[Guide] [Competitive] Tracton
#11
you are godawful lol.

1. "Shame it's 100 Speed is average"
Did you forget it has speed boost and learns protect. You can make it +1 stage from the start.

2. "Who knew Tracton can have such a good supporting movepool?"
and you only give it 2 supporting moves.. Also, it doesn't even get baton pass to pass some speed from it's boosts or defense from iron defense. It does not have a good supportive move pool. Furthermore, "Anti- lead"? What do you mean by this? How are you gonna anti the opponent's inflagatah mega that they send in on the first turn? What about their prankster whimsicott that taunts you on the first turn? what are you gonna do then? This is called a "support pokemon". Get your terms right.

3. "If using Analytic, however, a Choice Scarf along with Jolly is needed to ouspeed everything relevant unboosted that isn't M-Inflagetah"
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
analytic activates when the opponent is faster.

I'm not even gonna read the rest. You are a horrible competitive player that doesn't even do research before writing guides. You should remove this.

And if you want to know why I am so angry? You insulted my favorite Pokemon by writing this guide.

Sorry, but I don't think you got the intention of my Substitute set. Main purpose of the set is to wear down your opponent with poison by repeating protect and substitute. So, either using Toxic yourself or your teammate using Toxic Spikes is must, and I suggest the latter, so it should be written in the guide.

As it can't repeat protect-substitute loop forever(healing of Leftovers isn't enough to cover HP decrease by Sub), you do need something to attack. But Outrage shouldn't be the choice, not because it confuses you, but because it forces you to use Outrage for few turns. You would want to Protect again after attacking once, so change Outrage to some other attack, like Iron Head.

@Bayneko:
Ok.
1. I did. It's on the next paragraph.
2. 2 is all it needs, I'll probably change "support" to "lead". And lead is a pokemon that goes first and set up rocks or crippling the opposite 'mon. Anti-lead is a pokemon that prevents the lead from doing it's job .Whimsicott is an Anti-lead, and frankly a better one. Inflagetah is also an Anti-lead, and Anti as in killing the lead. The Anti-lead set is to Taunt the the lead (the one that sets up rocks) and then set up rocks itself. This is not a support set.
3. Analytic is there to hit the opponent when they are switching. Please refer to Dragonstrike's posts for this aspect. Choice Scarf is there for when Tracton have to stay in. Analytic boosts are not worth Tracton being down, due to those subpar Defenses. And you can use Choice Band if you invests in (both) Defense and/or HP.
Overrall, if you have a problem with my guide, please express it in a civil way. And if you don't like it, don't follow it. That's it.
@tarutaru:
I'm sorry if I didn't catch the point of your set. I will be fixing it shortly.

Not exactly being a fair judge, are you. Call me a white knight, but for a first attempt, they did a decent job a making a guide, and they can always improve upon it with helpful feedback. Caustic criticism like yours only serves to plug their ears, or outright stop them from trying to improve upon their mistakes. Please, if you have a problem with something a person does or says, why not discuss it peacefully? Uranium is all about cooperation, not toxicity. At least, not yet (or ever, hopefully...).

I don't mind people uploading more content, but I dont like how people can upload bad content. Unfortunately, I think @crulla 's showcase is a very bad showcase. I will help her brush it up in the future I hope, but im busy irl too >.<

Almost all of her terms to what he/she wants to describe traction are false, and she is clearly a very, very very new person to competitive. She doesn't even know how its abilities work!! I don't mind people trying to put effort into developing a showcase, but I do dislike it when its not properly termed, not properly addressed, or not properly recognized. Having just Taunt in your arsenal does not make it a "good support". Having access to such a move is just a utility, and therefore should be properly addressed as so, for an instance.

@Bayneko may be spreading toxic hate (which is why competitive battlers tend to have a bad reputation..) but I agree with some of her points. Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to spread hate. But I'm definitely here to stop spreading misinformation. Applauses to @crulla for attempting, but this is definitely a bad Pokemon Showcase that badly needs improvements. All in all though, Tracton imo a really good mon, and it is still one worthy of a showcase.

Let us give it the proper recognition it deserves... In due time.

I agree that i was harsh on this one. But you have to admit, it's god awful.
The fact is that, I,  a casual player, read this guide and cringed hard. I think that says something about how bad this guide is. It's nice that people want to write this, but a bad guide will mislead people like myself (or make us cringe). So unless they put up a notice in the first line saying along the lines of "this is just a test guide, follow at your own risk", i think it deserves every bit of criticism any other regular guide should get. And if it is awful, for the sake of other casual players who might have come here to learn something,  YOU should not be endorsing it.

Fair enough, I suppose. It's not a very good guide, in many aspect. I just got defensive (for their sake) about that toxicity. I though it was poorly made and presented, but I bit my tongue and let others criticize it. I'm pessimistic enough in my day to day life; I rather not spread it here in the forums.

Their first attempt was a bad one, but I do hope they can only improve in the future. If they listen and accept help from the community, that is...
