Ahh, the little red star.  In fact, there was one person on the Breeder's Discord who held off on updating until just a couple weeks ago for the sole purpose of being able to see that star on the eggs.  Personally, if you breed enough (especially if you have the shiny charm and are using the Masuda method) you'll probably be seeing your fair share of shinies anyway; however, since said person was also specifically aiming for a shiny dex, I can see where having the shiny indicator on the eggs would come in handy.

Now if only we could have it back and a 6IV indicator, then our days of hatching hundreds of unwanted eggs would be over.
