The waitress looks genuinely disappointed as they shook their head, not thrilled at being unable to fulfill that request.

”My deepest apologies, but their simply isn’t any available Cufant or their elder Evolutions to on the market - they’re fairly rare here and tend to get snapped up by professionals or elephant and Large Pokémon Lovers like yourself. Believe us, we’d know if they were any and given you an estimate on our prior meeting….”

After a moment of hesitation, though…

”….We DO have a Pokémon akin to what you’re looking for. More…exotic and unruly, but I believe they would still fall into your criteria and be a fair trade for those Choice Specs….and you’re willing to sign a waiver absolving this business of all liability upon taking ownership of it.”

Huh. What could be like a Cufant but be more valuable (and dangerous) to boot…? Your guess ( and the other PCs, if you want share this standing offer to further entice bargaining) is good as any!

"You have my curiosity. I'll admit I'm not one for dangerous Pokemon, however. But please! Continue - I don't want to commit to anything, but if we want to talk bargains, you gotta let me know what cool Pokemon you're thinking of!"

Vernon will forward this info as soon as he receives it, hoping to get a higher counteroffer from the party and also relishing a chance to be the source of a rumor. He will word the text so as not to put any pressure on Bernhard or Seddi, who have already so politely declined to trade.

"Also, if you know anyone who owns the Choice item for melee moves, maybe I could trade with them and give you a finder's fee? Maybe I'll use your bulletin board for that if I don't get any amazing offers."
