[Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows
(10-14-2021, 04:52 AM)no one Wrote: Daxter wrenches his arm out of Pyra's grasp furiously as he hisses, "What did I tell you about personal space?"

He moves a few feet away, seething at both Pyra and Kogeki before pulling an Oran Berry out of his pack. He tosses it in Kogeki's direction, insulted by Kogeki's insinuations. "If you had waited around a little longer, I would have given you the berry. Such a shame you didn't trust any of us enough to have your back. Hope you choke on it."

At that, he refuses to reply to anyone else as he starts assaulting the pile of rocks with his Bubble.

"I'll respect it when you are not acting like a fool." Ouch.

His comment and spiteful generosity earned him and Kogeki a beady eye glare from her. ".....I said stop. Your problems with each other can wait until The Darkness is taken care of and we are done with this job and out of this Mystery Dungeon. More is at stake here than your personal feelings and grudges - act like it, you two."

Even if he doesn't reply, Pyra makes sure Dax is hearing her loud and clear. She's harsher on the aquatic salamander since he's being the most difficult and bullish (not to mention unsympathetic, but that's besides the point) about Kogeki's decision and arguably doing the most to keep the bad blood a'boiling. He doesn't have to respect of like the spiritual ninja's decisions, but right now was so not the time to get into a fight or dispute over it with them, Inferno damn it.

Once The Strange Pink Crystal is gotten and the Second Wind blows through, Pyra doesn't need Marcus' panicked warning: she marches right on ahead to the Stairs, expecting everyone to quickly follow after her. If they don't.....then she'll have to fight The Bat Lord and The Dark Beast alone.
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

*Flashback!

Kogeki grab the Oran Berry and had a grip with a will to throw at back at Daxter head...But Pyra was right. They have a job to do. And enemies to face. No matter how much disapointed by Daxter he feel, he must do his job. He approach Pyra, nod his head without saying anything and then give her the Oran Berry to her if she have the enough space to carry. "Lets just finish this and go our way. I had enough of caves today."

*Flashback end!

Kogeki had to be quick to grab the crystal and reach out as quickly as possible. He was mesmerized by the crystal for a second, but then he dispatch the feeling and follow Pyra. Time to beat that enemy.

Into Kee's guitar bag the nice pink crystal goes, and right beside Pyra's side the smol crittercoon jumps as she begins to march onwards to the stairs. Kee shoots her a serious, unexpressive glance from below, yet it is one that literally drips with confidence. A quick nod underlines it even more as well gives some silent credit to her for dealing with Daxter and Kogeki.

On the matter of these two, the aquatic salamander and deltadoggo of a ninja both receive a STAAAAARE from Ziggy Kee as his deep-red eyes seem to silently judge them - 'ya two really arent makin it easy to be a great and proper team of adventurers', he seems to convey. Yes he values and treasures both of them, that's for sure and a given - so far he has tried his best to keep himself out of their conflicts, but it seems if things are continuing to be troublesome between these two, he'll (or he and Pyra) be intercepting if needed.

Oh right, Hoopa receives a quick wink and telling smile from Kee: "Found somethin' cool 'ndeed! (・ω<)☆ No time t'show now however." Karen, whose discomfort Kee quickly picked up upon, receives a gentle nuzzle and soft lick over the cheek as a means to comfort her. "All's well, my dear - sorreh that stuff's so...distressin' for tha empathic being ya're." One more reason for Kee to intercept in conflicts, he doesn't really enjoy seeing her feeling unwell from fellow team members.

Everyone heads down the stairs to the next floor, the darkness closing in on them as they descend.

It's quiet at first.  Almost too quiet.  The pitch black cave is impossible to see in, and only the warm light of Pyra's fire provides any illumination to the party as they go deeper and deeper.

Hidden Mine's Depths

Then the silence is suddenly broken by the sounds of a fight ahead, and Team OS suddenly finds themselves walking into a large room lit by the red glow of flowing lava.  More of those strange tracks are running in and out of this room, this time with actual metal carts sitting on them.  Some are empty, some are piled high with coal, and the tracks that leave the room seem to head even deeper into the tunnels.  The sound of fighting ends as quickly as it began, and while the group don't see who he was fighting, they immediately recognize the first pokemon they see.

The Lord of Darkness: In the Future - Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of T/D/S (Page 143)

Vilucard stands with his back to the door in the middle of the room, Nohface standing at his side.  He doesn't even turn to look at them as they enter.  "So, you failed to heed my warning, children.  A shame.  It matters little to me, though.  I have what I came for."

He turns around to face everyone, and clutched in one of his claws is a dark, rectangular object that seems to absorb all the light that hits it.

"The Dread Plate now belongs to Darkula.  And with that, I shall bid you adieu.  Have fun playing with the Primal Shadows.  Come, Nohface.  We have work to do elsewhere."

Vilucard snaps once more, and both he and Nohface vanish in an instant, seeming to melt into the very shadows themselves.

And that's when everyone sees the pokemon that Vilucard had been standing in front of.  They push themselves up from the ground using their arms, clearly having just been attacked.  "That was...mine!  Give it back!  Give it back!  Everything in this town is going to belong to me!  ME!"

Four well muscled arms and a golden belt glinting in the light given off by the lava make it unmistakeable.  It's Machamp.  He locks eyes with the party and roars at them.

Immediate Danger: Oh No! - Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of T/D/S

"GIVE IT BAAAACK!"

The sound of Machamp's yell seems to be a signal of some kind, as the party also suddenly finds themselves surrounded by five Machop as Machamp starts to stride towards them, an almost murderous look in his eyes.

"What the...?  Machamp, what the hell happened?  This isn't you!  We didn't take that item!  Snap out of it!"

"I don't think he's going to listen to reason Marcus..."

"Hah, Fighting types?  Easy peasy!  They'll be KOed faster than you can blink with me on your side!"

"Gah...I don't want to fight Machamp..."

"But I guess you're not giving me a choice are you?  Alright, bring it on!  I'll beat some sense into you if I have to, Primal or not!"

Pyra was silent as a grave as she descended into the depths of the Hidden Mine's Depths, an utterly intense air surrounding her as she practically lead the group alongside Kee. She was ready to find and end the dual threats of The Darkness, and this time nothing would belay or deter her from doing so.

The Depths themselves were.....almost homely to the brimstone imp, were she in the proper mindset and mood to appreciate it. As it stood her eyes were only on The Bat Lord and his Dark Beast, her pupils shrunken to thin, narrow slits as she glare at the both of them.

"We have come, Bat Lord. Submit and let us destroy The Darkness within you two, or be subsumed by my wrath."

Of course her threat didn't amount to anything in the end as she (and the group, perhaps) was completely ignored as the vile fiend and its minion escaped their grasp with......that Dread Plate that  resonated with her inner Dark and.....something else she couldn't name.

Watching the evil pair fade away, out of the group's reach and denying her God given right to purge them of The Darkness......something snapped inside her. She didn't pay attention to the pre-battle banter or the petty whines of the Machamp as an near indescribable feeling flooded through her as she stared at the spot the two departed from. It felt like hot, sticky tar was surging through her veins and clogging them up, scorching her raw yet thoroughly well done. Her teeth grit from the feeling, the sensation, digging into her gums until they started to bleed, puffs of steam starting to escape her nose. Her claws digging into her palms until blood too starting leaking from them. Her heart, her inner Dark furnace of Fire, beat increased tenfold, striking out like a hammer in her chest and accelerating the spread of that feeling thorough out her entire being. Last but not least, her eyes.....they were completely devoid of any emotion, a dreadful and all too alien blankness to them that was just plain wrong to look at.

Pyra.....didn't know what was happening to her right now.

She did know this: she was fucking done with E V E R Y T H I N G right NOW.

The demoness head snapped to the Machamp and its drones at that realization, the full force of her feelings borring into her with T h a t  S t a r e  of hers. Intimidate Triggered, - 1 STR to Machamp.

Pyra didn't say anything to it or her friends. She just S t a r e d at one of the Machop with a force unrivaled, a promise of untold horror conveyed to him with 100% clarity and sincerity. If this thing wanted to fight for its Master, s o  b e  i t .  L e t  h e r  w e l c o m e  i t s  a t t e m p t  c o m p l e t e l y.

Order: I want to make an Intimidation Check against one of the Machop's Will with Pyra, using a Will Point from her to boost it's success. She's not going to be doing much right now, but what she can do at the moment is just be as menacing as possible. So much so I want to increase her Intimidate Specialty by 1 for 6 XP as well. Let her feelings be known.

Roll should be Tough/STR (2) + Contest (2) + Intimidate (2) + Will (+1), right?

Into the depths of the Hidden Mine he goes alongside Pyra, and the moment Kee recognizes THAT CATBAT OF A COUNT stading there in the room, he goes into full fighting mode; complete with him hissing, baring his teeth, every hair of his fuzzy fur being bristled etc.
Something - SOMETHING - about that rectangular object they hold in their claw they call 'Dread Plate' makes Kee's smol heart race like it hasn't done before since he was turned into a Pokemon, SOMETHING about it is with that plate that he would (figuratively) walk over dead bodies of enemy Pokemon to get his own claws onto it.

Why and how so his desire for this plate is so strong, is kinda beyond Kee. What he does understand however, is that there must be a reason why he feels so.

There are more important issues at hand right now though, and that is that big massive guy that is Machamp coming straight AT THEM to, uh... get back that plate? Eh, whatever, if Machamp wants to fight for that plate so be it then, Kee won't deny a decent battle and good challenge: Fighting Type of not, HAH!1!! Just because he's so smol and fuzzy and is weak to their Type, he WON'T show any fear or hesitation towards them to give them NOT THE SLIGHTEST of opening, NOPE!!1!

[Image: image?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstatic.onecms.io...0.jpg&q=85]

Orders general: Kee's primary goal for this battle is to not get fainted from all the Fighting Types here while also dealing as many damage as he can. He'll be constantly moving during the battle and never stand still, he's not afraid to get close (but not too close) to the streams of lava.

Orders A: If Machamp attempts to attack him directly or any of the Machop tries to hit him with a priority move, Kee will discourage them from doing so by shouting and screaming at them with everything he's got to protect himself.
Accuracy Roll Snarl Clash: 2 Special + 2 Fight + 2* Clash + 2 Single Action Bonus = 8d6

Orders B: In case he's not targeted when he gets to move, he'll go straight  for Machamp to give them a full-blown headbutt.
Accuracy Roll Headbutt: 2 Dext + 2 Fight + 2 Brawl + 2 Single Action Bonus = 8d6
Damage Roll: 1 Strength + 3 Power + STAB = 5d6
Additional notes: Has 3CD to flinch the foe.

If at any time of the Round at the end of a set of a set of turn Kee is at 2 or 1 HP, he'll be healing himself up with an Oran Berry from his bag. Same so if he does at the end of the Round. This counts as the Pokemon's equivalent of a Trainer Action and does not require a roll nor an Action. (This is a legal thing to do according to my notes in the Houserules tab of my charasheet)
If Kee faints, he'll be autorevived with 2HP via a Tiny Reviver Seed in his bag.

Daxter squints at the weird tile looking object in confusion. "Is that- Where... I think I've seen that thing before..."

The Dread Plate brings out strange memories in him, but nothing that really seems to make much sense. He clutches his head, the confusion almost causing him physical pain. "Argh... Stupid amnesia."

His distraction is cut off, however, by the sight of the weird bat Pokemon and its sidekick. Daxter snarls at the cowardly Nohface, his fangs growing in icy rage, but the swift exit of Darkula and its sidekick causes him to roar once again. This really was not a good day. He looks at Kogeki and Pyra furiously and back at the place where the plate had been, but his expression softens once he sees the murderous and almost insane Machamp.

"Machamp, mate. You really don't want to do this. Come on, don't you remember us? You were gonna build us a sweet house and everything. Please don't make me have to fight you."

Daxter realises as he speaks that his words don't really have an effect on the Pokemon. "So this is what Primal Pokemon are like then, Marcus? We can help him by beating it out of him right? That's something I'd be more than happy to do."

Daxter launches a flurry of Bubbles at Machamp and two of his Machop cronies before launching himself at Machamp with an Ice Fang.

Order 1: Bubble on Machamp, Machop A, Machop B
Acc: 2d6 Dex + 2d6 Fight + 1d6 Channel - 0d6 Pain - 2d6 First Action Penalty= 3d6
Dam: 3d6 Special + 2d6 Power + d6 STAB+ 0d6 Torrent = 6d6
Other: d6 for decreasing their Dexterity by 1

Order 2: Ice Fang on Machamp
Acc: 2d6 Dex + 2d6 Fight + 1d6 Brawl + d6 Dog Collar - 0d6 Pain - d6 Accuracy - 4d6 Second Action Penalty= d6
Dam: 2d6 Strength + 2d6 Power = 4d6
Other: 2d6 for flinching and 2d6 for freezing Machamp

Kogeki look at Vilucard and NohFace. He see the Plate in Vilucard hand. He feel he should remember why such item was important, but before he could think a bit more, Vilucard vanish and Machamp appear with many foes along with him to attack. He grab his kunai and prepare a fighting stance. "Its no use Daxter. Machamp is completely dominated by his Primal instincts. The only way to help him...is defeating him." Kogeki grab his kunai and launch himself to battle, right in Machamp face. "Hoopa! Marcus! Karen! With me! We need to beat Machamp as quick as possible! But we need to beat his minions too!"

Whatever decisions Marcus, Karen and Hoopa decide, Kogeki will use his speed to reach Machamp and use Shadow Punch against him, perhaps along with Hoopa attack he might use. Time to both Ghosts beat the crap of that Fighting champ!

Kogeki will also use a Quick Attack to keep the pressure against the big fighting type. And in case things scalate to much quickly, I will use a Oran Berry on Kee or Pyra (whatever be more wounded first).

Shadow Punch: Dex(2)+Fight(2)+Brawl(2)-Actions(2)=4D6
Damage: Power(2)+STR(2)+STAB(1)=5D6
Effect: Never miss.

Quick Attack: Dex(2)+Fight(2)+Brawl(2)-Actions(4)+Will Point=2D6+(1)Will Point
Damage: Power(2)+STR(2)=4D6
Effect: Priority attack.

Extra action: Use a Oran Bery on Kee or Pyra (who be more wounded first).

"Heeheehee!  This is going to be a breeze!  You Fighting Types can't touch me!"

Confusion (Hoopa) 1
It doesn't affect Machamp...

"Wait, what?!  WHAT?!"

Machamp just starts cackling as they start to crackle with dark energy.  "Ahahaha!  AHAHAHAHA!!  You FOOLS!  You've been deceived, and you didn't even realize it!  Nobody in Sahra Town did, and it's going to be MINE!  ALL MINE!  AHAHAHAHA!"

Behind Machamp, everyone suddenly hears the loud clang of something clanging against a metal object.

Engaged in this battle, though, there isn't exactly any time to check it out!  Kee rushes headlong at Machamp!

Suddenly, the entire battlefield starts to shimmer and waver, and the surroundings start to change.  On the tracks in the background, a cart that had been hidden in plain sight suddenly comes into view, shadowy energy completely covering the top of it and concealing whatever is inside.

The more obvious change, however, is staring Team Omega Seekers right in the face...

Zoroark's Illusion is broken!

"Wait, Zoroark?!  You're the reason that construction in Sahra Town has slowed down so much lately?!"

"Yes, Marcus!  You thought it was Machamp, but it was me!  Zoroark! AHAHAHA!"

"Everyone, she's gone almost fully Primal!  We need to knock some sense back into her ASAP, or we're going to be in huge trouble!"

Unfortunately, Karen had been too slow to pick up on the signs that something here was off, so her first attack just glances off of the Dark fox pokemon.

Kogeki lunges at Zoroark from the shadows to strike with his fist.  Zoroark casually turns around and catches the punch with her claws, throwing Kogeki away from her.  She shakes her hand in discomfort, though, still having felt that attack to some degree.

Marcus glares at Zoroark, determined to put an end to this and put things back to normal.

Everyone briefly looks towards the cart behind Zoroark, and notice that the shadows covering the cart seem to be dissipating, and the clanging is getting more frequent.

Zoroark scowls.  "Quiet you!  Or I'll have to silence you myself!"

Before she can, though, Karen manages to get the jump on her since she's been slowed by Daxter's Bubbles!

Zoroark starts marching towards Marcus, who raises his bone defensively.

"So, you're going to confront me directly?"

Zoroark smirks.  "Of course.  I can't hit you with my most interesting move without getting closer."

"Then get as close you like!  You can bet that I'll be ready for it!"

"With pleasure."

Zoroark suddenly becomes cloaked in dark, shadowy energy as she recklessly rushes straight at Marcus!

Daxter stares at the now Zoroark in a mixture of horror and relief. It looks like Machamp wasn't the one who was behind all this after all. But if this Zoroark and its cronies who were all dark types managed to defeat fighting and bug types like Conkeldurr, Combusken and Forretress, their strength was very definitely a problem.

"Zoroark, love, I really don't want to have to do this but it's clear you're not gonna give me a chance. Just keep it in mind that this was because of your choices and not mine." Daxter says, getting another set of moves ready.

Using up 16 points of experience to increase Fight from 2 to 3, so that might give me some better odds of landing Ice Fang.

Order 1: Bubble on Zoroark, Zorua A and Zorua B
Acc: 2d6 Dex + 3d6 Fight + 1d6 Channel - 1d6 Pain - 2d6 First Action Penalty = 3d6

Order 2: Ice Fang on Zorua A (if Zorua A is down, target B, C, D or E in that order)
Acc: 2d6 Dex + 3d6 Fight + 1d6 Brawl + d6 Dog Collar - 1d6 Pain - d6 Accuracy - 4d6 Second Action Penalty = d6
Dam: 2d6 Strength + 2d6 Power = 4d6
