[Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands

INS (3) + Survival (2) + Alert (2) - Location (2) - Rissy Vibe (1) - No Leads (1) = 3D6 Dice
(6)(2)(4) 2 Successes

Not much word to be had about getting yourself a whale of a Pokemon around here, especially from the locals who scoff at your attemtps to get info out of them, but you do manage to get a small Lead from a fisherman on a shopping trip - The Deep Sea Diving businesses or the Marina Fleet might be avenues to finding yourself that Mon, as Wailmers tend to either be far out at sea and/or located in the depths. Looks like you'll have to do some scrounging around there and sleuthing/socializing to see you'll get your chance to see an Oran of the Seas...

"Not sure why you're bothering with one of those behemoths, mate. Sure, their Size is great, and if you can grow them up to a Wailord they're almost impossible to wear out, but they're not exactly suited for the Land or most places ya can Battle in. Being Big also makes ya a more attractive target to swarms of Wild critters looking for their next juicy meal. Ah, but what do I know? I just like catching the small fishies and Mons, not any of those water fiends of huge monsters of the deep!" is what the fisherman says to you before you part ways. They're also open to a 1v1 Battle with their Staryu, citing they want to toughen them up a bit to be a more reliable Illuminate Lure for him, but if perfectly fine if the offer is declined.

"Thank you so much! Are you saying the Wailmer around here are huge? The ones we've heard about where I come from are only about 6'. Which I suppose is bigger than the average fishie, but I wouldn't call it a behemoth."

Vernon, who is visibly carrying a Grass type under one arm, agrees to a battle to help the Staryu.

"I find Pokemon - or their trainers - try their hardest when something is 'on the line', so to speak. Shall we say, $1000? And if I win, we have to trade phone numbers and you let me know if you hear anything about Wailmer, and I'm allowed to text you every now and then to ask about Water types."
Vernon will also agree to any lower counteroffer, he's not really in it for the money.

He's also not a jerk. He keeps Grass-type Turtwig tucked under one arm and sends the heavily-booted Munchlax out as his 1v1 Pokemon. Turtwig stays nice and calm throughout the battle, completely zen no matter what crazy things are happening around him. And he knows how to hold on to Vernon with a little side-hug and a piece of sleeve clutched in his beak, so as not to distract Vernon, who tends to run around a lot during battle.

Initiative: 2 Dex + 2 Survival + 2 Alert
Ability: Pickup

Throughout all this, Turtwig just calmly finishes his grass stem and waits for Vernon to get a free moment to hand him another one. (Vernon runs in circles looking for the best angle, like a referee at a wrestling match).
