Or wait for Bern to interact first before tailoring your own approach - whichever decision you think will be Wisest.

If given a friendly reply, she'll introduce herself and Sir and ask what the Glowy Fox-Lizard was contemplating purchasing for a meal, and offer to pay or help pay if she can (to a reasonable extent, of course, but hey - she's not above using food to bribe for friends).
