Change the name of traded pokes
#1
Traded pokes are great, they gain boosted exp, hence less time needed to level. However, the biggest drawback is you can't change the nickname given.

So, I would suggest to be able to change the nickname of traded pokemon. Honestly, I don't understand this limitation even in the original game.

Well, it's stated that a given nickname showes some affection/appreciation of the OT to the particular Pokemon. C:

How about if you change the name of a traded pokemon, their happiness is reset to 0

Yeah, I hated going through the whole game with a Baariette called Youaman. Twice.

Doesn't the act of trading already reset happiness? So technically changing the name of the mon right after you got it would result in no consequences...

Not all pokémon's base happiness is 0.

This type of update is just a quality of life thing, and shouldn't to difficult or impactful on the gameplay if the change is implement (if at all). Hopefully the change comes to fruition, for I would like to change my Beliaddon's name to Lascael.

Lascael...... what a nice name for this demonic creature.

I saw the ability to change a traded Pokemon's nickname came up in another RPGMaker-based Pokemon fangame. So it's possible to implement, but I honestly don't think it would be a very high-priority change.

I wouldn't mind having the option myself in the future, but for right now I'd rather things like the problems with the Online Lobby be fixed first. And Angelure and the missing legendaries added in (even though I'm not at that point in-game yet).

Meh, I would be against this as it's not in any of the core games. I mean, it would be like picking up an 8 year-old dog from the pound named Brownie and changing its name to Fluffy. That results in a confused dog.
