[Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery
(02-09-2020, 06:43 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: Hmm....okay, fair enough. My knee jerk reaction was I didn't very well like Insta-KOes being dumped or threatened on us without good reason (Like getting caught up in an avalanche being a very good reason to get KOed and/or die), but when you put it like that I can see why you went ahead with it. NowmMe thinks Kogeki/Spirt is better off letting Daikatuna Faint and the Revive + Healing him (Via Heal Pulse and/or Wish and Berries ideally) and letting the Absol get away then, as if he's only going to lose one Pokemon to Perish Song its not a huge deal since that only = 1 Revive lost or Pokemon offline for 2 Encounters while the Nurse take care of it via the magic of the Portable PC.

To lessen some frustrations in advance regarding that, won't even have to spend any items to get the full heal once the encounter is over.

You guys are handling this dungeon really well so far. Wink

Excelent! I might have a excelent plan to put a end to this battle once and for all. I have Heracross in my party equipped with Kings Rock. Even if Absol survive a barrage of Arms Thrusts (which I think its not gonna happen) each hit will manage to give a D1 chance each to Flinch. And to Susanoo finish of him. Time to put my plan into action.

Ooooh, a Ditto! That's a mighty fine find you got there if you can Catch it, Spirit! We all know how good and useful they were in Iron's Pokerole, and even going by my rules for Transform having a Pokemon Ditto and any Pokemon that can use the Move is pretty useful in general! Heck, with Dragonstrike's version of Pokerole, Ditto is arguably stronger than ever, since you really don't have to worry about its Attributes other than HP and DEX , and even DEX can be ignore in favor of uping Survival and Alert instead. All that being said, what ARE your rules for governing Transformation mechanics, Dragonstrike? Iron's, mine, or you got your own version of it brewed up?

If you're interested, Ran would be willing to trade away his Big Nugget and/or his Sword Dance for that Ditto, if its not too Disobedient.

A Ditto! Now that's a awesome surprise. Took a lot of work to beat him, but it was worth it.

Thanks mate. As much dangerous it might be be sometimes, I think it is worth risk a little sometimes.

Depending of the stats of Ditto, Kogeki might want the copy Pokemon in his party, but depending in how things go, I might want to trade.

If it wasn't clear, that Ditto was basically an exact copy of my Absol mini boss. Wink  It'll behave much the same way when Transforming into most pokemon, which is similar to how it worked in CCV.  The rulebook does specify that Transform copies Ability, Attributes, Trait Modifiers, and Moves.

There are exceptions, of course.  A Ditto can't truly copy a Legendary pokemon's powers, for example.

For now, I'd like to limit Transform to line of sight for simplicity, but memory Transformations will likely be possible at a later date.

Alright, I've decide I will spend 46 XP on Insight being raised to 5 for Ran, and 6 XP to raise his Contest Skill to 1. That's all I'm willing to sink into the Contest Skill Tree for now, and I've been waiting for an appropriete moment to raise Ran's Insight for awhile now, so even if a Roll isn't required engaging with his fellow man and the revelations he's had on this job would be enough to spark that growth IC, imo .
