[Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands

If it was not for their cowl obscuring their face you'd probably see much the same expression on theirs; the Magi's body language alone conveyed deep Pain, Exhaustion, unease, and anxiety. Replacing a Gauntlet, even a 'Wearable/Armor' type of lower grade as the one Citrine used, was not going to be cheap; if they didn't have the funds they'd be crippled for weeks, if not months if they decide to try and upgrade to a sturdier model. Hopefully their contributions from taking down one of the Land Whales will be enough on that front.

You get a tired, silent nod from the Water Scimitar as you speak, though they do seem to still at the level of respect you were giving a middling member like themselves, as if unsure they really deserve such high praise and respect. Considering they took down a Pseudo Tier Threat with only a Deicidueye for backup - at great cost, but still - odds are that their star would start to rocket up once word spread of their great deeds.

Well, assuming you all survive the night, anyway, but no need for negativity just yet.

"....May the waves carry you forth, and the darkness protects your way."

Remember Potion Effectiveness is still a thing in my campaigns - 1 Super Potion would get rid of 2 EL, but then diminishing returns kicks in as the 2nd SP only Heal 4 HP, while the Third would only heal 2 HP, netting you only 3.5 EL Damage Healed (Though I could see its/her basic Regenerator taking care of the rest) and her/them at 1/2 HP. If you want to use Potions you're better off using something like a Hyper Potion first to get as much HP Healing Down before P.E. kicks in or use non-Potion healing Items/means to bypass P.E. entirely.

Alternatively, if you're willing to do so, you could spare more XP from the XP you got from the Duo Leaders fight and upgrade its Regenerator for 50XP, the process of which  + the severe damage Nox has sustained will 'super charge' it into overdrive to rapidly regenerate and heal away their/her injuries as a 'One-Time Emergency Full Restore (Without incurring P.E.) . You'll have to stifle a bit more XP from Bern and delay whatever purchases you wanted to make, but on the other hand Wild Lands Regenerator is hella good and will serve Nox and Bern well now and going forward.

Regardless of how you go about Healing the chimereeve they are eager to return your affections, though they are remarkably gentle and carefully as they slither up and nuzzle their forehead beneath your chin and letting out a *Rumbling* purr-buzz. Sex is the last thing on its/her mind - she/they want to make sure you are safe and sound, THEN she/they want to find the monster responsible for all this and thoroughly irradiate it into glowing crystalized sludge

As such, you're command/request is meet with a firm nod, baring their glowing teeth and letting out a *ZzzzzSsssss!* that felt every bit wrathful as you over IT. They/she seemed reluctant to leave you despite their desire for VEGENCE, relatively defenseless and still recovering from your grievous injuries.. Still, they/she wanted to do something other than restlessly pace around you and generally being wroth with worry and ire over how things turned out. So off Equinox went, pairing up with whatever PC or NPC (if no PC desires her help) willing to have her/them tag along, with said person receiving your own instructions and general guidelines for the Mon's use (however much and however detailed it is).

You'd get word about Lunn's Fate ASAP, since you're in possession of one of her Mons and therefore  the doctors and a Ace Trainer (acting as witness) concerned with the matter wanting to confirm things about where this leaves the two of you (Bern and Steelene). In Sutalor, any Trainer that comes into possession of another Deceased Person's Pokemon has the right to Claim it for themselves, which includes situations where if said Mon was given for their use prior to the previous owner's passing. Often the Trainer turns the Mon over to the nearest next of kin of the deceased or gives it to receiving area (often getting compensate in both cases), but sometimes they simply integrate the now 'widowed' creatures into their rosters if they feel up to the task (or if greed overcomes them). Back in Hoen, though, any Pokemon of the deceased are automatically transferred over to their next of kin or - if their is no next of kin suitable for the Mons - taken in by the state to be either rehabilitated for government use or released into the Wilds.

Lunn indeed does have a their parents and younger sibling listed as their Next of Kin, but Hoen's laws (and most Cheshirian-Allied Regions, for that matter) on Mons don't apply here and their government isn't likely to raise a fuss considering the Coordinator decided to 'go against the grain' and make a (most verboten, by cultural standards) vacation to one of THE most dangerous places on Pokearth.

Let's put aside all that death business for the moment and address how the lil' bity bitey Mon takes your speech: they are indeed not terribly pleased with your confession, crossing their arms and giving you a pout. What was the point of bringing them along if you weren't even going to make use of her talents, one way or another?! Your apology does seem to mollify the creature, however, as they let out a disappoint sigh and simply nodded. Oh bother....she can't stay mad at this fellow. Not after losing a limb for a good cause, and certainly not after their prompt treatment and apologizes of the harm it caused her. Still not happy - she was so looking forward to demonstrating her flair on such a high stakes stage! - but understanding all the same.

Your request gets a curious frown from the ironclad pixie, tilted their heads at you at how tired and grave you sounded. Ultimately they simply nodded - their Partner did lend them to you for the time being, and she can still do plenty good with you by as you patrol the camp and recover. When Lunn was ready she'll come back to pick them up, as Promised, and they can resume their epic adventure through Bayhama!

Oh you poor dear...

By this point you feel Zephy's and Myra's Pokeballs vibrating and rattling in their places where you Locked them in, VERY eager and impatient to be freed and  promptly mother/Swadeloon you for the next eon, but you do your best to pay them no mind and prioritize preparing your majestic unicorn for the upcoming battle(s). Oh you'll pay for that later, but you got chromatic steed to convince first. Once fully summoned, though, Nirix all but trampled you as he started doing his own version of medical check ups and examinations, his eyes and horn glowing as he used every sense he had to determine your overall health and what else needed to be done to get you on the road to full recovery.

It takes quite a bit of effort to get Doc Horse to settle down and reassure him you were mostly fine - the skeptical glances he gave your missing hand telling you how much he bought THAT - but eventually he submits with a huff and hears you out, his tail flicking impatiently and worriedly all the while. The brief trip down memory lane was unexcepted but nice, and the rare AND strong praise was equally so but just as warmly received.

Your request, however, was not - the blessed fae looked ill at ease at you so casually handling your own severed hand, and your own brief recounting of the Incident that lead to THAT happening didn't help the re-growing sense of alarm and need to Heal you. Your subsequent plea for them to join someone else and still Fight against the DEMON that indirectly caused you this injuries was obviously less well received, with the pastel equine snorting in displeasure and stomping a hoof into the sand. Why in the name of Diance and Xerneas would they leave you now of all times, when his help and support was most needed? You were his Master, and you were his first and foremost priority - a DEMON OF HATRED, no matter how wretched and worthy of being scoured from the Earth and Purified, could and should only come second to his duties towards you.

If you want Nirix to join the rest of the War Band without major complaint you can request a Loyalty Roll, which will most likely work out, but be warned that a less than stellar one will have negative impact on their overall Bond and Relationship with Bern, as sending them off could be interpreted as their Master dismissing their opinions and feelings entirely and/or as a sign you had no faith in their aid and wanted to make use of them otherwise.
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
