Platina's Alert:
(6)(5)(3)(3) 2 successes
Platina glances at the water crashing down from the ceiling, but doesn't see an easy way to fly around it since it appears to be filling the entire width of the corridor and is very tall. So through the waterfall it is!
Kogeki's Foresight:
(5)(2)(1)(3) 1 success
Between Kogeki's almost supernatural Anticipation and his much more practical Foresight, Kogeki doesn't see or sense anything that might pose a particular danger to himself or the rest of the group. Just a really big, crashing waterfall that looks like it would hurt to try and walk through at a normal pace.
No rolls needed to set up Harden for Platina and Reflect from Espeon, so it's time to execute the plan! Kee smashes the Quick Orb, and everyone starts to glow with a subtle light as they temporarily begin to feel lighter on their feet.
The Waterfall would do 5 - Defense Water type damage to anyone attempting to walk through it at a normal pace (enough to KO or severely hurt an average NFE pokemon). The various precautions taken can each reduce the damage that would have been taken by 1.
- Platina's Harden and Espeon's Reflect both reduce damage taken by 1 guaranteed, the water buffeting against the psychic shield and Platina's tough as steel body, causing the water to impact with far less force than it normally would. The Quick Orb also reduces the damage everyone takes by 1, as they're spending less time in the waterfall than they otherwise would.
- Kogeki's Quick Attack:
(6)(6)(4)(2)(2)(2)(1) 2 successes
As Quick Attack doubles Kogeki's speed, Kogeki halves the amount of damage he would have taken from the hazard (rounded up) before any other bonuses are applied.
- Kee's Headbutt Clash:
(4)(1)(2)(3)(6)(5) 3 successes
Kee's brute force approach isn't helped as much by the Quick Orb, but with the Solar Battery charging his attack just that extra little bit, he's able to displace enough water with the attack that he's able to reduce the damage he would have already taken by an additional 1.
- Platina's Steel Wing Clash:
(4)(2)(3)(6) 2 successes
Even as unpracticed in clashing as she is, Platina's feathers are hard enough right now that it doesn't take much effort for her to batter aside the water as she tries to corkscrew through the hazard. It's not the most graceful of attempts, but it gets the job done, reducing the damage Platina would have taken by 1.
- Espeon is focusing on maintaining the Reflect, as holding back such a large volume of water seems to be demanding much of their focus.
- Umbreon decides to be a bit of a show off and simply walks through the waterfall.
Damage Taken:
Kogeki: 5/2 -> 3 - 1 Reflect - 1 Quick Orb - 2 Defense = 1 damage minimum
Kee: 5 - 2 - 1 Defense - 1 Clash = 1 damage minimum
Platina: 5 - 2 - 3 Defense - 1 Clash = 1 damage minimum
Espeon: 5 - 2 - 2 Defense = 1 damage minimum
Umbreon: 5 - 2 - 4 Defense = 1 damage minimum
Everyone gets to the other side of the waterfall, no worse for wear aside from being a little wet! Umbreon shakes the water out of his fur and gives Kee an approving nod. "Quick Orb was a good idea. Not something I think most pokemon would think to do. Not bad."
"Let's move on, shall we? If we keep up this pace, we should be able to reach the end of this Magnagate Dungeon before long."
Team OS and the eeveelutions press on through the long, waterfall lined corridor, drying off slightly and eventually coming across another portion of the path with water pouring down the sides in greater volumes than usual. This time, however, the water doesn't seem to be coming down as forcefully, and shiny pebbles appear to decorate the pathway where the larger waterfalls meet the ground.
"Well, this is rather picturesque, isn't it? The water falling, the light reflecting off of the pebbles there..."
"Yeah, yeah, eye for beauty and all, Espeon. You do remember that we can't get too attached to anything here though, right? As pretty as it is, there's no guarantee it'll be here later if we visit again since this is still a variety of Mystery Dungeon."
"*sigh*...I know, Umbreon, I know. It's always nice to see variation in a dungeon like this, though. It's not something you see often."
Umbreon crouches down low. "I, for one, think that variation in the flooring is suspicious for that exact reason. Could be a trap or something."
How does Team OS wish to proceed? There doesn't appear to be any immediate danger at first glance, and the water cascading down from above onto the shiny pebbles below doesn't seem to be posing much of a hazard by itself this time.
