So thinking about the unresolved plotlines that the new team are left with, this is obviously the biggest one. There are plenty of clues but most was a mystery so let's rundown what we have.
We know the pirate captain is a ruthless woman inspiring fear in her underlings. All I can see is:
Angelure Town has a rough map in the game files.
![[Image: latest?cb=20160830015012]](http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/pokemon-uranium/images/7/79/Angelurebeta.png/revision/latest?cb=20160830015012)
This was originally going to be the location of the 8th Gym. In fact Bamb'o even says it is the 8th accidentally instead of Tsukinami. What if the pirate captain was once a Gym Leader? But what would lead her to a path of corruption?
That's where we have the sea monsters, it would make sense for the pirate plot to intersect with them, so could the pirates be hunting them to use in their schemes? Personally that would make them a little too close to Team Aqua. But what if the pirates are hunting them out of revenge, the former Leader turned pirate goes all Ahab after her whales. Paint her as someone whose road to hell was paved with good intentions.
Her team: Navighast (obviously), (Mega) Syrentide, Lavent, Krilvolver, Corsoreef, Tubareel. Themed but with a little diversity thrown in. Probably used in reverse order of what I typed.
I know so many are looking forward to the inclusion of the sea monsters and I wish the new team all the best in bringing the much anticipated future of Uranium to life and of course am grateful for them stepping in and keeping the game alive.

I'm more interested to know how detailed a direction the new official devs were given by the old official ones (referring to a Reddit comment I don't have the link for right now that's given me some hope for this to turn out how it was supposed to). Were they told exactly what and who are meant to appear when and where, and who says what when, or were they only given a general guideline of "These guys do this, then the legendaries that haven't appeared yet appear here and here when this happens" and the rest is just done on the fly?

Here's the thing though, JV and Twitch, and everyone else can get into legal trouble with Nintendo if there's any known link between them and the current/new devs. So even if there's anything, in the public eyes, it must be clear that the new devs have no connection with the old ones. Let that sink in... Given said that, the official answer will always be that JV and Twitch have nothing to do with Uranium anymore and what the current devs are doing now is completely on their own.

The only thing "official" I've seen is that JV and Twitch arent working on the game and are ok with the new team doing their thing. Anything else would just be speculation.
Even the upcoming content doesnt play out quite the way it does in my head, I'm happy there's a passionate team keeping things alive. Uranium is special, it's a love letter.

I think I've been misunderstood. See this post on Reddit. What I'm curious about is how detailed that "direction" is.

I think I've been misunderstood. See this post on Reddit. What I'm curious about is how detailed that "direction" is. and you're curious because? What purpose or necessity would it serve you to know/find out? What difference would it make? Do you fear the current devs and team incapable of filling the old one's shoes? Don't get me wrong, I get that you want to know how much this game is following original plans, but original don't necessary means better, things change with time. In addition, when all the original plans have been followed, do you want game to stop developing? Or would you still want new updates? The concerns should be focused on what's best for the game moving forward and the fact that the new team have the old one's blessings and are trying their best to keep the game alive and flourish.
But if you're still THAT curious and seek answer, follow my signature to the Discord to ask the team yourself, most (if not all of them) hang out there these days...

Monkey, I do not think they are be a downing Debbie on new ideas from the new team. I think they are just concerned with whether or not the old ideas would come into fruition. I have faith that whatever direction the game goes into will be one that I will like, especially since those updates are being made by people honestly invest in the community. Some people can be skeptical, though, when unforeseen developments occur. At least, that is what I believe is the case here. I could be wrong, after all.

I almost feel like I've done something wrong by even bringing it up now, but yes, I get that original might not mean better, and no, I'm not trying to give the impression that that's where they should stop. I'm only saying that I'm hoping whatever amount of info they got from the original devs is enough to take the game as far as possible without ruining the overall tone or style of it. I'm not expecting any cheap cop-out, in fact given the broad range of possibilities that the story COULD go with going forward I don't think it's possible to ruin it, but the tiny inner skeptic in me does have that bit of concern that the story won't end as well as it could (not that the game ends when the story does, of course).

I get that, that's why I suggested you go talk to the team yourself and get to know them (I have, so I get a little defensive against doubts). They are all hard-working, dedicated fans who have tried hard, stayed up late or pull all-nighter nights after nights just so an update is out ASAP. They do make mistakes and the last 2 patches both had to come with hot fixes, but it's understandable. And I was serious about paying them a little visit, they are also cool people to hang out with...

Indeed they are. I think one of the Devs gave me my first Devimp, so they are definitely alright in my book!
