Laurelin is definitely up for that. She does seem torn because she (and Dagny) have a lot of ideas for modifications, but the scientifically-valuable thing to do is to revive it as-is.

But as for the fossil, yes, it should definitely be revived as is.  "Whenever you're ready, Professor.  And if it starts causing problems, my pokemon and I will do our best to subdue it quickly."
