Seddi will look at his watch before giving the Espeon a long, hard stare.

"Well now, who'd ya pick that word up from?"

He relaxes physically, though he's being extremely careful with his thoughts again.  "Well, no matter.  Paradox Pokemon aren't a big secret 'round these parts anyways.  You won't hear locals callin' them that, though.  It's just what us folks from Paldea call the critters.  The short explanation is that they're pokemon that defy modern understandin'.  Primal beasts that look like they could have jumped out of ancient history books or robots with advanced sentient AIs beyond any modern inventor's skills.  Far as Paldea's scientific community knows, they shouldn't exist, and yet they do.  That is why we call them Paradoxes."

After pausing to let that sink in, Seddi continues by responding to the latter request.

"You want to know more, I'm goin' to need a little more info on where you're from and what you're doin' here. You and Randy may be nice folk at first glance, but everyone workin' with the Professor and I needs to go through a simple background check first.  Our research on Paradox Pokemon is highly sensitive."

And Seddi very purposefully communicates this last part mentally instead of our loud.

[Especially if ya want to properly meet my top secret partner.  Can't have her make an appearance without good reason.]

Well...he's open to the idea of filling Sylvia in, provided his conditions are met.  This is a far cry from how friendly he was yesterday, though.  He's more obviously on guard, even more particular with his words.

With international comms down, an actual background check could take awhile to verify though.  If Sylvia has some credentials that Seddi would recognize and could verify, however...
