~ Note: With the re-introduction of Virtual Trainers and Live Battling, the League should be re-opening for challenges in the near future. Check back often to see when we go live! ~

Greetings to all!

Welcome to the all-new Tandor Casual League 2.0! Since I apparently cannot find a complete saved copy of the original League text from Version 1.0, I am going to start over fresh. And hopefully, things will be a lot more simple and less tiring to read than before.

But first, a little League history.

In my days as a Pokemon TCGO Player, we used to have challenge-able leagues on the official Pokemon forums where gym leaders and Elite 4 members could be battled at varying levels. The general way it worked was that you had to battle either a set group of gym leaders or Frontier Brains (ect. since i don't know what they have now) before you could challenge a set group of Elite 4. At one point, I think one league even experimented with a single Elite 4 member challenge after so many gym badges obtained. There were "saving point stages" where you could keep your gym badges currently earned in that challenge if you beat so many gym leaders in sequence. A loss would put you back at your previous save level. If you had no previous save level, you lose the badges you had up till that point. Wins and losses were reported by the gym leader/Elite 4 member. A cooldown period following a loss was enforced.

Off this model, I helped create the Tandor Casual League. If I remember right, a large amount of assistance came from early League members such as Iron, Lord Ozma, and Polaris. After that. others joined, and the rest is history.

This league has been in existence since on or around October 2015. The Tandor Casual League was originally designed as a place for League-style forum challenge, without the need for everyone to have hyper-competitive pokemon. As time went on however, I began to understand the way 31 IV pokemon work somewhat, and have since then relaxed my stance to allow them into the League. Thus, both types of pokemon are welcome. Just don't give me cause to re-cant my prior statements...haha.

The Tandor Casual League went into Open Beta in January of 2016, but then went on open hiatus until the release of 1.0. After that, it operated for a time, and was even challenged. But then shifts in the leadership of Pokemon Uranium, combined with a few in-game problems vital to the League's operation forced us to close up shop for a while.

However, we are now back! And with operational VT's we are closer than ever to re-opening the League for challengers. So please read the rules/levels below, and challenge the league at your leisure. And thanks for your interest in the Tandor Casual League!

------
Levels of Challenge:
Primary level:  Gym Leader (s)
Secondary level:  Elite Four member (s)
Tertiary level:   Final Battle on Mt. Lanthanite vs. League Champion (Iron)

Rules:

1.  A challenger may have 6 pokemon and only 6 pokemon. A League member may have 6 pokemon and only 6 pokemon.
2.   Lanthan, Actan, and Urayne are banned from the League per League consensus. This applies to both challengers and League members.
3.  Psuedo-legendaries are allowed, but only one in your team.
4.  You are only allowed to have 1 of any given pokemon on your team. Evolutions of varying stage are allowed.
4.5 Held items are allowed.
5.  You may challenge gyms in any order you wish, but please request a challenge on the League thread or in a PM with the specific gym leader or Elite Four member you wish to challenge.
6.   Gym Leaders will primarily use Virtual Trainers, unless they wish to host a live battle at their discretion. Elite Four member battles are always conducted live.
7.  Should you lose a gym challenge, you are free to challenge again as soon as you like. Should you lose an Elite Four level battle, you will be put on a two day cool down period. During which time, you will not be able to challenge any league member. The same cool down applies for the Mt. Lanthanite Final Battle.
8.  All battles are single battles, unless noted otherwise by the specific League member to the League.
9.  Changing teams between gym leaders, elite four members, and Final Battle levels is allowed.
9.5  Elite Four members may have a special individual rule that only applies to their challenge. You will find out this rule when you challenge them, or before.
10. The challenger must report all wins via a screenshot on the League Battle Reporting thread in the Competitive Section of the Forums. It is clearly labeled as such. I will link it here also:
11.  If the event of game glitches interrupting matches, I will recommend the following solution. two glitches in a single match by one participating party results in a win for the other party. League member or challenger alike.
12.  League Members must report their wins on the League GoogleDocs Spreadsheet. Only League members will have access to this spreadsheet.
13.  No cheating engines, cheating software, or other such programs will be allowed to manipulate challenger or League pokemon. If the League is notified of such an instance, and it is confirmed, I reserve the right to indefinitely suspend you from the League.
14.  Have fun! this is meant to be a challenge, so don't expect our gym leaders / Elite Four members to be pushovers. Their teams should not be impossible to defeat, but may put up some resistance. If at first you don't succeed, try and try again!
15.  There may be prizes awarded to those who complete the entire League challenge!
16.  Anything else I missed.

Greetings.

All of our Elite Four positions have been filled at the moment. These are standing positions, for life basically, unless the person steps down or is removed by the League for whatever reason.  A collapse of the forums for whatever reason is simply a new skin for the old League, more-or-less.

We may have gym leader positions open as available. The League has a bit of history behind it. We have been around since Sept/October of 2015 as far as Pokemon Uranium goes. So basically from 4.3 and before I believe. We went into Open Beta in January of 2016. But with the release of Uranium 1.0, we went on a bit of an open hiatus until 1.0 came out since so many League members wanted the new Pokemon to complete their gym / Elite Four teams.

When 1.0 came out, it became necessary to do a bit of Cleaning house with the League roster-since so much time had passed between TCL Open Beta and Uranium 1.0 release. At that point we said goodbye to a number of old members and added a few new ones at both the Elite Four level and Gym leader level.

As it stands right now, our New League Headquarters is based on Mt. Lanthanite.

As it stands right now, our League Champion and "League President" is League member Iron.

As it stands right now, our Elite Four members in good standing are: Iron (Hidden Abilities,) Lord Ozma (Electric Type,) Neversaw (?,) and Sovest555 (Nuclear-Type.)

Our confirmed Gym Leaders as of Uranium 1.0 are: Lord Ozma (Water-Type,) Polaris (Eeveelutions Theme,) Iron (Poison-Type,) Keybrdkid09 (Ghost-Type,) UnrefinedStyle (Ice-Type/Hail Theme,) and anyone I left out.

Sorry....without the old League data in front of me, I'm going for memory here. If I left your name out, post here and I will probably remember. And vice versa if you try to say you were a league member before and weren't ect.

We welcome new members, but there is sort of a process to go through before you will be confirmed as a Gym Leader. First, you must pick a general level for your gym team. And a suggested challenger Level. Meaning lets say your team is from level 33-37. You might then suggest your challenger's keep their teams between level 33-37 when challenging you. You will need a team of 6 pokemon. 31 Ivs are allowed, but not required. This League was originally created to counter the competitive nature of everyone's teams. However, I have relaxed my stance on this a bit. It would behoove you not to make me consider otherwise.

Held items are allowed. Actan, Lanthan, and Urayne have been banned by League consensus. There is also a limit to 1 of any Pokemon on your gym team. Evolutions are allowed...for now. You must pick one of three options: a Theme gym (such as eeveelutions), a Multi-type gym (more than one type in a 3-3 4-2 ratio), or a Type gym (one type with perhaps one out-of-type inclusion allowed if it complements your team.) We try to discourage too much similarity between gyms, to give the League some variation. Therefore, the League can and will veto gym ideas if we find it overlaps too much with someone else's pre-existing team. This has happened on several occasions, so don't be surprised if it happens again. An easy way to solve this problem is simply to post on the League thread your idea before you work on it so that we know the League approves of it.

After you have completed your team to your liking (and Live Battling/VT's have been restored in some fashion,) contact either myself or a League Member, and we will help you test your team.

Once testing has been completed, we will give your further necessary League instructions. Once instructions have been followed, we will elect to confirm you as a Gym Leader.
Sincerely,
                Key

Saw this back on Official. The only thing I want re-clarifications is if the E4 leaders will have the choice of setting the battle.

Simply put, is this league purely in singles? or both singles and doubles? And if the later, will this ability to decide the battle style be randomized bby the third party, or will the leaders themselves be setting this on their own accord?

If everything goes swimmingly, I can see these kind of stuff have a kind of league like the Reborn League (imo the most intensive league ever established so far by the fans of the Pokemon Reborn fangame, where depending on which season you participated, has different Rules and what not; In general you, the challenger need to defeat the 17 Leaders of each type which is tiered by how well each Gym Leader faced each other in the prelimenaries, of which, the final Leader is the Champion of the 17 Leaders. Only a single, non-exchangable team is permitted throughout the entire course of the league) and that would be very, very fun with these Fakemons available to us in PU.

And no, I'm not expecting such a league to be established. Takes real manpower and management to conduct (yes, all 17 Leaders are actual people and not AI) and therefore needs more stable... everything, really. Just mentioning this cause I genuinely enjoyed the Reborn League, and how it played out despite their own share of difficulties. Would be fun if we have more than just 4 people and a Champion.

As a general overall answer to all your questions, there are Rules that apply to this League. But I haven't filled them in on Page 1 on the TCL Reboot 2.0 page yet. It may take me a bit of time, but we are not in a hurry anyway since we have no functioning live battles or VT's yet.

As to more specific answers to the italicized questions:

Q:  The only thing I want re-clarifications is if the E4 leaders will have the choice of setting the battle.
A:   Yes the Elite Four Members have control over their own battles and special rules. The League allows Elite Four Members only to have a special rule concerning their live battles that is unique to each Elite Four member specifically.

Q:  Simply put, is this league purely in singles?
A:   Yes...for now. I believe the old League reasoning was: we are having enough trouble with trying to complete a full single 6v6 battle that trying to do it successfully with doubles would only probably cause more problems. So the idea was never fully explored. However, I am not opposed to the idea at say, the Elite Four level. If one E4 wanted to make double only battles their special rule. Or even opening up the idea to Gym leaders, at their discretion. We can discuss this as a League consensus. But like I said before, none of this becomes relevant until we have some form of functioning Live battling system or Virtual Trainer system.

Q:  will this ability to decide the battle style be randomized bby the third party?
A:   At the moment, I have no plans to randomize it. I would be happy with a simple stream of reported wins/losses. In a similar answer to the previous question, just getting single battles to function properly in 4.3 and 1.0 is a large enough challenge for now-until we see some major improvements to the Online battling system.  I am not opposed to a random choice, but I think it would be difficult to enforce. It would required two League members to be present per battle-which may not always be possible depending on availability ect. It might be easier in the long run just to get League members control over their own battles.
Sincerely,

I remember seeing TCL on the old forums but I was always reluctant to join . . . Anyways this seems like a good opportunity to play test teams and get some practice in on players who are not AI.

Just one question. Will there be or are there universal rules that govern all battles with gym leaders and the Elite Four?

I know at least the E4 gets to set its own battles, and that each leader has their own team to make and test own team, so they should have a little say in how their battles go.

Yes there are universal rules governing battles. I will post them when I have a chance to do so. And yes Gym Leaders have a say in their formats in their own battles. And whether to use VT's only or live battles ect.

I might be interested in making a team based off the sea. Would that be eligible?

We already had at least one other person that was interested in making a water-type gym vetoed because Lord Ozma is the acting Water-Type gym leader (and electric-type Elite Four member.)

Thus, the proposed gym crossed over too much with Ozma's idea. So I would think another water type gym would be in danger of doing the same.

Since we recently scrubbed the League roster after the release of 1.0, there are more possibilities available now than there were before. I recommend picking some thing that is available instead of trying to do another water type gym.

Now if Ozma were to leave at some point in the future (which he has proposed, but I am not choosing to accept until I know for certain he is actually going to leave this time..hehe,) that might make things different. But until such time, I am keeping Lord Ozma's spot open unless it becomes inconvenient to the League to do so. We also have a rule about League member inactivity, which could come into play eventually. Since I haven't re-published that rule yet, and since technically the League is still on hiatus until I see evidence of a working Online battling system, Lord Ozma is still safe.

P.S:

If anyone has seen Polaris, or knows of his new alias on this forum if it exists, please have him post here.

I am considering giving him a long overdue promotion, as a ranking member of the Tandor Casual League (and if he chooses to accept it,) to the position of Elite Four member.

It has come to my attention that it may be necessary to replace Sovest555 for the time being.

Should Polaris decline, I will take other ideas from existing league members or suggest a new candidate for consideration.

Should Lord Ozma eventually choose to step down (actually, this time...heh,) I will take similar suggestions from League members and or suggest a new candidate for consideration.

As of right now, Iron and Neversaw will retain their positions as Elite Four members until I am notified otherwise.
