[Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows

The whole process of lockpicking of the Treasure Box greatly intrigued her, especially after seeing the slimy residue around keyhole, prompting her to looking at the boneless sea slug with a look of intense curiosity.

"Did you use your body to unlock and release the bindings of this once closed chest? Would it be possible for others to learn how to do the same-similar as you?"

Gastrodon chuckles when asked that.  "Trade secret, I'm afraid!  It's not as easy as you might think to open those boxes!  But to answer the questions, yes, my natural talents are involved in the process of opening the boxes without damaging the contents.  It is also possible to learn how to open the boxes yourself, and there's a lot of different ways to do it, but we're not looking for any apprenticeships right now.  Plus, I don't think you'd be capable of utilizing my methods of opening these things anyways.  Not slimy enough."

Afterward that burst of affection from the mischevious demoness, she'd inspect her newly acquired TM closely and thoroughly trying to figure out what about it called to her so strongly (IE: She Learns Bulk Up from it, but in an accidental way if possible Dragonstrike. After all she doesn't know what TMs are exactly or how they work!). Let her burgeoning curiosity unveil this brick red discs' secrets.....!

It's strange, but just by looking at the disc, Pyra can almost feel the knowledge contained within it, begging to be released and learned.  She just can't resist touching it, trying to break the seal and reveal the hidden contents of the item...

*poke*

And just by merely touching the disc with the intent of learning the knowledge contained within, Pyra suddenly feels like she knows how to use the move Bulk Up, how to hold herself in such a way that she doesn't just appear to be Intimidating.  Flexing her muscles even now, she can more easily feel the raw Strength flowing through them, is more aware of her own Vitality.

A phrase floats to the front of her memory, spoken by the voice of an old man.

'Knowledge is power, as they say.  You would do well to remember that, Pyra, for this world will not take it easy on you if you do not learn.'

But as quickly as the phrase comes to her mind, it disappears just as fast.

The TM loses its color and becomes dull after being used.  No longer does it beckon for someone to learn the knowledge contained within.

She simply nods back to Gastrodon, content with their brief explanation. It was not very detailed, but it satisfied her curiosity and gave her another idea to ruminate upon! She would then ask if it and Kogeki if it was okay if she kept the Empty Treasure Box for herself, as she both wanted to examine/fiddle about with it later and could use it store Items in their group's room much more neatly than in their Bags.

Pyra jolts not one but twice after learning Bulk Up, her eyes narrowing in shock and drooping the now spent TM in front of her. The first one was from the info dump itself, as suddenly getting a bunch of Move Knowledge shoved into your skull, but the second and bigger one was from that voice. Who.....what......was that? Why did she hear that piece of wisdom?? So confused and caught off guard she'd turn to Kogeki with a look of mystified concern.

".....Kogeki, did you say or hear something, yes no? A....voice, words from an man old and withered from age....?"

"Sure. You can carry the box. I see no problem with that."

Kogeki see concern of her and said. "No. I didn't said anything or hear anything. Maybe it was...I don't know, maybe some data leftovers of bytes inside the TM? How exactly was the sound of that voice Pyra?"

Towards Floette:

Ziggy Kee mulls over the flowerfae's words with lots of hmmmms and uhmmmms, frowning as he does so. "Team Raider yar're sayin', here to do the noble Guildmaster a favor...? I see. (￣～￣ ) Sounds like they're kinda busy though, maybe nat bother 'em with mah stuff." As he mindlessly scratches himself behind the yellow-tipp'd ear it suddenly hits him, and he jumps to staaaaaaare at Floette. "Wait, I've SEEN a group of three Mon speakin' with tha Guildmaster when I approached her tha first time 'longside the others! Σ(°ロ°) Are those that Gallade, Roserade an' Rhyperior?"


Towards Lapras:

Now THOSE are some good news, they instantly up the mood of the smol-and-vivid crittercoon Kee is! He eagerly proceeds to nuzzle and rub his cheek against Lapras in an affectionate and thankful way. <3 "Thankies, many thanks 'ndeed, hehehe!~~ I'll definitely pay 'em a visit 's soon 's I can. Might, uh, take a while 'ntil I can, but you just rest an' wait until I'll come to ya and ask to be ferry'd to the Grass Continent, yess! ( ÒωÓ)و☆"

Kee notes that advice of Lapras below the copied Unown Script, being very confident in having the chance and opportunity to visit Wigglytuff's Guild at Treasure Town someday. He does have a loooong way to go until being eligible for that - but he's continuing to work on it, he'll get there someday for sure!



With that dealt with, Kee gets going again in his eager zigzag-fashion, his destination now being Cafe Connection. He hasn't had any breakfast yet, and maybe he'll pick up something interesting from listening to and watching the guests while enjoying his meal. Or not, but curious about everything as he is he just likes keeping both ears and eyes open towards the actions and conversations of the other guests around. (Can he have something involving Chestnuts this time too? He'll pay for it.)

Kogeki see concern of her and said. "No. I didn't said anything or hear anything. Maybe it was...I don't know, maybe some data leftovers of bytes inside the TM? How exactly was the sound of that voice Pyra?"

".....Perhaps, maybe, but.....that voice felt like something.....more than that, yes, or....less. Old, wise, but......tired? Regretful? *Shakes Head* I do not know...."

Pyra shakes her head a bit, and gives the phantom brave one of her gentler smiles.

"It matter not now, I suppose and guess. Gone it is now, and learning more about it is impossible or very difficult without lead or assistance. Let us reunite and rejoice with our friends once again, shall we yes my dear Kogeki?"

And the subject is unceremoniously dropped! Time to continue the rest of her day, starting with going to the Lobby and seeing if all her friends are their by now and get the low down on what their plans are today. Depending on what she hears she'll adjust and make her own accordingly, but regardless she's going to pay both Cofagrigus and the Keckleons a visit to show them the Treasure she and her companions found yesterday (showing her Gold Bar to the former and trying to sell those 2 Gold Scarves to the later). That, and tell them about the Jobs on the board, just in case they haven't already read them by now!

Also, is Pyra hungry or have any other needs/feelings in the moment? Because those might have to be taken care of sooner rather than later depending on what she decides to do with her time.

Kogeki look serious for a moment, his now usual stern face as ever...but then he decided to drop the topic of the conversation....for now. "If you say so Pyra. But if you hear anything else, tell me and the others okay? Considering the battles we have ahead of us, we must be ready."

"...And yes. Let's rejoice with the others. Need to sell this Gold Bar."

Kogeki look serious for a moment, his now usual stern face as ever...but then he decided to drop the topic of the conversation....for now. "If you say so Pyra. But if you hear anything else, tell me and the others okay? Considering the battles we have ahead of us, we must be ready."

"...And yes. Let's rejoice with the others. Need to sell this Gold Bar."

To his solemn request she gave him a short nod, still smiling as per her usual want. This was not the sort of thing she'd keep to herself, and she was loathed to hide stuff from her friends most of the time. After all, how can she serve and protect them if she's hiding secrets from them?

Kogeki's comment about selling the Gold Bar gets a waggling finger from the mischevious demoness, along with a beckoning gaze.

"Before that, selling this glittering bar, won't you come join me to visit Cofagrigus? He covets and desires Gold Bars greatly, promises great boons for them, yes, so why not join me to see what he could offer you for it?"

If he refuses, she'll just shrug and let him be. The Gold Bar was his to do with now, and that was that.

"Hmm..." Kogeki did a thought face with paw in his chin and then tell her. "It is a tempt offer. One that I can accept. Great boons is always great and useful, so why not? Lead the way demon lady Pyra." 

He let Pyra guide them though the path, while Kogeki was silent for a few minutes in the way. He was in...deep thought until he decided to ask her something. "...Pyra. Mind if I ask you something? How much...do you remember? About your previous life?" Kogeki was talking about a life of be human, but he is trying to say such things in case there any Pokemon around. "Do you sometimes get the feeling if you...truly want to remember?"

Kogeki look to his own paw. "...I don't remember very much. Just few things to know who I am. And my battle skills...but...I don't know. When I look in the mirror, or to this...scarf, I feel I should remember something important. But...I also the feeling if I discovered, I might found something terrible."

Kogeki sigh. "You keep calling me a "phantom brave" or "ghost warrior" but I don't feel that way. Right now, I feel like a coward for...think in such things. And I think I owe you some apologise too. I made mistakes in my day as leader: Almost picking a fight with Team Artificer. Getting mad towards the Guildmaster daughter. My temper is something I will work with, and for that reason, I sorry."

"Nothing. Have no memory, null past recollections, inklings or suspicions of my life before I meet you and our dear friends. Nothing at all. *Shrugs* I do not care about that, though, no. Who am I now, my own purpose for existence, own adventures, growth, and goals, the duty-bonds for the ones I love.....that is all which matters to me. It is those that make me Pyra, Dark Demoness of the Infernal Flames, Sworn Guardian of Darkness Defiers and My Friends, after all, yes. "

She listens quietly as the spiritual ninja quietly vents his anxious doubts to her, her smile fading away with each word until she was expressionless. Then, when he was finished and after a moment's pause, Pyra reached forward to wrap him in a hug, closeing her eyes and rubbing his back in a hopefully comforting way.

"....Oh dear Kogeki, you silly noble fool. Need no your forgiven, I do not, for you have done nothing so grossly erronous-wrong to deserve such, no, and you have already taken steps to better-improve yourself. Do not dwell on the past, whom you were and might become from memories foggy-lost. Do not to judge yourself wanting and waning, without a good Future, when you are anything but. You are you, my Phantom Brave, He Who Strides With Dutiful Purpose Through Shade and Shadows. Focus on the now, and how to become more and complete in who you wish to become. For I see only greatness, boldness, and wisdom in you, now and in times yet to come."

Pyra opened her eyes and looked deeply into his own.

"Do you understand, my dear Kogeki?"

Before he could finish another though, Pyra hug him, and said comforting words to him. He is...not very much used to hugs or even have this kind of connection with others (as far he can remember). He listen to every of Pyra words, while she still hold him, saying he is capable, and have potential. 

After a few seconds he return the hug, and told her. "...I think I understand. I have a long path to go though. To become what I want to be: The be strong, and not loose what I am: My kindness. My essence. And more importantly, my sense of honor. And be a more wise being, capable of better understand myself, and understand others. And be strong enough to fight for what I think is important to me now: My friends."

When Pyra look to him return her gaze. "I...still need to be fully strong of myself. And work in my confidence in me. I envy your sense of self understanding. You are wise Pyra, because you dont fear about who you are, or who you were. Wish I have the same self power. Fear is still something I need to fight. But...is there any greater battle, then the battle against the darkness inside of you?"

"Thank you Pyra. For be such a great friend and companion. I sometimes beat myself in be better, but hey, who never was right?"

Pyra was almost glowing with delight and pride at her spiritual ninja epiphany, squeezing him just a bit tighter before releasing him.

"Yes, yes, good great! Keep those ideas in mind, never forget them in heart, and ingrain them completely through-through, and you shall continue to be great and become greater than great in time due! You are important, to me, we, and ye."

His subsequent comment on the brimstone imp's  'self understanding' eluded her , as did the one on 'fighting inner darkness' , as she was so in tune with herself and her inherent nature that she didn't have to think about or struggle with either concept (or something akin to that). The best meaning she could get was that the phantom brave envied and admired traits that were only apparent to him, which was mildly baffling but very much flattering and sweet to her. She would has said as thus to him, but she had an inkling that was not the 'right' response. Instead, she decided to answer his concerns indirectly and in her own way.

"Fear is not bad, a quality not to be scorned no, Kogeki. Keeps you alert, aware, wary and alive, yes, through bleak situations, unknown determinations, and dangerous deliberations. Makes you sharper, inspires you to become stronger, and gives big motivation and meaning behind your actions. Master your fear, Channel and wield it right, and you become a force without reckoning and with great Insight! Same is true with this 'inner darkness' of yours too. Embrace and gain understanding of it, not give that part of you rejection and scorn , use it and not let it use you, and it will serve you greatly, that is the truth. *Smiles wider* At least, that is what I think and believe, yes yes!"
