Main Street isn't a bad choice; might've voted Docks if I'd been online yesterday. And that's where Vernon is heading, but only after the Survival Center. He wants to ask for advice, then maybe let Cruz take a look at some other military hardware and get a feel for how to behave outside of a boat situation. Vernon will tour all the places that might know something about training a pseudo or about boats.
The gist of what you go on this esoteric topic was this:
1. The more Beautiful something was in the Wilds, the more Special, Strange, and often Dangerous it tended to be. In the case of Pokemon, those of particular Beauty are either so Vital, Tough, and good genes that nothing can wear away at their robust good looks, they're Smart, Insightful, and resourceful enough to actually do regular Beauty care on top of maximizing their Survival, or their is something Unique, Special, or otherwise abnormal about the Mon to justify their uncanny appearance.
2. The prettier, nicer, and lovely a place was in the wilds, the more heavily guarded and/or secluded it tends to be. Good real estate in the Wilds is forever at a high premium for man and especially Wild Mons, so expect stiff resistance or otherwise getting Ambushed/strong armed if you happen to find a gorgeous place to explore.
3. Pretty Items don't have a consistent Safety to Threat Ratio, especially when concerning Magical Artifacts or 'Star Tech' , as the A'ru Rarii ancient technology is called by the general public and Treasure Hunters. Always a gamble if the neat thing you Picked Up is benign or holding a 1000 year of kick ass for the first sorry smuck to mess with it.
4. Ugly-Scary things/Mons, by contrast, actually tend to be less Dangerous in the Wilds - or at least their threat level is readily apparent and far easier to prepare for. Rougher places tend not to attract too much of a crowd unless their is something Special about it, and nasty looking Mons tend to use their....well, looks as a defense mechanism to scare and ward off potential threats to THEM. Still, don't EVER let your guard down, even if you know the stuff you're dealing with - the Wilds always will find a way to trip even a veteran up to Strange and often dire ends...
5. In terms of individual Mons and places, the 'best' Safe and Beautiful Mons are the Wandering Healers (Clefable, Chansey Line, Audinos, etc), and the best place would be the Inland Archipelago Resort, a downright picturesque and tranquil vacation spot smack dab in the middle of an otherwise dangerous land.

You're greeted by a Male Ranger upon entering the S.C. and requesting help with one of your new Wild and Native Captures, whose face puckers when he realizes you got a hold of a Cruferrophant. With a heavy *Sigh* though they agree to help - its their job to prevent Trainers like you from getting killed by the more dangerous critters here, even when it come to helping out what appeared to be a green 'Rissy' from getting plowed and sunk by a very angry boataphant.
They let you bring Cruz to see the M.H. in the basement, accompanied by several especially burly Machamps and what looked to be an Quagsire of unusual size (BIG) and character (FOCUSED). Said Pseudo-Boat's reaction is at first caution and irritation/aggression seeing so many targets and no Tasks to be Completed, but they quickly become intrigued by the equipment as you hastily direct their attention over to it. Most of it eventually proved not interesting enough for it, but the boats and more heavily fortified vehicles got what sounded like challenging honks from it - seems like they considered such things rivals to it, uh oh...
Loyalty: (5) + 1 (Caution, Minor Trust) Success
Disobedience: (1)(5)(5)(2)(1)
Before they get riled up, though, you manage to soothe their temper by loudly and enthusiastically proclaiming its superiority to anything on offer here and it need not waste energy proving otherwise. Much to the relief and mild amusement of the Ranger and his support nearby, who all seem a bit more at ease now that you've shown to have some control over it.
You got a rough idea of its General Behavior when not Being a Boat: its going to treat things as general obstacles or threats that needed to be 'dealt with' to secure their area and assuage their own sense of Safety and Superiority.
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
