Hey everyone. It's been....quite some time since I posted, huh?
....Yeah, let's get this out of the way: I've been a no-show on the forums for the past quarter year or so. I dropped off the face of the earth without warning for most of you, and things have been in a lurch since then. Hopefully you all have been having a relatively good time, because me....well, suffice to say I have very little love and tolerance left for pharmacy school. Honestly I'd leave if I was not already swimming in debt - alas, I remain so I can hopefully get a job that can allow me to live with it.
Anyhow, all that stress of school and the politics of going there has left me in a bit of a poor mood, to put it lightly. I've been feeling demotivated for quite some time in my creative pursuits, and my attitude towards others has been....not the greatest. So I decided early on to disconnect from the forums to spare everyone my piss poor attitude and any sporadic updates, and focus on muddling through my first semester back and see how it went.
And it went...relatively well, all things told. Still go a few things left to do, but I've passed this half - all's left is other, and then I'm off to rotations for a year. My mood is still....not great, but this news and the abundence of free time I'll be having in the near future has bolstered my spirits enough to give running my campaign another go - at least for a little while. So rejoice - we'll have some fun on the forums once more, no matter how brief that may be!
On that note, I got a few things I want to discuss about the Campaign itself:
- First, I've been having second thoughts on throwing that Super Boss at you, at least this early in the game. The intro is all about getting people settled and guide them through the openning act of my campaign, but I have realized I may have let my zest for spectacle get the better of me here. Plus like half of my players couldn't/wouldn't be participating due to being underleveled and/or grossly outmatched at this point in the game due to their character level - hardly a good thing, in retrospect.
So, I make this offer - I can rework things so that nobody has to tackle the Super Boss in the near future if they wish to do other things/not have it loom over their heads in the mean time. It'll take a bit of work, but it can be done!
- Since the holiday season is upon us, I have an idea were we could have a Christmas Themed 'mini-campaign' within Wild Lands. In game it'd only take about a day or two for it to complete, and I think it'd be a tidy way of easing everyone back into the game after such a long stay of it. What do you guys think?
- Going forward, I'm probably going have to decrease the overall effort and quality of my campaign if I want to make consistent updates outside of the holidays and during my school time, just to be able to do it at all on top of my workload. This includes minimizing characterization, putting hard battle limits (as in one Trainer Battle per day or so per PC, bar exceptions), and emphasizing more Encounters based on RP or simple dice rolls as opposed to my usual fare. It's not...great, but sacrifices will have to be made if I want to continue my campaign without driving myself pair juggling it and every other hobby and task I got loading down my plate.
That's all for now, mates. Once more, I hope you've all been well, and that this month of December can put a lot of holly-jolly in us all!

Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
