[Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows
Quote:Daxter leads Kee and Klink down the second path, and the breeze picks up slightly as they continue down the corridor.  Just like with Pyra's group, the breeze quiets down when they enter the next room, and a stone door closes behind them.

In the room, a Mantyke peeks out of a pool of water in one corner, and the buzzing of a male Combee's wings can be heard coming from above.

-------
"Alright guys. We're up. Klink, your Thunder Shock is gonna pack a wallop against the blue thingie. Have at it mate! And Kee, I think my Scratch and Klink's lightning are gonna fry the blue one. Maybe focus more on the bug? You know what to do. I'll blast both of them with Bubble. Should be pretty easy guys!"

Kee curiously observes the room as he goes, sniffing here and there and scratching the walls there and here. Everything in this maze is just highly interesting for him and he's hyped to do some exploring!~

Coming by that Matyke and Combee in the room makes him show his teeth in a feisty manner, he's all ready for a bit of sparring against these two... So that smol creature in the water's a Flying Type too? How very interesting, yessss! ( ÒωÓ)و☆ Daxter gets an assuring nod -"Got it, I'ma gonna aim for that Combee then!!1"- and Klink an encouraging nudge -"Show it how ya're able t'blast it with some 'lectricity, yeah!!1"-  then Kee darts away to 'greet' that Combee in his style - which means hEAdFiRsT aND wITHoUt HOlDinG bACk!!1! 12XP are spent on Kee to permanently how to use Headbutt - those permanently learned moves are usable even at 0 Instinct, are they?

If Matyke has Water Absorb as an Ability and is unaffected by Dax's Bubble, Kee will snarrrrrrrl with all of his voice, causing an echo in the room.
Accuracy Roll: 2 Dext + 2 Fight + 0 Channel + - 1 Inaccuracy + 2 SingleAction Bonus = 5d6
Damage Roll: 2 Special + 2 Power + STAB = 5d6
Additional notes: Hits both Combee and Mantyke and auto-lowers their Special by 1, soundbased.

If Matyke does not have Water Absorb as an Ability and is affected by Dax's Bubble, it's time to headbutt that bee.
Accuracy Roll: 2 Dext + 2 Fight + 0 Brawl + 2 SingleAction Bonus = 6d6
Damage Roll: 1 Strength + 3 Power + STAB = 5d6
Additional notes: Has 3CD to flinch the foe.

Bug Maze Room 2, Round 1

Lumia hesitates momentarily before following Pyra's orders, seeming to think about what to do.  (If you want specific numbers and more, that's what the 'recruited pokemon' sheet I linked awhile back is for.)

When she does decide what to do, Lumia tries to cloak her target in as much fire as she possibly can, knowing that they're suuuuper vulnerable to it.

Fire Spin
4d6 + 2 - 2
(6)(4)(2)(6)
(5)(1)(2) Sewaddle takes 3 damage! 2/5 HP -2 Pain
Sewaddle becomes trapped by the flames!

Sewaddle panics slightly and tries to fight back with (arguably flammable) string.

String Shot 1
3d6 - 2 - 2 = -1
Luck Die!: (3) Bzzzzzt
Sewaddle ends up getting tangled in their own string, which seems to slow them down a little.  -1 Accuracy for Sewaddle

(I've been thinking about how to enforce Luck Dice versus moves failing in this Play by Post system, and I'm thinking about bringing Luck Dice into play when they're either a) requested by the player if the move would have an accuracy pool of 0 or less b) whenever the dice pool would become negative.  If the dice pool is exactly 0, there's no consequences.  What do you guys think about that rule?)

Pyra lunges.  Nom.

Bite 1
(6)(6)(4)(1)
(5)(6)(3) Sewaddle takes 2 damage and faints!

Burmy starts to swing back and forth from its position on the overhang as Karen channels her Psychic power into an attack.

Confusion
(5)(3)(3)(5)
(5)(2)(2)
Burmy takes 1 damage 4/5 HP
(4)

The momentum allows Burmy to launch itself at Pyra to try and bludgeon her.

Tackle
(5)(6)(4)(3)(5)
(3) No damage

Pyra just shrugs the weak physical attack off before mercilessly burning the poor bug in response.

Ember 2
(4)(2)
(4)(2)(3) Burmy takes 2 damage 2/5 HP -2 Pain
(6) Fwoosh!  Burmy is Burned 1!

Burmy takes 1 damage from its Burn 1.  1/5 HP -3 Pain

With Sewaddle KOed and Burmy about to be KOed the next turn, the remaining Bug type surrenders.  "I give up!  You win!  You can proceed to the next room!"

Two large stone doors stand at the other end of the room, and they slowly roll open as Burmy starts crawling towards a small pool of water in the room to extinguish its burn ASAP.

Karen, Pyra, and Lumia all gain 2 exp.

Flying Maze Room 2, Round 1

Bubble 1
(5)(3)(1)
(6)(3)(5)(6)(1)
Combee takes 3 damage 1/4 HP -3 Pain
Mantyke takes 0 damage
(1), (-)

Mantyke seems perfectly happy with frolicking in the bubbles that Daxter blows in their direction.  Combee, however, isn't so pleased, nearly being blasted out of the air by the sheer number of obstacles suddenly in its path.

Snarl
(6)(6)(1)(6)(6)
(3)(1), (3)(5)

Combee takes 1 damage and faints
Mantyke takes 0 damage
-1 Special for Mantyke

Kee follows up, his low growl causing Combee to cringe and pass out, while Mantyke still doesn't seem to be all that fazed by the attack.  The Water type does flinch slightly, their focus somewhat disturbed.  It's not enough to prevent them from attempting to fire off an attack of their own, however.

Bubble (Mantyke)
(5)(3)(2)(1)(1)

Thankfully, their own bubbles fly wildly around the room, their focus disturbed just enough to prevent them from aiming the attack properly.

Klink starts to spin both of its gears rapidly as it charges static electricity to zap the Mantyke, following Daxter's command without a second thought and a mechanical coldness.

Thunder Shock
(6)(1)(2)(4)(1)
(4) Mantyke takes 3 damage! 2/5 HP -2 Pain
(6) Mantyke is Paralyzed! -2 Dexterity

Completely unharmed for now, Daxter is easily able to attempt a follow up attack.

Scratch 2
(6)
(4)(2) Mantyke takes 1 damage 1/5 HP -3 Pain

Paralyzed and barely conscious, Mantyke starts sinking back into the pool they came from, their words bubbling up from the surface of the water.  "Okay, you got me!  Great job!  Please don't zap me again..."

Kee, Klink, and Daxter all get 2 exp.  The two doors that lead to the deeper chambers also open.
Reply
Daxter grins and just shrugs at the Mantyke. "Sorry about that, mate. Just training, you see. No hard feelings right? And uh, if you don't mind me asking, what's your secret to not being hurt by my Bubble? It'd be neat if I could do that too."

Turning to his teammates, he grins once again. "That seemed to work out okay. Any of you want the berry or the apple? I don't mind taking them, but if you'd like them, that's great too. I'd say we should take the right door. Just have a good feeling about the right."

Once the items are distributed, Daxter will lead Kee and Klink through the right doorway into the next room.
I'm no one special. Also, here's a pupper pic:

Kogeki's Anticipation absolutely triggers when he looks at Torracat, causing the Riolu to shudder.  He has a bad feeling about how this cat's aura feels...it's giving him the heebie jeebies, and he's a Ghost!  That can't be a good sign...

Ghost Maze 1, Round 1

Misdreavus vanishes into the shadows briefly, only to appear behind Torracat in an attempt to startle him.

Astonish
(5)(3)(1)(4)(6)
(6)(6) Torracat takes 2 damage 4/6 HP -1 Pain
(4)(2)(3)

"Ack!  I'm not scared of you, Ghost!  Bring it on!"

Torracat pounces on the Misdreavus in restaliation, fangs bared.

Bite 1
(6)(4)(1)(1)
(6)(1)(4) Misdreavus takes 3 damage! 2/5 HP -2 Pain

(6)(1)(2) Misdreavus Flinches!

Kogeki then tries to startle Torracat as well with another attack from behind!

Bite 1
(4)(5)(2)(3)
(6)(6) Torracat takes 2 damage! 2/6 HP -2 Pain
(6)(5)(3) Torracat Flinches 2!

Successful in causing Torracat to stumble slightly, Kogeki tries to trip the kitty cat up even further by attacking his legs faster than he can react.

Quick Attack 2
(3)(3)

However, the kitty steps just sliiiightly too far to the left, causing Kogeki's attack to miss.

Torracat Flinches 2

The kitty does not seem very pleased by the outcome of this Round.

"You little...Liepard said this was going to be easy!  I'm not going to let two stupid ghosts ruin my initiation test!  I'm taking at least one of you with me!"

(Ah, well I completely forgotten about that sheet, embarrassingly enough. Thanks for the reminder, and I'll keep it in mind!)

Though she doesn't show it (in part due to being in the process of mauling Sewaddle), Pyra was please that the Litwick followed her orders excellently despite their Skittishness. Shows that they have potential to be useful after all, and wouldn't be all that difficult to train or work with in a pinch! Witnessing the silk spinner's trapping itself in its own thread also brought upon a wicked chuckle right before she sank her teeth into it. It never fails to brighten and lightens her heart when her enemies flail and fail ever so well done, no it does not, he he he....!

Burmy's pathetic efforts to hurt her earned them a playfully sardonic grin before she torched them, and she would've added further injury to the insult had they not wisely conceded. Immediately she froze mid-step towards them, a look of minor contrition at odd with her wicked smile at their craven decisions, before she let out a *huff* a waved back with one arm for Karen and Lumia to stop as well (if they already hadn't).

"Very well, Burnt and Smoldering Burmy. We accept and take the victory you have surrendered to us. May you be well and grow from this fiery experience, yes yes."

She then promptly turned around and put the baggy Bug completely out of mind, walking over to her fellow females with a much more pleasant smile.

"Good and great job, Karen and Litwick! Keep this up, continue well executed attacks, and this insect filled maze will crackle and sizzle before our might indeed!"

Turning to face the candlestick spirit she gave them a happy and satisfied nod.

"Well done with your fiery might. Your vortex of flames and cinders was quite pretty and strong, yes, and cleverly done to prevent any possible escape from our enemy too. Looked a bit of a challenge to do, though, so you may want to improve your control over your Fire before using it often and regularly, I think I think. If you have Ember like I do then use that instead, if you can-could?"

Suddenly a thought occurred to the lil' fiendess, causing her to look curiously at the waxy spirit and its alit wick.

"Hmm.....wonder I do, about this: Would external Fire strength your Ghostly flames, embolden and fuel them even more, or would they only cause your form to melt away, like water from ice? Answer me this, if you can."

Regardless of their answer Pyra's Group will have to continue onwards, so to do so she'll have them all take the left door to the next part of the Training Maze. Let's see what awaits them along this route, shall we?

Kogeki after using his speed look at Torracat and tell him some words. "Strong is the one who even in dire situation is capable to put your emotions in check. That's a lesson I still learning."

"Misdreaveus, to end this we must attack at the same time. Prepare your Astonish. Let's see Torracat if you can handle two "stupid Ghosts" attacking you in both sides."

Kogeki kneel one leg for a second while putting a hand in the ground as support, and then the last second he increase his speed to aim a kick on Torracat face with a Quick Attack. While going right at him he tell him some other words. "My name is Kogeki. Kogeki "Anubis" Kurayami. Remember that name in the next time you face ghosts "Cat". This might teach you something about being polite."

Ghost Maze 1, Round 2

Quick Attack 1
(4)(4)(2)(3)
(3)(3)

Misdreavus doesn't take orders from Kogeki, but they were Flinching already regardless.

Misdreavus Flinches

Torracat doesn't even Flinch as he's attacked by Kogeki, angrily batting the Riolu aside with a paw.  He hisses as he pounces on Misdreavus, though he's clearly slowing down.

Bite 1
(6)(4)(2)
(6)(3)(3) Misdreavus takes 2 damage and faints.
(-)(-)(-)

He then turns his burning gaze to Kogeki as he starts spitting fire!

Ember 2
(5)
(6)(6)(2)(4)(2)(1) Kogeki takes 3 damage! 2/5 HP -2 Pain
(3)

Bite 2
6 - 2 Pain - 4 Actions = 0d6

Kogeki stumbles backwards and waves his arms wildly as he tries to keep the fire from that Ember from burning him.  Now both him and Torracat are panting heavily, quickly becoming tired after this brief but exhausting battle.

"Not...bad....dog...you're good...but I'm better...and you're not going to stop me from getting into Team Superior..."

Mechanical Note: Consider Headbutt still learnt even if Kee used Snarl due to the conditional orders, mostly since I wanted this move anyway and already added it to my charasheet. In-chara he'll display the move and become aware of the level-up on the next given opportunity!~

Kee stretches oneself luxuriously and yawns a toothy yawn now that Combee has been defeated and Mantyke is out of the way, being rather content with how this friendly sparring went. While Dax is still talking about the Oran Berry and the Apple in the room the furry crittercoon has already jumped at them and presses the Oran Berry against one of Klink's gears while holding the Apple close to himself with the other clawed paw. "Here ya go, keep a hold of this Berry, will ya? I don't wanna see ya 'specially loosing your conscience in a dire s'tuation since ya're new in our rank. K? K, thanks!~" **wide smile as he packs away the Apple into his own bag" "I'll take that one 'f I may.... *mumbling* I don't eat that much b't I... kinda d'test the feelin' of bein' hungry an' out of food, ya see...." He shakes himself.

Onwards through the right door then, following Dax with eager anticipitation!
