[Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows

Kogeki signals to everyone else to step back, brings his arm backwards to wind up a throw...

Kogeki's Throw

...then tosses the small rock at one of the larger rocks perched precariously on the cliff above!

The sound of stone hitting stone echoes for a moment, followed by the smaller rock hitting the ground...

...

...

...and for a brief moment, it seems like nothing happens.  Kogeki turns to ask if anyone else has another rock to toss...

...only for the rock the struck with the gravelerock to suddenly fall with very little warning, striking a circular section of the ground that was loosely outlined with several smaller rocks!  And as soon as it hits the ground, that part of the pathway collapses, causing a small tremor that shakes even more rocks loose!  Kogeki finds that he was just a tad too close to the trap when it was set off, and is grazed by a few of the rocks as they fall into the hole (and also burying the Gravelerock that Kogeki threw)!

Karen runs over to Kogeki immediately.  "Kogeki!  Are you okay?!"

The Riolu gets up and dusts himself off once the rocks have stopped falling, bruised, but thankfully not fainted.  There's now a large, circular hole in the path that's filled with rocks, looking very similar to the previous collapsed pathway.  This one is a bit smaller scale, though, and can be walked around.  And with the trap disarmed and the path cleared, it's now possible to examine the pile of items that had been stashed here.

In total, there are:
- 4 Oran Berries
- 2 Tiny Reviver Seeds
- 5 Apples
- 500 Poké
- A green seed with two white stripes which Marcus identifies as a Heal Seed (cures a variety of status effects, similar to a Full Heal).


Marcus whistles as he examines the pile of items.



"That's quite a stash Conkeldurr's built up!  Don't usually see wild pokemon holding on to this many items.  Probably took awhile to gather this much.  Well, what do you guys think we might need?  I think Daxter's right that Conkeldurr would appreciate it if we didn't take all of his stuff."

Pyra is rightly worried and panicked when Kogeki nearly gets flattened by the Rock Slide trap, and wastes nary a second rushing over to him to fret over his injuries, clutching him somewhat tightly and closely inspecting the most injured areas before giving him a look brimming with concern.

"Spirit Ninja Kogeki, are you well and alright?! Do you need serious healing, an Oran Berry or Karen's Life Dew drops, or can you endure these wounds that foul trapped inflincted upon you?"

She didn't even notice or care about the pile of Items until Marcus called attention to it, prompting her to look up and give them (the Items) a critical once over before smiling in delight. Yes, these Items were most certainly worth the trouble and harry to obtain them.....though regretably at the cost of some of Kogeki's wellbeing. Oh, how she wishes she could march back over to that Conkeldurr and tear a bloody strip out of his hide for all the trouble he caused.....! But between the group's newest objective of investigating Machamp for Foul Play and the strong notion she has that her friends would yet again balk at the idea of further and proper punishment of the Conk Squad out of....out of some ineffable sense of care and compassion towards them, that would never be the case. 

The she demon lets out a small *sigh* as that thought concluded. More and more, she wonders why some of her friends are so difficult to both understand and care for. Kogeki at least hardly judges her at all and accepts her the most, and Kee is such a lovely friend when things are fair between them, but given the former plans to leave the group someday and the later's tendency to repeatedly confound her........ *Sighs*

Kogekis Remarks

Kogeki barely had time to avoid the falling stones. He was bury with some rocks. But thankfully, the damage was not that big.

He punch some rocks and finally stand up. He returns to his friend while he is a little bruised. "Urgh. Just a few scratches, but alive somehow."

Kogeki raise a eyebrow towards Marcus question. "What we should take? Everything if possible. I don't give a damn about what Conkeldurr like or not. It is the least those guys owe us for attacking us."

"Well, I was not the one who attack a group of Pokemon minding they're business right? Besides, we were leaving and those guys attack us in the spot. They attack us."

"If you think you I no better than Team Artificer because I felt zero sympathy towards Condelkur and only care about us instead of some unworthy Pokemon like them, than so be it. They should be thankful we are even thinking in helping them with Machamp problem."

"Or even better: They should be grateful that they do not become the next targets of my Aura Draining meal."

"Ungrateful Pokemon like them is just that to me: Auras to be drained. At least they would be useful for something for a change."

"Sorry, but I do not easily forgive those who do transgressions to me, or those important to me. This is the way I am. You may be my friend Daxter, but I will not change my ways or how I view them. Not even for you, Karen or Kee. Those Pokemon need to earn my respect. And yes, I stand adamant in the decision of taking everything because they own us, no matter the reason they had. We stand right."

Daxter frowns. What the heck was with Kogeki and Pyra? "Uh, mate. I'm not robbing someone blind because he was trying to defend his home. That's just in bad taste. I'd say we should grab the seeds, two apples and two berries. Leave everything else. I only suggested taking some of the supplies just in case we needed them against Machamp. We don't need any of Conkeldurr's money to fight Machamp. Unless you think you can somehow feed the Poke too him, that is. If you're gonna behave like this every time, maybe I just won't bring up any ideas from now on. Honestly, you're no better than Team Artificers sometimes."

Before she could formulate an answer to the bone craftsmon Kogeki beat her to the punch, and subsequently got into a small squabble with Dax as they (Dax) firmly disagreed with their 'Take All, Screw Them' mentality.  That dims her smile to the point it nearly becomes a flat line across her face, and for a moment she stays silent as they argued, watching intently with a inscrutable expression.

Then, she suddenly tugs at the phantom brave, hopefully getting his attention and forestalling the aquatic salamander's as she looked him (Kogeki) gently in the eyes.

"Agree and share in many of your belief-ideas, I do, my dear friend Kogeki. Certainly we should pilfer and repossess all of Mightless Conkeldurr's Items for ourselves, yes, for they deserves nothing less and much much more retribution for their attempts to waylay and pound us senselessly, unjustifiably, and brutishly  so. *Huffs* Rudeness and misplaced defiant pride after being soundly and rightly cow-downed, refusing to accept fully our kindess and mercy before and after our battle, makes them ever greater in 'worthiness' for harsh justice. Oh how I wanted to fulfil their foolish wish, oh yes, *Sighs* ....but Machamp is more important to deal with than waste time with them....."

Pyra trails off as she stops to look over at everyone else and gives them a disappointed grimace-smile (I'll leave it up to the imagination how she can pull THAT off), before very quietly whispering the next part to the dread jackal (If anyone wants to listen in, I'd ask Dragonstrike to make a roll for it, since she's trying to keep it private to not rile them up).

"....and our freinds and Marcus does not seem to share my-you-our idea-beliefs on dealing with that lot, or others like such them. Why, I still can not fathom, no, other than them having some.....odd care feelings for our enemies that......overcomes all of our bond-friendship, somehow. Know not how that is possible, allowable for them to choose our foes and those that intend to do serious harm or bad hinderance to us all, but.....but it so. The way they are. Something we must accept, finding ways to work with or past their......weird-wrong feelings. Because regardless, no matter what, they are still our cherish and beloved friends. Understand, my dear Kogeki?"

Once she finishes up her (hopefully) quelling plea for tolerance on the grim canine's part, she looks back over to Dax with a weakish smile.

"We should take and claim all these Items for ourselves, to tend and refresh ourselves for our journey-job ahead us, yes....."

*Sighs*

"....but I believe-think you would not accept such a thing - mayhaps Karen, Kee, and Marcus too, hmm. Find it wrong to do so, for reasons I can't understand or fully accept, no. So let us....compromise, reach a deal we both can agree on somewhat. Here is what I propose: We divide three of the Apples to eat for ourselves (1/2 each for the group + Marcus), take one Oran for Kogeki, the Heal Seed and all the Poke for ourselves and......leave the rest for that brute and his allies to....treat and recover from their injuries. *Smiles a bit more* What do you say, Dax? My friends, and Marcus too?"

....She then tilts her head at the webbed lizard, and says this simple but highly contentious opinion: "Oh, and I must ask, why do you.....believe-think Team Artificer is so bad? To me, in my own head, they are just another Team at the Guild, in the way carry on and act like most of our fellow Adventurers, only aggressively-furatively more..."

Order: Try to have Pyra diffuse the brewing conflict between Dax and Kogeki, and put forth her own idea of what the group takes from the Loot Pile. We already have plenty of Orans from Kee, I think, Karen has Life Dew for healing, and we already have plenty of Revivers that we don't need to take the ones here if Dax/Karen/Marcus wants to be somewhat merciful and kind in their pillaging. OOC I rather we take all the Items, because if we want some we might as well get them all and we don't really owe Conk and Co anything beyond proving our characters goodness (which has already been abundantly demonstrated, imo), but I rather not we fight over this IC or OOC, so here goeth my solution that hopefully everyone will like.

Oh, and something else that'll take everyone's mind off the past situations IC and open up some opportunities for some good ol' character values interplay! That'll be fun~!

Ah, and for my shake, let this whole scene happen before Marcus decides to do his own argument breaking. Doesn't exactly fit well after it, imo.

With both Karen and Pyra rushing over to Kogeki after some of the rocks have fallen straight onto him despite the efforts of not getting harmed, it may be not entirerly necessary for Kee to fret over him - but he STILL zigzags over to the deltadoggo as quick as he can to see whether he's alright, he just CAN'T find it himself to not see and check for himself whether he's fine. Althought 'fine' is relative after what has just happened...

*relieved smile and encouraging nod* "My, that's been quite tha risky move ya've taken. But, I'm thankful ya did that leap of faith, well done there!~ Quite a good toss ya made, hehehe." Kee gives him a - careful to not hurt him - pat onto the shoulder.

The furry crittercoon has been watching and listening in onto everything that's shared among Kogeki, Daxter , Pyra and Marcus with some sort of blank expression, it's extremely hard to figure out what he's thinking or feeling at the moment/about the situation. Only when Marcus adresses him directly Kee perches up and gives the craftsman of a cubone a short glance. "Hmm."

Then Kee walks/zigzags over to the pile of Items, carefully picks up one of the Oran Berries and one of the Tiny Reviver Seeds, puts them into his guitar bag and lastly gives a bit of a sigh-huff. "That is all I wish to take 'long, both t'heal us or some of tha people Machamp's got imprison'd, shall it be nec'ssary. If ya people wanna claim more of that loot, do so an' please share it b'tween yarselves as I want NOTHIN' of it." He shakes his head. "It's nat in mah place t'critize or rate yar 'pinions, ya BOTH are valid."

Another sigh-huff. "Once ya're done makin' up yar minds an' 'greed on somethin', letsa get goin' 'ventually, I'll wait for y'all." Kee semi-turns towards the path they came from, ready to move ahead. "Ya know, all I wish is t'become a respected 'dventurer of Delphox's Guild, help Pokemon 'n need an' do what's RIGHT to me - but at times, ya people are making these d'sires an' aims of dear-me sort of high-flown an' hard t'follow."

Mechanically and meta-wisely, that means that Kee claims one Oran Berry to make up for the one he used on Forretress earlier as well as one Tiny Reviver Seed in case we do have to battle Machamp or more Fighting Types in general. I'm fine if you people wish to take more or even all of the remaining Items - but Kee wishes to have none of it and I'd like to have nothing to do with your decisions. Up to you to decide and share (or not), as I'd rather not include me or Kee into this conflict. ...Okay?

Kogeki try to calm down Pyra trying to speak with her while she check his body. "Do not worry Pyra. I most okay, I serious! Just a few superficial wounds, nothing more. I think its not necessary waste a Oran Berry or a healing drops from Karen. I think we just need to walk for a while to heal myself a bit, nothing difficult. You people dont need to be worry."

Kogeki was about to argue again with Marcus and Daxter...until Pyra came and try to calm down the tension of the situation. Kogeki doesnt like to be compare to Team Artificer, but still didnt think that Conk gang deserve the trouble in helping them. 

He would prefer to grab everything...but he accept Pyra and Kee decisions about the split of the items. "Thank you Pyra, my friend. Wish I the others dont even go beyond to judge you or me like that...*sigh* But, as you said yourself thats the way things are I suppose. And I agree with you: Despite our conflict views they still are our friends, and I will fight against any enemy who dare to inflict any harm to them."

Kogeki listen to Kee words...and was thankful to his decision. He approach to the items in front of him and take a good look. He was tempt to grab everything...but listening to Pyra and Kee words he decided not grab everything. But he grab a good bunch of said items.

Listen of items he grab:
- 3 Apples as Pyra suggested.
- All the Poké since they need money.
- And Heal Seed.

"Honestly, I think we should carry that last Revive Seed too. We might need that in the battle against Machamp. We have 2 Dark Types here, so that might dangerous. But I carrying the items Kee and Pyra suggested. Its up to you people if you want one of the items be left behind to keep things "balanced". But I strong suggest grab that Revive Seed. We never know when we might need."

Daxter shoots a mutinous look at Marcus, rubbing his head furiously. "Fine! I just won't speak up next time. He had every reason to attack us and no reason to trust us, and you two hate him for it. Have at it. I don't care. Just don't expect me to stand by while you do something stupid like try to murder him."

Once everyone starts discussing the distribution of Conkeldurr's stash, Daxter interjects once again, barely holding his anger in. "I'm not taking any of his money. The only reason I suggested triggering the trap was to get some items to help us against Machamp. The money's not gonna help us unless we try to play Hungry Hungry Hippowdon with him. I doubt it's gonna work then either. Take the seeds, take the apples, and take the berries. Those will actually help. He's already angry and mistrustful of everyone from Sahra Town and you want to take that a step further by robbing him blind? Not on my watch."

Daxter's tone suddenly turns a little pleading and desperate. "Leave the money behind guys. Please. We really don't need it. Come on. Let's just take the food and go."

[Dragonstrike]

@Spiritmon, do you have 4 free item slots in Kogeki's bag to carry all of that?  Money doesn't take up any space, but everything else requires 1 item slot in the bag to carry.

"...*sigh*...Daxter, leave it.  I still stand by what I said to you about Team Artificers, but I don't think anything we say to the rest of your team is going to make much of a difference right now.  I really hope that attitude doesn't end up getting Kee into needless trouble in the future..."

He shakes his head mournfully before continuing.

"I won't be taking anything myself.  Doesn't sit right with me, and this isn't what I came here to do anyways."

Karen fidgets nervously, uncomfortable with all the fighting and unsure what to do about it.

"Um...I'm...gonna sit this out as well...*ahem*..."

"...listen, I've got a story for you all when we have a chance to rest for a little bit.  If my gut feeling is right, there'll be one soon.

"...this isn't going to be a happy story, is it?"

"I'm afraid not, Karen.  I'm afraid not..."

Marcus bonks both Daxter and Kogeki on the head with his bone club, seemingly upset with comments that both of them made.



"Hey, cut it out, you two!  This is not a good time to be fighting among ourselves.  Kogeki, I'm pretty sure Conkedlurr had good reason to mistrust outsiders after being betrayed by one.  Daxter, comparing Kogeki to Team Artificers is low when you don't even have firsthand experience with seeing what they're really like.  Both of you could do with having a little more respect for each other, so quit it.  Are you on the same team or not?"

"Pyra, Kee, what do you think?  Do we take all the items or not?"

(I actually forgot to answer that one @Dragonstrike. I do have something to say about this one)

Kogeki look at Marcus for a second while he approached the items. He also rub his head. "And? This do not justify they attacking us at sight. I pretty tired of every time trying to explain."

"We. We're. Leaving. I don't give a damn about if they have a reason or not. You can say that now because we beat them, and us consciousness. Do you think after beating us they would suddenly leave us alone? Oh no. They would leave us locked in some place and take our items. If I be betrayed by someone I would be wary yes, but not to the point of attacking a group of Pokemon who are leaving."

"I don't easily forgive anyone who treat to harm my friends, no matter the reason it is. Tell me one Marcus: You would not do the same to protect something to you? If someone or something try to attack you or someone you care do you not feel angry and resentful towards that same thing?"

Karen fidgets nervously, uncomfortable with all the fighting and unsure what to do about it.

Daxter shoots a mutinous look at Marcus, rubbing his head furiously. "Fine! I just won't speak up next time. He had every reason to attack us and no reason to trust us, and you two hate him for it. Have at it. I don't care. Just don't expect me to stand by while you do something stupid like try to murder him."

Once everyone starts discussing the distribution of Conkeldurr's stash, Daxter interjects once again, barely holding his anger in. "I'm not taking any of his money. The only reason I suggested triggering the trap was to get some items to help us against Machamp. The money's not gonna help us unless we try to play Hungry Hungry Hippowdon with him. I doubt it's gonna work then either. Take the seeds, take the apples, and take the berries. Those will actually help. He's already angry and mistrustful of everyone from Sahra Town and you want to take that a step further by robbing him blind? Not on my watch."

Daxter's tone suddenly turns a little pleading and desperate. "Leave the money behind guys. Please. We really don't need it. Come on. Let's just take the food and go."

Kogeki do perk up when he hear Daxter words. "And why I would do that? This money will not be used to persuade Machamp. It will be used for any future things the group might need like buying new items, or anything about it. And I will not explain my reasons to why I taking the money from Conk, since I explained thousands times already."

"But...you do have a point. Make unecessary conflict with those Conk gang is enough. I dont like them a bit, but I dont want to deal with them anymore. I will leave the money behind but I will grab that Revive Seed. Is that more agreeble mate?"

Kogeki look at Marcus for a second while he approached the items. He also rub his head. "And? This do not justify they attacking us at sight. I pretty tired of every time trying to explain."

"We. We're. Leaving. I don't give a damn about if they have a reason or not. You can say that now because we beat them, and us consciousness. Do you think after beating us they would suddenly leave us alone? Oh no. They would leave us locked in some place and take our items. If I be betrayed by someone I would be wary yes, but not to the point of attacking a group of Pokemon who are leaving."

"I don't easily forgive anyone who treat to harm my friends, no matter the reason it is. Tell me one Marcus: You would not do the same to protect something to you? If someone or something try to attack you or someone you care do you not feel angry and resentful towards that same thing?"

"I'd absolutely fight to protect what I value, Kogeki, and I think that Conkeldurr was likely doing the same.  And I'm fairly certain Conkeldurr was also trying to imply that we should leave the Mystery Dungeon entirely, not just the room we were in at the time.  Fainting us would have forcefully removed us from the Mystery Dungeon as well, so we would have been fine aside from losing a few items.  Whatever happened exactly between Conkeldurr and Machamp, it must have damaged his trust in outsiders greatly, enough to try and solve his problems on his own instead of looking for outside help.  Pursuing your goals is fine and all, but having a little compassion and understanding when appropriate is important too.  That was a lesson I learned the hard way..."

@Spiritmon, do you have 4 free item slots in Kogeki's bag to carry all of that?  Money doesn't take up any space, but everything else requires 1 item slot in the bag to carry.

Marcus deflates when Kee grabs some items; declares neutrality; and walks off, followed by Kogeki trying to stuff about half of what's left into his bag.

For a moment Pyra looked as if she was distressed by Dax almost rudely refuting her compromise, looking between him and Kogeki (who has been in just about a stormy mood as she has been since the Conk Squad) a tad bit fretfully and not with a little vexation. For a moment she could only think 'Why can't we just get along and happily cooperate, on this, that, and beyond?, ' but that dread was soon dashed when the spiritual ninja agreed (reluctantly/begrudgingly or not) to the amended deal, letting out a relieved *Sigh* and giving her nod of consent/approval of it too. Whew, what a relief that was! A bit tinged with lingering tension and discontent, but at this point she'd take anything that got the party to relax and not fight with her or each other over (to her) silly and pointless nonsense!

Kee's own headless initiative earned him a bit of a frown - what good was her deal if not everyone stuck to it? - but other did not have a problem with him or his choice to stay out of that irrational mess of conflicting emotions and ideals. After all he too was a cherished friend of hers, and his belief-thoughts were of utmost importance to him and herself (even if she didn't hold them true to her heart)! That, and she really didn't care too much about the Items anyway, especially not if they were sparking off pseudo Fights within the group somehow.

Marcus' foreboding statement towards her fae friend manages to catch her attention, causing her to gain more interest in him.  More so when he gave his rebuttal to phantom brave after clobbering him/Dax in the head (something which earned him a quick dirty look - was there really a need for that?), particularly raising it with his words about caring. Eventually it lead to the brimstone imp walking up to be beside him, leaving the final fate of the Item Pile to Kogeki and Dax to finish fretting over. 

".....Hmm, Craftmon Marcus, I am....confused about you. Many others too, but right now only you. About this, I ask you thusly, truly: why do you.....feel as you do? About my group's choices and deliberations, about Mightless Conkeldurr and his wretched intolerance? Care as much as you do, yes, so much over what we-they think, believe in, do-as-we-desire? *Shakes head* You owe to us-them naught such concern, nor do I think we-they warrant it too? What does it all matter to you, what we, everyone, chooses for ourselves to be, in thought, action, and in-between?

"*Smile dims, Pyra looks away to the path ahead* Do not get it, nay, not in the smallest least. Agree more and most ardently with what idea-beliefs Kogeki and me thinks about them and those alike, and wonder why no one else does agree or see what we see. Foolishness, mis-match kindness, is it now......or it is something else I not see, blind to now in my lacking, growing understanding....?"

(Ready to move one when everyone else is, mates! Don't hold up for me now! If Bag Space for the 3 Apples/1 Tiny Reviver/1 Heal Seed is an issue [Not Counting what Kee took], she'll hold onto some/all of the Apples herself and leave the rest to Kogeki/Dax to sort out between themselves!)
