I don't think they are check, I just think they are to restrictive at the moment, since you can only Mega Evolve only once per battle, with only one Pokémon. If they removed that, I would be more agreeable to the concept, more or less.
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
