yes. No further have we gone, no more have we progressed in search for our dear friend. So so so very very frustrating."

She mumbles this to herself, expressionless and without much emphasis, but somehow it was clear she was not pleased with the developments thus far. What wouldn't she do for something to take her impotent ire out on, or something to get her and Dax past this great big tree. Or both - she's not too picky at this point.


(....Yeah, I got nothing, so unless Dax has an idea to get past that I think Pyra would go for, she and them are stuck where they are. Sorry Spirit and Phantom, but you're on your own for now.)
