[Meta thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure : Celadon City Vandels
If we survive here I going to train my Pokemon everyday to turn even more stronger and have my revenge against that crazy family. In the moment I only have alive Metalynx and Duplicat and both have weakness to Fighting-type moves, and Gardevoir and Metagross both have Hammer Arm and Focus Blast. And I doubt Duplicat can use at least use Transform again even with Choice Scarf. He would be problably knock out by that damn Gardevoir with all that buffs. We are very screwed.

Current Status:

Mega Gallade: Fresh; + 2 STR , - 1 Defense, Mega Boost; 3rd  in Initiative

Mega Garvedour: 5/9 HP ; + 1 STR , Mega Boost; 2nd  in Initiative

Mega Metagross: Fresh; + 1 STR and DEX, Mega Boost ; Last in Initiatives

Rhyxemplar: KOed; Ability is Petrify until the end of the scene or otherwise stated, item lost until end of scene

Arbok: KOed; Ability is still Pixilate until the end of the scene or otherwise stated

Baltazar: KOed; Item lost until the end of the scene

Melchoir: 7/8 HP, Mega Boost ; 4th in Initiative

Kyubi: 8/9 HP, Top of Initiative

This is a resume of our current situation: A Mega Gallade and a Mega Metagross with full health and with more STR and DEX, a little hurt Gardevoir with more STR, a Rhyxemplar, a Mega Arbok and a Astronite knock out and without any item. And a Mega Metalynx and Ninetails hurt. Besides Metalynx I only have one pokemon left and almost all Reiner have disavantage. And they going to kill me or worse and make Reiner "part" of the family. I think its time to put in use that gun of yours Dragon since our situation is very very dired. Perhaps you could use in that Metagross since its the most dangerous Pokemon? Or perhaps Gallade who is very powerfull too?

I kinda want to use Mamudo Eclipse too since Reiner got it for a reason.  The trick is figuring out when to use it...I was hoping Arbok wouldn't go down so that Reiner would have STAB on its attack, too (and he wouldn't have if that Confuse Ray had landed since Metagross would have had an accuracy pool of 0 and taken 1 damage instead of landing Hammer Arm...), but the other thing to consider is that Gardevoir and Gallade aren't weak to Dark, unlike Metagross :/  And ANY of them going down, human or pokemon, to such a brutal attack is likely to tick the family off something fierce and escalate things since Metagross is the only 'sane' one...though if things go really badly, Reiner might just have to use it out of necessity, which might be a decent explanation for the freebie...

Abilities reverting to normal doesn't mean a whole lot when all the affected pokemon are KOed and Gardevoir has no reason to use Skill Swap again...the alcohol might be a good idea here, since it would effectively be a free Calm Mind as long as sense can be thrown out the window...Turbo might not be too bad an idea either...half the time for the police to show up also sounds fairly reasonable, as ideally, this battle should be wrapped up by then if things were to go a bit better than they have been in the first two rounds...

Grudge is a last resort currently.

I can reroll on the Confuse Ray and see if it lands the second time, @Dragonstrike, as I rather not completely stonewall you unless the dice just have it out for Mega Arbok. I'd recommend using a Full Restore to prevent Burn from molesting the hydra, since Garvedour has literally become near bullet proof to all but SE attacks. As for Metagross being the most 'sane' one of them all, that is only because it was to not really being raised that well due to its immunity to 'thier' version of LOVE, so it defaulted to its core species' line of self preservational thinking: pure, cold computation, logical reasoning, and probability/algorhythmic analysis. Its absolutely loyal to the Family ONLY because they raised it to be that way AND because they never really taught it how to 'feel' / 'empahtize' / 'care' with other or itself. Its more akin to a machine with really advanced AI sentience than an actualy Pokémon, so its sanity is questionable at best too. Still, if you can get it away from its keepers, it should more or less follow your orders as well, due to being taught 'To be Loyal to Your Master' , NOT a specific person, but it won't have much of a personality unless you work hard at it.

@Spiritmon : Revivng Xenoqueen would be quite the Double Edge for everyone involved. On one hand, getting Fallout weather and taking out Mega Metagross essentially screws them over in the long AND short term of the battle, but Kyubi /the rest of Pokémon (Unless immediantly returned) would get lots and lots of rads , with Mega Arbok in particular receiving 4X!!! the Rads from Fallout alone (4X20 + 5X4 Per Round = 100 Rad Absorption by the 1st Round, and it only gets worse from their....). Reviving Baltazar will just put him in the spotlight for the Gang Bang Trio again, but he could score a decent hit against Gallade before they go down!

EDIT: 2nd Confuse Ray roll turned out really well for you @Dragonstrike , so consider Mega Arbok not KOed!

And what choice do we have? Xenoqueen for now its the only Pokemon with enough power to cause 4x Damage against Gardevoir and Gallade and cause a serious Damage against Metagross with Fire Blast. With Fallout we can cause serious damage each turn against them. We dont have much choice. Is that or use a gun who cannot do much.

Moonblast
Accuracy: DEX (3) + Fight (2) + Channel (2) – 3 Actions = 4D6 Dice
(1)(1)(5)(3) *Zoom!* The lunar energy sphere wizes by straight over the warrior’s head!

Why it's not even hit Gallade? (...)

Rolling two (1)'s nulliefies one sucess, in this case the (5). That's why Moonblast missed.

Alright, so that leaves Arbok on 2 HP and Metagross with 1 damage taken...time to get to work on seeing how we can salvage this situation...as soon as the post is updated to reflect the change...

Reminder that Duplicat has Prankster and Transform is a status move, so that'll go first in the round (another reason Duplicat should have avoided Sucker Punch from Kangaskhan, but Sucker Punch was far better to tank than, say, Return, so that's why I didn't mention that as well).  And if it Transforms into Gardevoir, it'll have the same buffs (Calm Mind) and ability (Aegis Ferrum).  At least, I think it will copy the Skill Swapped ability based on what Bulbapedia says, since it seems almost every other temporary effect is also copied...

If I use the gun on anything, it's probably going to be that Gallade.  Gallade and Gardevoir are far too loyal as a species to their trainers to be of any use to someone who 'acquires' them.  Metagross would at least be usable.

Kyubi can obliterate Metagross, hopefully.  That Gardevoir is the main problem.  Aegis Ferrum is...rather OP.  Let me break down what it does for you:
+2 Defense
-1 Damage from all Lethal attacks used against the pokemon
Halves all damage pools of moves used against the pokemon (typically rounded down)

With 5 Defense (very, very glad that Iron Tail go the Def drop) and halved damage pools, the only way we're going to wear it down quickly is with those SE attacks and secondary damage sources.

Accuracy: DEX (*4) + Fight (2) + Brawl (1) - 2 Actions = 5D6
Damage: STR (*5) + (?) Power (A bit confused about this one) + 1 STAB = ?D6
5D6 vs Gallade
?D6 vs Gardevoir (If Gallade is fainted)
Effect: Hight Crit Chance

So, Accuracy looks good.  Second action will have a -3 Actions accuracy penalty to it since you're using 2 actions this round.

Damage is Strength (essentially attack from the games) plus the move's power (essentially the move's base power in the games.  you can find all the information you need on moves and stuff in the core book) plus STAB - foe's defense.  Add your strength, the move's power, 1 from the Mega Boost, 1 from STAB, and that's your base dice pool for damage.  I'm not entirely sure what our opponents' defense scores are, unfortunately, but Windos can handle that.

So, you have 3 Strength, right?  So that means your damage pool before anything else is factored in is 4* Strength + 3 Power + 1 STAB = 8 D6 base.

Also, the pain penalization thing doesn't kick in until you've lost 2 HP.  -2 HP is -1 Pain, Half HP is -2 Pain, 1 HP is -3 Pain.  Though for you those would be Strength buffs instead.

It's mostly right, just needs a little work before it's entirely correct.

@Spiritmon

Thinking about it, if Gallade faints, you might want to use Metal Claw on Gardevoir instead of Leaf Blade.  Since Pain penalties buff your strength instead of lowering your accuracy, that'd probably be a better conditional action to specify.

This is what your Leaf Blade looks like in Corebook.

The single red Substitute-Doll indicates that the move hits one opponent.

The red "!" indicates the move inflicts lethal damage, don't forget to state whether you want your Pokemon to use full power (deals lethal damage) or to restrain itself (deals non-lethal damage).

The yellow "!" indicates that the move has a high chance to deal a critical hit, you got this right.

And Metal Claw, if you want to use it on Gardevoir as Dragonstrike states:

This move again hits one opponent, has minus 1 dice on its Accuracy, but therefor 1 dice will be rolled to determine whether your Strength is raised by 1 or not.
