Uranium Got Nominated for Fan Game of the Year
#21
Involuntary Twitch tweeted "It was worth a shot" when she heard this news, so I suspect it was not the devs of Uranium who had it taken down.

Lots and lots of fangames are illegal so it is a strange category to begin with.

It wasn't Twitch or JV that pulled it and it certainty wasn't us. The fact that AM2R got pulled at the same time makes it all but certain that Nintendo was behind it. Doesn't really bother me I didn't expect to win. If anything this is a good thing, getting removed shifts some media attention back to us.

Stay cautious. And abstain from insults, please...

Oh, boo. Sad

Well, again... double-edged sword.  My feelings on this are just as mixed as my feelings on the original nomination.  Uranium is definitely well-deserving of even a nomination (so is AM2R, from what I've heard, though I actually haven't played it myself), possibly even a win.  But at the same time, maybe it's for the best that it slides back under the radar... Confused

I do wonder who prompted it to be removed from the nominations, though?  Nintendo?  The devs?  The people who make the polls themselves after realizing both games were under a takedown notice?  It is rather curious... Undecided

To be honest, i dont know how to feel. I feel anger because i think thats have a finger with Nintendo, but i dont know. But i feel a little releaf too, because this atention will not come to us. For now, we are safe from Nintendo radar.

I sent E-mails out on Monday after being contacted by Eurogamer. No response yet, but I plan to find out just what happened. Smile

Even though I somewhat agree with your sentiments Let's not forget that Nintendo (or rather, its legal team anyway) is just looking out for its IP, and without Nintendo, we wouldn't even have had a Pokemon Uranium to begin with.

That's the thing though one of the game awards rules is that companies can not get involved at all with the nomination of games or removal of them.
