[Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands

Upon being back from this...let's call it an 'experience most divine and strange, yet pleasant and oh so comforting, Bernhard felt...better. A LOT better. As if this experience, as if Fayette has cleared his mind of the most recent stress and trauma, as if IT has actively tempered with his mind (soul??!) to save him from even more emotional stress. Immediately upon this realization, he looks up the sky, observes the pink-blue borealis, catches a few flakes of the  Divine Diamond Dust - its flakes vividly standing out on his black clothing.

An otherworldy BEAUTIFUL moment it was indeed.



Eventually, after what felt like an eternity.....

......Bernhard spoke up. Or tried to, it seems like his voice failed him, since out came only severe coughing.

With a bit of blood in between.

". . . . .*heavy sigh, then shakes head* .....No. You people will have to do without me."

He hangs his head heavily, long black strands of hair obscuring his face and expression. A facepalm with the remaining hand only follows, then Bern shakes his head again. "I can't lend you my powers, neither am I in the condition to help or be of any use. Due to that maddened Mask Wolf, I... I mean, I... I am unable to cast ANY spells right now, as well as for the time being. It will take TIME and EFFORT until I can do so again without problems like I am and was used to."

*bitter smile* "Isn't it morbid to find out that something so trivial, something you take for granted perhaps, something you use multiple times a day every day, can be TAKEN FROM YOU within mere seconds."

"Furthermore... There is little sense in the idea of me summoning my magical partners manually and fight like...like a TRAINER would. " Then, in an instant, Bernhard looks away to the side, actively avoiding everyone's gaze. He seemed to quickly get lost in thought, his mind eagerly drifting off into the clouds.

 ...Then, he minimally flinches as a surge of headaches and nausea befalls him - a VERY CLEAR sign of his mind telling him 'thus far and not a single step further, my dear. For your own sake, for your own protection; you are not yet ready to handle and process these memories'. "The bitter and unpleasant truth is...I don't even know HOW TO properly fight like a non-Magi-person does. I haven't been a Scimitar ALL my life, that is true indeed... But before I joined them, I hardly at all fought with my Pokemon. I only did when I was forced to defend myself. I have been thaught to fight via spells ONLY, this is where I am at my BEST indeed."


Silce reigns for a while as Bernhard let the words sink in. Tension was tangible in the air. He felt useless, defenseless, vulnerable. He hated that he had to say these words to all the others, he avoided their gaze and mentally readied himself for their reactions...

Course of Action:

Bernhard will step out of this Major Encounter at this point. He will not be present in the fight of the Hateful Sandlossugeist, and instead use the time to properly rest up and stick with Citrine. Maybe with Vernax as well. Work on getting his Gauntlet attached again. Perhaps have a heartfelt talk with Zephy.

Yes this is my final decision. This is what I feel is right. This is of little reassurance though, as I'm regardless very sorry about this.


...However, I will NOT leave you people hanging, I will lend you my aid passively. Here's what I thought up and imagined about how this will look like:

- Umbrelong, aka Equi aka Nox aka Equinox, will join the fight. They will be let loose against that Sandlossugeist, with instructions of Bernhard to go FULL VIOLENCE against it and radiate it AS MUCH AS ONLY POSSIBLE with their unique nuclear powers. No direct orders for her, she shall make good use of their Synchronize-Ability and use those moves she thinks are best suited to the situation, I figure she is smart enough to do so. Likewise that she is smart enough to not actively get herself killed. One of your Player-Charas (I will roll for this, unless someone volunteers) will be given some Healing Items with the request to heal Equinox up properly if needed. (This is quite the passive sign of trust from Bern's side. He doesn't enjoy this, not at all, but there's no way around it if he wants that Nuclearmon to stay by his side.)

- Galarian Rapidash, aka Nirix, will also be present. Note the 'be present' - he will NOT actively fight, but he is requested by Bern to stay close to you people but out of range for attacks of the Sandlossugeist. He will be given a Max Revive to hold, and is asked to give it to any of you to use it on a dead Player-Chara or a treasured but dead 'Mon in dire need; in dire need ONLY (feel free to ask me if a situation counts as 'dire need' in my view, but you're not required to do so; use it when you think it is justified). Nirix has also orders to use Healing Wish in a situation of MOST DIRE NEED if the Max Revive has been used up before as an absolute last resort. In the absolutely and truly WORST case scenario of there being no active battlers anymore on the field because everyone died and the Sandlossugeist is still standing with little HP, Nirix is asked to step in give it the rest with his attacks.

- I am unsure whether Ninetails, aka Myra, is okay with being lend out to use in the fight in the first place. I doubt this is the case ('Must stick with my wounded Master to protect him and stay with him in a time of need!!' [which Bern does greatly appreciate]), needs @Lord Windos' input and clear approval first. If anyone is REALLY(!!!) interested in lending out Myra AND is VERY VEEEERY(!!!) confident they can put the kitsune into good use, I, Bern, and Myra can be talked to to come to an agreement. [Spoiler! I actually wanted to lead with Evocation Spells by Myra against that Super Boss]

- Bernhard will give you all the Healing Items he lend from the War Party, which ones is stated here. Divide them in any way you wish, note that some Items of these pool are reserved to heal Equinox. I thiiiiink since Iron opened up his Inventory, it is mayyyyyyybe fine to have Bern hand those he lend out from Vern to the party too??? Needs @Iron's approval first. If this is not the case, then of course Bern won't do that, and will be good as gold and obediently return the Items to you.

- Steele the Mawile is up for another Player-Chara to be burrowed for the fight. She wanted to prove herself against that beast after all!~ DEFINITELY ask Lunn for approval FIRST, but likewise for an informed decision, here are her Stats: Long URL

- No burrowing of Spritzee for multiple reasons, and EVEN LESS SO burrowing Zephy for even more reasons. I wanted to try Aurora Veil in this fight actually, but lending out his trademark partner is an absolute no-go, even if Zephy would be okay with it (which I am certain she would not)
