Vernax doesn't hear anything that sounds like his role in the call to arms.
However, knowing some of his friends, they'll definitely decide it applies to them, so Vernax rides up to someone (perhaps Seddi?) on Dodrio and wordlessly opens the flap on one saddlebag. It's full of healing items, and the party is welcome to take or borrow any.
