[Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows

Kogeki see the dead end and the hallway with only the Apples in the ground. "Hmm. Lets grab those apples and return the path."

When Daxter refuse to eat a apple, Kogeki search in his bag until he find his own apple he didnt eat yet. He approach Daxter and gave his apple to his companion. "Here. I didnt eat my own apple yet. I am okay and I still not hungry. Its the job of a leader be responsible to the party safety. Just eat this apple. That makes three apples."

If possible Kogeki would like to do a little investigation in this hallway to see if this everything there is in this room. If its truly didnt have anything, Kogeki will lead everyone to pillar room and go this way:

He speaks only once the group reaches the dead end, and his eyes falls on the fruit on the floor. His belly rumbles, but he sees Karen and Pyra looking at the apples with hunger two and decides to let them have them.

"Uh... You know what? You two take the apples. I'll be fine, I'll find something else to eat. Go on!"

Seeing Kogeki lead them into a dead end doesn't diminish the brimstone imp's spirits in the slightest, but hearing her stomach *Growl* at the sight of the two Apples catches her off guard and prompts her to stare at her Belly with surprise. Huh, she didn't expect the mere sight of food to do that to her! Yet another quirk of her body, it seems - if it keeps acting up or startling her, she'll have to take time to investigate it more thoroughly!

Dax's selfless offer of the Apples causes Pyra's smile to fade a bit, however, and she rather firmly shakes her head against the idea.

"No, nay Dax. You and Kogeki deserve to feast on the flesh of the red fruit, to dine on it's succulent juices more than I. Your wellness and fitness is more important than mine, yes, so please do not starve yourself for mine own shake. I will be fine and well, so do not fret and worry my friend."

Similarly, she won't accept any Food from the rest of the party unless they have all eaten first and were not hungry. She can do without a meal or two if it means they won't suffer for it!

Beyond that exchange, only thing left for Pyra at this point is to double back to the previous room with her group and deal with whatever Event has cropped up there (if any), then have Kogeki choose another path!

Dax frowned, and thought about it. Kogeki and Pyra were being really nice, but he'd rather not have them go hungry either, so he decides to try and use Scratch on the apple to cut it in half so that he and Pyra could each eat half.

Scratch, huh?  Well, it is a slashing action, though not a particularly potent one.  This might be a little difficult, so let's roll some dice to see how you do.

It's not a particularly precise blow, and Scratch isn't as potent a cutting move as something like Cut or Slash, so let's see how much damage this does to the Apple.  Too little, and the apple won't be cut.  Let's say the Apple has 1 Defense.

Dmg: (6)(5)(1) 2 damage

That's exactly enough damage to separate chunks of the Apple into two roughly equal halves with a little careful application of those claws!  Daxter hands half of it to Pyra before eating his half.  That'll stave off the hunger for a little bit for both of them.

Karen, meanwhile, takes the second Apple for herself.  "I'll take this one if you guys don't mind.  I'm kinda hungry since I forgot to eat this morning...hahahaha..."

The air in that dead end corridor is rather ominous as well, but nothing in particular seems to happen when the Apples are taken and consumed.  The torches just illuminate the hallway with the dull glow of torchlight. There doesn't appear to be anything else in this hallway.

Fast forwarding a little...

When Kogeki leads the party down the corridor in the upper left corner of the room with the three pillars, they quickly come to a fork in the path as the corridor splits off to both the right and the left.  Looks like another decision will need to be made about which way to go before a tile will be revealed.  So, right or left?

Seeing Daxter smart decision, Kogeki give the Delta Charmander a thumbs up. "Nice thinking Daxter. This will save you two from hungry." Kogeki when he would see Pyra refuse the apple, just put both of his paws and in her claws and humble refuse the apple back. "Your strengh will be extremely necessary. You and Kee is the key members to best defend against Psychic and Ghost attacks because of of your Dark Typing and Kee Dark/Normal. You are immune so you two need to save your strengh."

Kogeki make a confident punch in his heart. "I a warrior. And as a ninja, I used to pass some time without food. And I didnt feel the side effects of hungry yet, so I okay for now. Daxter is also important because of his power of spread moves, so save your strengh too. And thats a order as your leader." Said Kogeki giving Pyra a determinate gaze who mean something: He will not change his mind in this topic, nor he will accept a "no" as a answer from her. As much he dont see himself as a good leader, it is his duty to protect and help his party. Even if that means sacrifice a bit from his part.

There's no apples to greet them this time, however.  Only that ominous feeling that's been hanging in the air ever since they arrived...

Oh, and all of the torches are extinguished simultaneously as soon as the group realizes that they need to turn around again, and everyone hears cackling coming from somewhere in the pitch black darkness that's now engulfing them completely.  That too.

So, I ask: how does everyone immediately react to this turn of events?  Keep in mind that nobody can see anything. Even the light of Pyra's ever present flame isn't enough to pierce this darkness.

For her part, Karen speaks up, sounding really nervous now instead of excited.  Even her shiny sparkles are impossible to see in this darkness.  "...d-do y-you th-think that w-was a...g-g-ghost?"

*Briefly flashing back to the Apple Scene* : Pyra was not totally okay with Dax's solution of splitting the food between them - she admired his thoughtfulness but objected to the idea of him not fully satiating his Hunger, and the concept behind said thoughtfulness was.....strange, to her - but between the kind gesture and her Leader's insistence and rationale she reluctantly scarfed down her half of the Apple. While she personally would've prefer to go hungry for a little while longer for her friends shake, if eating it would not cause them to overly fret or worry about her like when she broke her arm (which she was still coming to grips with) , then dine on the flesh of the fruit she would. The lil' fiendess was all for some chaos, discord, and mischief, but not when it involved her friends!

Entering recent events, the fiery demoness was not scared by the sudden darkness nor the mysterious laughter, though like with everything unexpected it did cause her some measure of surprise. As a creature of the Dark, pitch blackness hardy phased her beyond the lose of her vision, and even that didn't bother her much when she could still hear loud and clear. Case in point, the moment Karen spoke up she immediately shiveled in their direction and carefully marched that way until she gently bumped into them, placing a claw on her shoulder and mummuring comfortingly.

"Perhaps, perhaps, but this mayhaps not be vile or bad. Could be a fae trick, a spooky scare to beguile and rile those that trespass here, by Pokemon or this place itself. Worry not, though, for I will be here for you, dear Karen...."

She'd then look upwards and around, and rather plainly declare thus: "Spirit, specter, magician, mystic, vector, or other, please reveal yourselves to me and we, or let us pass back through here to the room before unmolested. If you need exchange, I offer a fraction of my life to you, or take a small task that must be done."

Concerning the scene with the Apples, Ziggy Kee opted to keep himself out of the whole thing on purpose, prefering to not chip in, let the others handle it and use it as a welcome opportunity to curl up into a fuzzy furball for a quick rest. If anything, it thaught him to eat properly either at Kanga's Cafe or snack away on his own supplies before longer trips!~ Random Apples in a dead end when there aren't really trees or such around... These Mystery Dungeon continue to intrigue him in a positive way.



Following Kogeki without complain, they reach another dead end.... Causing Kee to frown, tilt his head and sniff + scratch the ground attentively to see whether there's REALLY nothing here. This place is called 'Hall of Magic', it's an oooooooold place far away from town, so chances are there may be something sweet buried or hidden in between the stones!

....And then everything goes dark and blank!11!!1, making the furry punk star swing around immediately with his back arched and all his fur standing on end, his deep-red eyes moving around quickly to scan the pitchblack surrounding. He's bearing his teeth and growls lowly at the dark. He's gone into full defensive mode within a mere second!

Eventually, he cackles back. He doesn't sound scared or fearful, more like... amused. "AhahahahahahHAH!~ Having yar fun catchin' mere adv'nturers off-guard, dontcha?~~ Well well, well played 'ndeed, but ya uuuuuunfortunately need more than this t'make me - us! - leave. Ahahaha, now C'MON, show yarself 'n stahp tryin' t'scare us, will ya pleeeease ?~"

He says all this while literally GLAAAAAARING into the sheer blackness, an excited and thrilled glimmer rushing over his deep-red eyes. (This counts as Kee using Leer, targeting nothing specific but more like 'emphasizing his point like this')

Dax scarfs down his apple half, and licks his claws to get the stickiness of the fruit's juice off them. He then nods at Kogeki's approving gesture, and follows the group back to the next path. The ominous cackling doesn't faze Dax in the least as he steps forward and glares around at the pitch blackness. He wasn't the least bit bothered by the pitch darkness (probably because water types sometimes live deep under water), but the cackling did make him go on alert.

"OI! Enough with the theatrics dumbass! Show yourself so we can speak like civilised Pokemon or so that we can start whaling on each other."

When Kogeki see they reach another dead end, he sigh. "Guess we have to find another-"

Before he could finish, darkness engulfed them and he hear the cracking sound. He try to calm himself and tell Karen. "That, or some Psychic Pokemon with some bad tendencies."

"Calm yourself Daxter. Let's try avoid conflict." Kogeki try to go in the front of the party. "Fellow Ghost appear to us. If you don't have any intention in appear then leave us alone and don't bother us again. We have no intentions in hurt you. Unless you attack us."
