He's the one who captured...something. I'm not sure what to call the critters he found, because as far as I can tell, they're not pokemon. Or at the very least, not pokemon like we know them. Which is weird, considering our field of study. Lad seems to have a penchant for capturing the strangest critters imaginable."
Seddi will hand the phone to Akamu. Time for the Alolan to meet the Professor properly! "Alright bucko, give her the story. And try to keep it brief and to the point."
He'd be quick to take it.
''First the Bio-Fang and now this, I'm really not making it easy for you all... Here we go, in short. I caught those.. creatures in a world not quite like ours, though they seem to be connected by *pipes* in several places. I still don't know how I ended up there by starting on the beach but I did. Catching the purple guy wasn't too bad but *this* was a catch most fortunate and accidental. A mere distraction while fighting for our lives turned into well *this* Ultra Ball loaded with extreme power, strange as it could be.''
"No, you are not. The distractions from the inane busy work is a welcome reprieve, however. *Sighs* Especially in light of a certain someone generating chaos and controversy within the local government - you wouldn't happen to know why they got involved, Sedd?""
Err...
The professor's frown took on a studious quality as you described what you realize was a trip to another World and BACK and miraculously catching the Legendary Big Gloomy Dragon. Gloomtail - that name suddenly popped into your head, as you were thinking about him. That was this Legend's Name.
Presumably you share this with the professor too, as well as the difficulty that Ultra Ball seemed to have properly containing the Creature's energy, which caused her frown to deepen as she pondered things.
"....If you hadn't Caught it like you did, you would not have been able to Catch it at all. From what I've gathered from the data so far - garbled and corrupted as it is in places - for any Capture attempt to work it had to be both Weakened enough to be forced into a Pokeball but not unconscious. The Dragon's energy levels would be too low and the variance in what a typical Ball is designed to Catch would be too great for it to work, setting aside the notorious difficulty of properly containing a Legend Class Entity inside a regular Pokeball. And that is a problem - though more to it than you and most others.
"Due to the fundamentally incompatibility between whatever this Dragon is and standard Pokeball technology, it won't be able to ever reach its full power or draw upon and synergize with your own to bolster its. Not without considerable effort to naturalize and acclimate it to you and the new World it now lives in. The Ultra Ball its in is quite literally acting as a power restrainer to the Legend - good for you to maintain control over it, if not good for it. *Curious Frown* Even without the Power Restraint factored in, however....it seems like this Legend's Baseline Power is more comparable to a Pseudo Legendary. A 'High Tier' one prior to Capture, and a 'Middling Tier' now, to use the crude classifications some Trainers like to use. Almost like an inverse Ultra Beast....or perhaps our world's Pokemon would be considered such to it and its home world denizens..."
She mumbles the last two lines more to herself than to anyone - the information within normally would be considered highly classified, but between Akamu being a Alolan Kahuna aspiree and Sylvia being a Researcher of some reknown and known professionalism I suppose sharing anything on Ultra Beasts is fine.
"....Hold on for one moment, and hold this phone over Gloomtail's Ball please."
You do so, and you see a few programs popping up on the screen and a lot of data and text flying across it, before a big blue 'COMPLETE!' flashed before your eyes.
"Done. I've put a proxy and several firewalls over the Ball's True Data and Pokemon. Only myself, Seddi, and other High Rank Researchers can access Gloomtail's actual information, much less find out about it. I've classified it as a Unknown Mutant variant of a Drampa, tentatively a potential and powerful hybrid offspring between one and a Hydregion - if anyone asks what kind of Pokemon it is, tell them that. Any more information you can Obtain on this creature you can forward to me with this secure number - do not use it for anything but critical intelligence, please. I'm also willing to take it off your hands to Research it myself, like my standing offer is for your 'Bio Fang' - you will be compensated for it accordingly. Otherwise, I recommend obtaining Ranc and Ritsuko Berries - this Dragon's temperment seems to be especially brutal from what you've told, and the data I've collected on it now only reinforces that notion. I'll have the rest of this Creature's basic information sent to you and Seddi by tomorrow morning regardless - its nice to have a good reason to do my actual job.
"Now, hand me back over to Seddi, please."
The phone is now back in the cowboy's hand ( @Dragonstrike ) , and the Professor is looking at him with those stern and ever assessing eyes of hers.
"If you have anything else to share, please do so now. Otherwise, I regretfully have to get back to my work on setting up my lab, with the local government, getting international communications stable.....I digress."
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
