From there it devolves in a messy Brawl, as each side tries it's darnest to get one up on the other!

The walking bopping machine lets out a ragged breath as he stared down his fallen opponent, his entire body quivering with the sheer exertion of such a dogged Fight. Then, slowly, it turns to look at you. Not with violence in its eyes, but....assessment.

....It nods it head towards you and crosses it arms. Waiting...

Impressive, though he could easily finish it off with his next pokemon the weird guy has caught his intrest, it certainly looks like it is at least concidering coorperation. Be it a permanent addition to the team or a second odd creature to have the professor examine, surely it wouldn't hurt to try.

Sending out Lani he would speak up with an offer:

''You impressed me and I like your determination, why not join me. Surely some real fighting partners would be better for training then some defenseless lizard. You got potential and I can help you reach it if you accept!''

Holding out an Ultra Ball he would await a response, ready to signal Lani to jump in with a sky uppercut (6+4+3+2=15) should it suddenly decide to attack him anyway.
