Baby Diary

Been breeding a bit after finishing the game a few weeks ago.  Blush

Baby #1
I love Yatagaryu. It's my second favourite Pokemon in the game - first being Duplicat - so this is naturally my first choice for my initial foray into breeding. This took a few tries. At first I was breeding Modest babies, but then as I was playing around with my main non-shiny Yatagaryu, I realised the extra damage is really overkill, so I had to start from middle again for a Timid parent.

This one is kinda unintentional. I still love it though. I picked up a Frynai egg off Wonder Trade and it hatched into 5IV HA female with the correct Jolly IV spread, and I had also just traded for a foreign Magikarp male which refused to produce a good baby with my Magikarp female, so I decided to try a different pairing, and this just popped out 7 eggs later.

Baby #3
The OP Inflagetah. I wanted one too. I bred 6 boxes without getting any shiny and was on the verge of giving up, and then this happened.

Baby #4
Got a HA mother from @MonkeyLord83 the other day, and some chain breeding and a few boxes later... I got 3, or maybe 4, other shiny Gligars before hitting this one with the correct ability and IV spread. This, along with my other ongoing Cassnail project which had failed spectacularly thus far, made realised how extremely lucky I was with my Frynai baby.

So, these are my babies thus far.

Looking for some suggestions on what to do next. They look nice to me, but I don't really know what to do with them, or what I'm doing at all really. I just know how to breed. I'm going to work on the Cassnail some more, but I think my team is lacking in other departments. Considering Syrenetide and Sableye. Good idea?

Also I'm giving away some of my non-shiny 5IV babies if anyone wants any. Detail on Reddit but you can PM me here too.

While i'm not here for the babies, (unless you got an eevee which i can give you a shiny tonemy for) I came to ask a question.

What's the best IV spread for a Volchik?

Mine is the same as your shiny one, high in attack and low in speed(or whatever the blue and red things mean). Is that good? is it bad? (Also, it's Timid in nature. But i got it off of wondertrade. No way i got a prefectly good competitvely suited pokemon off of wondetrade! Right?)

I'm no expert when it comes to competitive. Based on my research on Yatagaryu though, it seems Timid (for more speed) and Modest (for more damage) are the most appropriate natures for it, and I settled on Timid. It's a special attacker so having 0 in physical attack shouldn't matter (I think).

The common moveset seems to be Thunder/Dragon Pulse/Nasty Plot/whatever with 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP in EVs.

EDIT: Uh I just read your post more closely, RED is the bonus and BLUE is the penalty. It's high in speed and low in physical attack.

So what you're saying is i got a perfectly good volchik with JUST the right nature...

OFF OF WONDERTRADE?

Even comes up with 5 IV.

Anyway, it's very nice too see how you seem to value your self-breeded, good IV shinys. Thanks a lot for sharing here! ^-^

Gender doesn't matter on Inflagetah though?

I tried getting a good 5IV shiny Seikamater for a bit before deciding it's a crazy idea. I might return to that someday.

Just wanted to show off.  Tongue

Planning on a shiny playthrough, and an eventual full living shinydex. Going to have fun soft-resetting for that shiny Garlikid.

No, gender doesn't matter on that species, but it just adds another layer of rarity to that shiny. (Flagers have a 12.5% chance of being female.)
