[Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows
Huh, Super Mystery Dungeon's Boss Theme is a strange remix. Not bad, but somewhat off... The one from RT Red/Blue's still my favorite and the best one [or so I feel])

---------------------

Walking down the path and being semi-lost in his thoughts - he was just mulling over whether he hasn't been a tad bit too hard on Kogeki, apologizing at the soonest opportunity sounds reasoned and like the right thing to do - Kee was suddenly brought to a halt when Marcus rushed by and pointed out to the exit of this forest. ...THE EXIT, it's so close, all of Kee's attention is brought to said exit, he'll only have to bring this exit past himself to (hopefully/at best/likely) to get into that elusive 'town' the craftsmon has been mentioning, he can literally feeeeeeel how his own excitement charges up every single soft Ziggy-hair of his fur!!1!!!1

...Either that, or it was the excitement of a good battle against the vivid rocks that crossed their path. He smiles a sly ad toothy grin to himself as he gets into a defensive and agile stance, he looks ready to pounce any moment. "Huh, I guess that'll be what ya'd call a 'Boss Battle' in an RPG or roguelike, won't it?~ ( ÒωÓ)و☆"

Is it possible to take some cover in between some rocks OR within those 'exceedingly tall trees growing from the ground below, stretching past the height of the cliff itself'? They're stationary and scenery, so it doesn't take an Action. If it is, Kee will do so!

"*cue one of Kee's most sarcastic tone of voice* Ohhh, so this cliff is yar territory 'n turf? Sorreh, didn't know that. Well, have some of yar turf then, Boldore!~~"

Accuracy Roll Kee's Sand Attack into Boldore's eye: 2 Dext + 2 Fight + 0 Channel + 2 SingleAction Bonus = 6d6
Effect: -1 Accuracy for Boldore.
Secondary Effect: Will look like this.

ALTERNATIVELY, shall Boldore be dropped to 1 or 2HP by the time it's Kee's turn, he'll instead rant, growl and snarl them and one of their minions into oblivion!

Accuracy Roll Kee's Snarl: 2 Dext + 2 Fight + 0 Channel - 1 Inaccuracy + 2 SingleAction Bonus = 5d6
Target: Boldore and the Roggenrola that's most hurt
Damage Roll: 2 Special + 2 power + STAB = 5d6
Additional notes: Will auto-lower Special of those hit by 1. Soundbased, so it'll bypass any cover.

There's no rocks big enough on the plateau to hide behind, and you can't hide behind the trees either because they aren't on the plateau at all, but the ground below, off the side of the cliff!  No Cover available currently.

*rolls*

Boldore issues orders to its subordinates for the Round.  "You two hit that Water type before they move, you other two do the same with the Ground type.  The Fire type is mine."

Boldore Round 1

The Roggenrola charge recklessly at the intruders that Boldore has instructed them to attack!

Headbutt x2 A
(6)(5)(2)(1)(6)
(6)(4)(3)(3)(5)
1* Str + 3 Pow - 2 Def = 2 D6 each
(6)(2)
(6)(5) Daxter takes a total of 3 damage! 2/5 HP -2 Pain
(2)(2)(1), (6)(2)(4) Daxter Flinches!

Daxter reels as the second rock pokemon collides with him, his focus broken by the sheer force of the impact.

Daxter Flinched!

Pyra lunges at the rocks' boss, fangs bared!  If they want to fight her, they're gonna get the luxury of some up close and personal time with her!  Boldore's crystals glow, charging a powerful attack as Pyra gets closer.

Bite
(5)(3)(5)(1)(4)(2)(1)
(4)(4) Boldore takes 2 damage!
Total: 2 damage, -1 Pain
(6)(6)(2) Boldore Flinches!
Some of the crystals on Boldore's body fall off as Pyra makes physical contact with the three legged Rock type, and it's suddenly a lot faster because of it!
Weak Armor activated! -1 Defense, +2 Dexterity!  Boldore is now second in the Initiative.

Much like Daxter, Boldore recoils as the attack connects.  The crystals stop glowing.

Boldore Flinched! 1

Karen yells again, this time at the Roggenrola attack Dax.  "Leave him alone, you bullies!"

Disarming Voice
(4)(4)(6)(5)(1)(6) The Roggenrola all cringe as Karen's voice hurts their eardrums!  The first Critiical Hit of the campaign!
2 Pow + 2 Spe + STAB - 1 Sp Def + 2 Crit = 6 D6
(6)(4)(2)(6)(3)(6) Both Roggenrola A take 4 damage! 1/5 HP -3 Pain

Kogeki's turn to lunge at the Rock type in the hopes of incapacitating it!

Bite
(6)(2)(3)(2)(3)(6)
(2)(1) No damage!
(5)(2)(5)

Kogeki's fangs are unable to find any kind of purchase on Boldore's rocky, crystal covered armor, unfortunately, and they throw the small Riolu off of them with ease.

Meanwhile, the other two Roggenrola are attacking Marcus with the same tactic that was used against Daxter: CHAAAAARRRRRGE!

Headbutt x2 B
(5)(4)(1)(5)(2)
(6)(5)(6)(6)(2)
(1)
(3) No damage!
(2)(3)(5), (5)(5)(3)

Marcus knocks both Roggenrola away with his bone, and Kee uses some of the dust and dirt kicked up by their impact with the ground to get some of it directly in Boldore's 'eyes'!

Sand Attack
(6)(3)(5)(2)(6)(6)
-1 Accuracy for Boldore!

"Good idea, Kee!  Alright, my turn while he's distracted!  Take this, you overgrown rock!"

*thud!!*

Bone Club
(5)(4)(2)(2)(3)(2)
2 + 3* + STAB - 2* Defense + SE = 4 D6 + 1
(2)(2)(1)(5) Boldore takes 2 damage!
Total: 4 damage, -2 Pain
(4)(1)

Boldore shakes its body violently, trying to clear its head and hearing from the assault.  Pyra takes advantage of the opening to use an item!

Pyra uses her Oran Berry on Daxter!  5/5 HP No Pain

Angry now, Boldore roars in defiance, charging at the closest enemy!  "No Dark or Ground type shall best us!  We will prevail! RRRRRRAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!"

Headbutt 2
4* Dex + 2 Fight + 2 Brawl - 4 Actions - 2 Pain - 1 Acc = 1 D6
(6)
2* Str + 3 Pow - 3 Defense = 2
(6)(3) Marcus takes 1 damage 5/6 HP
(6)(4)(2) Marcus Flinches!

Boldore retreats and issues more orders to its subordinates, the crystals on its body seemingly growing brighter in the waning sunlight.  "Regroup and reorganize!  We shall overcome these intruders and drive them from our home!"

The Roggenrola all back off slightly, but they're still surrounding the group, ready to attack when Boldore commands it.

Boldore Round 2 Initiatives
Roggenrola x2 A: (6) + 3 = 9
Boldore: (2) + 6* = 8
Daxter: (4) + 3 = 7
Pyra: (4) + 2 = 6
Karen: (4) + 1 = 5
Kogeki: (1) + 3 = 4
Roggenrola x2 B: (1) + 3 = 4
Kee: (2) + 2 = 4
Marcus: (1) + 2 = 3

Marcus will be Flinched for his first action of the next Round.  Boldore's crystals have also started glowing again, though not as brightly.

Seeing as the situation has not really changed all that much decisively, save for the Big Boldore Boss getting faster after getting freshly mauled by Pyra, the lil' demoness doesn't see much reason to not keep trying to naw and nibble them to Fainted with Bite as ferciously and painfully as possible. If she can't kill her friends and allies tormentors during or after the battle (without causing a fuss), she'll just try to inflict that much more agony upon them before they slip into the 'safety' of oblivion to still do justice for them, yes!

Order: Same as the last Round, only instead I'll make a Conditional Action for Pyra to try and Dodge instead of Biting at Boldore if they try to use a Rock type Move on her specifically. Don't like giving up damage or taking a gamble like that, but it's better than getting majorly chucked or KOed by a Power Gem or Smack Down!

Bite
Accuracy, Damage, and Effect: All Known

Evasion/Dodge (If Boldore tries to Rock Pyra's world)
Accuracy: DEX (2) + Fight (3) + Evasion (0) + Single Action (2) = 7D6 Base Dice
Effect: Known

Ah, then no seeking cover in between rock or within (not behind, that something different) those high trees. Seemingly being out of the line of fire, Kee uses this opportunity to let his voice be heard as he zigs and zags around the battlefield, despite the seriousness of the situation he somehow manages to remain calm and cool-headed. He can't afford any mistake now!

Accuracy Roll Kee's Snarl: 2 Dext + 2 Fight + 0 Channel - 1 Inaccuracy + 2 SingleAction Bonus = 5d6
Target: Boldore and the Roggenrola that is the most hurt

Dax chomped on the berry and felt the energy surging back into his body. He decided to give a frontal assault another shot. Hopefully, the damn rocks wouldn't flinch him again. He let loose another wave of bubbles, against the Boldore boss and one of the injured Roggenrola.

Bubble
Accuracy: 2 Dex + 2 Fight + 0 Channel +2 Single Action = 5d6
Damage: 2 Power + 2 Special + STAB + SE= 6D6
Additional Effects: 1D6 for a chance to lower each hit opponent's Dex by 1

Boldore Round 2

Boldore gives the Roggenrola more orders!  "You two keep hitting that Water type!  You two, deal with that Ground type while I bash that loudmouth Fairy!"

As ordered, the Roggenrola once again charge at Daxter!  This time, however, they're clumsier because their ears are still ringing from Karen's attack.

Headbutt x2 A
(5)(1) 1 Success
(3)(2) Miss!

WHOOSH!  Suddenly, Kogeki's in front of Daxter, his body colliding with one of the Roggenrola right before they make contact with the blue lizard!

Quick Attack Clash!
(6)(3)(1)(4)(2)(4) 3 successes!  Attack Clashed!

The impact bowls over both the Rock type and the Ghost type, knocking them to the ground!  Kogeki, however, stands up shortly after, practically unscathed.  The same cannot be said for his unconscious foe, however.

(3) Kogeki takes 0 damage
One of the Roggenrola A takes 1 damage and faints!

Meanwhile, Boldore's charging right at Karen, its crystals growing steadily brighter as they absorb sunlight!

Headbutt 1
4 + 2 + 2 - 2 - 1 - 2 = 3
(4)(4)(2)
2* Str + 3 Pow - 2* Def = 3
(6)(6)(1) Karen takes 2 damage! 2/4 HP -2 Pain
(2)(3)(1)

Karen stands firm, her strange badge glinting in the sunlight as well, even as Boldore stands over her threateningly.  Daxter's Bubble blowing quickly diverts their attention from the small empath, however!

Bubble
(5)(5)(4)(6)(5)(2) Is Daxter foaming at the mouth for battle, or is this just an excessive amount of bubble blowing?
Critical hit!
(4)(4) | (4)(2)(2), (4) Gonna try a new format for writing up Crits.  The two dice on the left are the critical dice.
Roggenrola A takes 5 damage and faints!
Boldore takes 4 damage!
Total: 8!
(-)
(-)

"Gaaaaaaaaaagggghhhhh!!!"

Boldore stumbles backwards as Daxter deals the final blow to the rock type, completely soaking them from crystal tips to toes.  It falls to one leg as it retreats from the battle and its crystals dim again.

Pyra, with no other targets, lunges at one of the remaining Roggenrola!

Bite
(5)(4)(2)(3)(5)(1)(3)
(4)(4)(5)  One of the Roggenrola B takes 3 damage!  2/5 HP -2 Pain
(5)(5)(4)
Weak Armor triggers! -1 Def, +2 Dex!

Karen obviously objects to what Boldore just said about her.  She punctuates her retort with another attack!  "Who are you calling a loudmouth?!"

Disarming Voice
(4)(3)(3)(6)
(5)(1)(3), (5)
Both Roggenrola B take 2 damage, and one of them faints! 3/5 HP -1 Pain
Total: 8!

The remaining Roggenrola charges forwards, following the last command their leader gave them!

Headbutt B
(6)(5)(4)(3)
(1) No damage to Marcus
(-)(-)(-) Marcus can't yet be Flinched again because he's still recovering from his current Flinch status.

Kee's growling reaches their ears soon after, however, and they soon regret their decision to attack!

Snarl
(6)(2)(1)(4)(1)
(5)(5)(5)(5)
Roggenrola B takes 4 damage and faints!

Marcus Flinched!

As Marcus starts to clear his head, Boldore weakly speaks up.

"...we've lost...strangers...you're strong...we'll retreat from these cliffs...they belong...to you now..."

The fainted Roggenrola all slowly come to and woozily stand up.  Disoriented as they are, they won't be fighting anything any time soon.  The same can also be said of Boldore, though the crystal decorated boulder seems to be made of tougher stuff than its minions, and doesn't look like it's going to simply pass out quite yet.

On Boldore's command, the whole rubble of Rock types stands aside to let the group past.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boldore has been defeated!  Everyone gets 8 exp!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Marcus nods to them, having little to say about their surrender.  He walks over to one of the crystals that had been chipped off of Boldore, picks it up, and stuffs it in his bag. Then he walks to the edge of the cliff, looks over it, and whistles.

"Long way down.  Looks like we can use the tree branches to get to ground level without much trouble if we're careful, though."

He then walks over to Karen and hands her an Oran Berry.

.jpg   Smiling Cubone.JPG (Size: 8.96 KB / Downloads: 76)

"Here.  You did great, as did everyone else.  You've earned this, and we can't have ya slipping and falling so close to our goal, right?"

Karen takes the berry and nods to Marcus before biting into it, fully restoring her HP"Thank you, Marcus."

Marcus (presumably) smiles, then dramatically points his bone club towards the horizon.  He's ready to lead the way to the exit!

"Alright then, ready to go when you all are!  Civilization awaits!"

Kogeki try to Bite previously Boldore. When he was throw away by the powerful enemy, he circle in the air, until he stand up in ground, without any damage. He see the young water dragon get surrounded by the Roggenrola once more, and decided to interceptate again.

On a flash of speed and power, Kogeki appear right in the front of Daxter. One of Roggenrola miss the attack on Daxter, while the other try to Headbutt the Ghost Anubis.

Bad choice.

"Normal dont work on Ghosts. Last mistake you ever did my friend." Kogeki said with a sinister smirk, Kunai raised in his side. "Kurayami Arts: Storm Sword!" He spin around his Kunai like a whipping-top or a pivot (I think thats the translation), taking the moment of Quick Attack to hit Roggenrola various times. Although Normal moves not be effective, the Roggenrola was already weak by the Attack, and the last strike enough strong to make the rock type bite the dust.

"Daxter! Now!" And he see the demonstration of power of the Water-type, getting the perfect moment to grounch and see the power of the companion defeat the last Roggenrola and Boldore. "*Whistle*" Said Kogeki holding his kunai sword with one hand. "Not bad kid. We are a good team."

Kogeki see his fainted foes, including the Boldore. Such powerful Aura as that Boldore...it would be a waste leave such power behind.

Kogeki was tempt to drain the aura of Boldore...until he remember what Kee and Karen said. He just sight and walk towards Kee. "We won. And we defeat a really powerful enemy...And I think I owe you a apology. But let me explain my reasons to absorb auras."

"I need to become strong. Strong enough to help us all. More powerful enemies will appear before us. And until you all reach your final forms, I want to be the Guardian, the one who protect everyone in the darkness. A ninja do what is necessary to protect your companions. Also..." Kogeki touch his snow scarf. "...This scarf means something to me in my previous life...I dont know why, but it is. I need to find answers. And I think...becoming a Lucario is the first step."

"But...I need to respect the place of authority in the moment. With your permission Kee, can I absorb a bit the Aura of Boldore? This guy is powerful, and I sure even he could resist the Aura Draining. However, I will spare the Aura of those Roggenrola since they already defeated and might need to carry Boldore out of here. But such enemy as Boldore have a really powerful Aura and could help increase my own Aura power."

For clarification, it should be noted that both Boldore and the Roggenrola are not completely unconscious. They're groggy, but still very much aware of their surroundings even though their rocks got washed.

"Woah. Thanks for the help Kogeki. That was smart." Dax said, looking at the defeated Boldore and Roggenrola. He turned his head to the Boldore.
"Sorry we moved in on your turf pal. We were just trying to get out of here. If it makes you feel any better, you and your crew are pretty damn tough. I would have been a goner if I didn't get that berry."
He then turned to Marcus. "Once we get down the cliff, is the place where we have to go far?"

I changed my mind again. Imma going to drain that Boldore Aura. Need all the power I can get. And I curious to see what kind of effect will happen if Kogeki absorb this guy Aura.

But going to wait Phantom input.
