I like the mechanic that someone who is out of encounter slots still gets to participate in the shock of the scene - they are just essentially Diceless. Vern gets to show how powerful the enemy is xD

Thank you! I wanted to involve Vern, but since you had no Dice/Slots Left I just didn't want to have your PC stand around or , worse, become a liability if/when things get worse. So a One Way Trip to the Beach it was!
