Marcus is sitting at an otherwise empty table in Café Connection, pondering something while he looks at a piece of parchment he's laid out.  When he sees all the members of Team OS approaching, he rolls up the parchment and puts it in the bag he has slung over his shoulder.  He seems to be happy to see everyone, too.



"Ah, there you are!  Wasn't expecting to see everyone so soon!  Thought you might have a few more preparations to make before we head out.  Oh, your accessory?"

Kee's query about the accessory seems to put Marcus in an even better mood.



"Yup, it's done!  And I think it's some of my finer work, too!  Weaving the fire element aligned fur into the string of the necklace seems to have definitely had a positive impact on the final result, and the quality of that crystal was top notch!  It's probably going to be a long time before I get to work with materials like that again!  Here you go!"

Marcus pulls a necklace out of his bag and hands it to Kee, the red crystal shining brightly on the interwoven strands of red and white.



"I did a few tests with it once I finished, and using the Boldore crystal as a catalyst definitely had a strong effect on the item.  If you're wearing the necklace while the sun is high in the sky, it should have a much stronger effect.  It heats up a lot when you use it like that, but the fur seems to dampen the effect significantly, so it should be safe to wear.  Most of the time.  If it's really sunny, it starts to overcharge the crystal somewhat, and that had some...interesting consequences.  Oh, and items like this always need a good name, and my initial idea for it was something along the lines of 'Solar Battery', since it stores solar energy that you can use to strengthen your moves later.  What do you think?  Good name for it?"

Accessory Crafted: Solar Battery (you can change the name if you like, though)
Effect: The solar energy stored in the crystal naturally strengthens damaging moves, granting the wearer +1 Clash.  In addition, while battling in an outdoor area where the sun is visible with Clear weather during the day, the wearer also gets +1 Special.  During Sunny weather (regardless of the source), the user gets +2 Special, but takes 1 damage at the end of each Round.  Must be worn in an Accessory slot.

(GM's note: gonna rule that increases and decreases to the Special stat don't affect how many targets you're able to hit with spread moves.  This accessory thus won't help you there, but it also means that someone decreasing your Special won't hurt you either.)

Kogeki whistle by the piece of craft Marcus make." Incredible. I must admit, you already said you were a good craftsmith, but damn. What you made is a literally piece of art."

"I...couldn't find a Skarmory feather yet. *Sigh* It is more difficult than I imagined."

"Can you wait just a minute while I deposit some of my money? Just to be careful."

Kogeki deposit all his money in his account in the group account. He will do his part in help in the group money.

R$ 1.630 in total Kogeki will deposit Dragonstrike.

After that he joined the others in this meeting with Marcus in the caffe.

"Thank you for the gesture, Kee, but I've already had breakfast.  Wanted to make sure that I'm ready for the adventure ahead.  It never hurts to be too prepared, after all, even if I do have some apples handy just in case.  If you guys have any preparations to make before we go, I definitely recommend doing so before we head out.  The Secret Quarry can be particularly difficult to navigate if you underprepare for it.  Definitely bring some healing items if you have room for them.  Sandstorms won't bother me much, but they'll definitely be annoying for you guys if you get caught in one."

Kee can absolutely get something involving Persim berries in the recipe for 50 Poké.  Gothorita recommends a berry skewer today, in her usual monotone, unenthusiastic style.  "It's been dry lately, and the various juices of the berries have a pleasant mixture of moisturizing flavors.  *sigh*, I really don't like alliteration...well, at least it looks like we'll get some rain for once fairly soon.  Been awhile since the last time a rain cloud passed overhead."

As for Kogeki's comments on being unable to get a Skarmory feather, Marcus offers some words of encouragement.

"Ah, chin up, Kogeki.  That's a pretty rare material to find, honestly.  Most Skarmory tend to live in rather secluded areas, so it's not surprising you haven't found one of their feathers yet.  I don't necessarily have to use one of those to make a sharp object, though.  If you can find something similar, I could try working with that instead."

"Anyways, just let me know when you're all ready to set out for the Secret Quarry.  I'll wait here until then."

The Kecleon brothers seem to be very eager to show off what he has today.  "We managed to get our hands on some rare items yesterday!  Our stock for these is incredibly limited, so make sure to purchase them before they disappear!"

I have one thing to note while everyone is running their morning errands: Karen hears that voice again when everyone passes through the main plaza.  And this time, Daxter hears it too!

Hey, over here!  Can you hear me?  Over here, by Hawlucha's stand!

Karen blinks in surprise when she hears it.  "...okay, I'm not the only one who heard that this time, right?  Did anyone else hear that?"

Daxter looks around in confusion before he jerks his head towards Karen. "Hey, love. You hear that? Let's check it out."

Daxter then proceeds to walk over there, making sure to be as discrete as possible.

Pyra doesn't have anything to add to the Solar Battery reveal, other than cooing over how awesome it was. If that was came of master class Crafting Skill, then she'd DEFINATELY needed to learn up on the practice herself so that she can start making useful stuff for her friends!

As for Karen and Dax hearing the voice, Pyra smile dims a tad as she swivels her head, trying and failing to do pick it up herself.

"....Hmm, no, nay, I did not. Whatever you hear, whispered on the winds, it escapes my comprehension, yes."

When the aquatic salamander makes to go investigate the noise the she-demon politely stops him by gently gripping him on the shoulder as he'd turned to leave.

"Shouldn't be distracted and waylayed by voices unknown, Webby Dax, no. Be it possibly a trap, a lure into danger, peril, or situations you-we are unprepared for. That, and also too, we have a Favor and Job from Marcus to do. Getting distracted, wasting time looking here and there for uncertainties, is not wisest idea to do, for it would keep him waiting and us from aiding him unnecessarily. As I said to Karen a day before if this 'voice' wants our attention, our audience, then it should seek us out and confront us in person, instead of its current furtive beckoning's."

She has good points, you know, but that hasn't stopped anyone from doing what they want regardless.

Daxter looks around in confusion before he jerks his head towards Karen. "Hey, love. You hear that? Let's check it out."

Daxter then proceeds to walk over there, making sure to be as discrete as possible.

"Yeah, let's go.  I have a...strange feeling about that voice.  I think it's worth checking out."

Karen and Daxter make their way over to Hawlucha's Slam School, where the bird himself is still rummaging around in his things, trying to find something while muttering to himself.

"No, not that...not here either...*sigh*...where is it?  Why can't I find it?  Could it have been...?  No, it probably wasn't that small fire type...he was in front of my stall the entire time...but that's also when it disappeared...hmmmm...it has to be here somewhere..."

Daxter and Karen try to sneak their way past without attracting Hawlucha's attention.

"Oh, it's you.  No, it's not.  Still can't find that blasted item I need to run my shop...hey, maybe you can help."

"Um...okay?  What do you need help with?"

While Hawlucha is talking to Karen, Daxter slips behind the stall and out of sight, where he finds something very, very strange.

Oh man, finally!  I didn't think anyone was going to be able to find me!  Hey, what's your name?  You must be something special if you can hear me!

Now Dax is confused. A bottle? Was someone stuck inside? Or was the bottle itself a Pokemon? If there was a teacup Pokemon, why not a bottle? He lifts the bottle up and shakes it slightly. "Uhhhh... I'm Daxter. I'm sorry, but are you a Bottle Pokemon, or are you just stuck inside it? It's kinda strange, in all honesty."

Sounds 'nderstandable since we're in a desert an' stuff. It brings an' nourishes life... Or does it 'ave a different meanin' for ya people in town?"

Oh my poor dear 'dventurer's heart, it's skippin' a beat just outta tha sheer joooy of lookin' at 'em...~~" If Kee may, he also tries on these X-Ray Specs just because.

"Ya got some fair prices for that fine loot... Bit of a shame I'll be only takin' the two Oran Berries t'day please, isn't it?~" He shrugs in a non-chalant way. "But that's a wiser choice in mah books, headin' 'nto Secret Quarry t'day. Ugh, the sole thooought of bein' caught in a nasty sandstorm makes me feel all itchy..." (-100$P for Kee)

Huffing and puffing and in his best zigzag-manner, the furry crittercoon eventually runs back to Cafe Connection. Before he takes eat at Marcus' table however, he stops by at Kanga herself to ask her in his sweeeeetest and most sugary manner whether she can take care of some of his beloved and cherished Items.

Items that Kee keeps in his bag to carry into Secret Quarry

- 2 Tiny Reviver Seeds
- 1 Apple
- 1 Branch of a tree

This means his Standard Satchel from the Guild is full, while his Guitar Bag only holds the tree branch.

The Kecleon have a little more to say when Kee brings up the Secret Quarry and Sandstorms.

"Ooh, the Secret Quarry.  Quite a dangerous place, right, brother?"

"Indeed, brother.  Was a secret for so long, many powerful wild pokemon started living there.  There are Hippowdon there, yes?"

"I do believe so, brother!  And if you're worried about Sandstorms caused by Hippowdon, these X-Ray Specs would be perfect for sniffing them out and prevent those Sandstorms from being anything more than a nuisance!"

"And they definitely have a unique style to them, too!"

"Fortune favors the thrifty!"
