Yes, there are: the Stadium was designed in mind for changing the terrain, climate, and overall ‘setting’ on a dime for whatever Sport or Battle need be done. Having portions of it change for more aquatic Mons to get a fair assessment of the Quality being tested was easily and readily done.

Vernon will enter Pwee into the Spectacle category (unless Power is better). The plan is for the enormous Pokemon to do the biggest possible cannonball into the pool, using Surf (is that a rare move in this campaign?) to enhance the splash, and catch as much of the descending water as possible in the colossal lilypad (Rain Dish). 

He'll Stockpile a big dense meal ahead of the games to be as dense as possible. Maybe the re-emergence could be an Astonish.

Vernon is just as interested in scouting out how other trainers handle their own huge or rideable Pokemon. Perhaps there's racing in different categories he can observe while awaiting his turn.
