Despite the barrier partially shielding Thundurus from the blow, Zeraora manages to land a solid punch to Thundurus's jaw.

The genie grimaces briefly and scowls at the electric cat.  He holds a hand aloft, and lightning begins to gather into a ball in it!

"You are strong, retainer.  But you are not strong enough!  I am the Autumn Storm!  My lightning shall destroy all that it touches!"

"No...no, I am not going to stand idly by and watch this happen..."

Braixen suddenly brandishes her stick and uses it to surround Thundurus in flame!

Thundurus just glares back at Bunnelby.  "Cheap intimidation tricks do not work on me, mortal."

Rowlet takes the opportunity to try and land a blow on Thundurus with Peck from behind since Thundurus hasn't tried to attack anyone directly yet.

Daxter forces his teeth past the crackling electricity to bite a chunk out of Thundurus's arm.  While Thundurus takes no physical damage from the attack, he instantly notices that Daxter somehow broke his barrier.

"...so it is true.  Humans once again walk among our kind!"

"Wait, humans?  You mean..."

"Well I'll be darned..."

"Save your revelations for later!  We have a battle to win!"

Snom's Powder Snow drives that point home, as it's the first regular attack that does real harm to Thundurus now that his barrier is down!

Zeraora staggers to his feet, clutching his arm in pain.  As he starts to ready himself for another attack, though, he pauses.  Something in the air...changed.

And everyone else in the party can feel it too.

The air almost feels...charged.

Thundurus roars.

"THIS ENDS NOW!"

Lightning begins to strike Thundurus's surroundings, each strike accompanied by the sound of breaking glass.  The flashes of light disorient everyone, making it difficult to tell what's up, down, left, right...

"Watch out!  I have a bad feeling about this!"

Braixen's shout comes as the lightning strikes fell three trees large enough to hide behind, and Thundurus explodes with the force of a thunderstorm that sears the bark of the unfortunate trees even further.

He roars again as one last lightning bolt strikes him directly, but this time it can be only be described as a hissing mixed with the crackle of electricity.  His long tail rattles with the sound of 1000 lightning strikes, his arms have become large; sharp claws, and his demeanor and posture have become decidedly more serpentine.

Despite being struck directly by lightning, Thundurus looks to be in near perfect condition again.  

Upon transformation, Thundurus's Volt Absorb recovers 10 HP, all negative effects currently affecting him are dispelled, and he gains +1 Special but -1 Strength and Dexterity.

The lightning strike also seems to have restored and strengthened the lightning barrier.  The lightning appears to have turned black with shadowy energy.

"I am Storm Incarnate, the Therian of Autumn!  My lightning shall shock and scar all foolish enough to stand against it!  None can control the Wildbolt Storm!"
