Marcus walks forward and approaches the Forretress and Conkeldurr.

"What's the big idea?! Didn't you hear this team's leader? They're escorting me through this quarry on a mission from the guild!"
"...g-guild? You mean...that thing that Machamp...urgh...took our stone to reinforce...?"
"The very same! Why are you attacking us?! The guild isn't your enemy! They've only ever helped you as thanks for helping Machamp!"
Karen walks forward and joins the question as well, though she's definitely less angry looking than Marcus is.
"Yeah, why did you attack us? You said something about taking back what was yours? What happened?"
"...oof...we were...betrayed..."
"...betrayed? By who?"
"...by...urgh...Machamp."

Marcus and Karen are both stunned by that remark, completely unsure about what to say in response.
"...it is...the truth...outsiders...one of your own has betrayed us...and we will...fight until the last...to take back what's ours..."
Conkeldurr tries to lift himself up by using the stone pillars as a support, but he collapses, too weak to fight any further.
"...we will fight...for as long as we can stand...urgh...so if you intend to drive us out...you will have to...finish us off..."
Forretress, despite being in immense pain, glares at the party defiantly in response to Conkeldurr's words.
