[Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows

"....*Shakes head slowly* No, but....yes. Unworried and without care about stealing I am mostly, indeed, it is not something that interests me greatly. Certainly not if thievery and looting befalls others I care not for, and most definitely not for wild enemies and adversaries I ardently abhor.  Yet....."

Pyra glances over to her friends, her gaze resting on Dax and Karen a little longer than most, before looking back to Marcus.

".....Have no desire to bring trouble to my beloved friend, want no chance to cause them grief I can prevent, should I know and learn better not to cause, yes. Not past, not future, and not now very much, after they and you fail to....."

She trails off, her smile twitching in discomfort and unease, before deciding to skip past that near damning remark with a half shrug.

".....Anyway and besides, becoming more wise and well taught in the 'laws' and rules of 'civilization' and the 'civilized' is always a good thing, I believe-think. Prevent us from causing-creating bad mischief and nefarious problems unintentional, yes, or work past and around them-they-that, if our needs and wants need be and not allowed nicely by 'civilization' . "

The brimstone imp could only let out a soft *sigh* at the glimmering telepath's (to her) grossly misplaced concern for the Conk Squad, but chooses not to say anything about it. No need to sow further despair and disarray between the two of them by openly disagreeing with her again on this particular subject. Or worse, potentially get her other friends all wound up and bad spirited if they would take offense to her opinions.

Pyra didn't have anything to say until Marcus pointed out the Trap that guarded the Items, where upon she backed him up with a firm nod and crossed arms.

"Agree with Craftsmon Marcus, should leave these Items be and not get pounded or buried by the Rock Slide Traps, and continue find our way to the Secret Mine. Hm....[/b]unless someone can trigger and start-stop the Traps from afar, or have crafty-clever way of getting past them unharmed[/b]?"

Orders: My vote is currently to leave the Trapped Items alone for safety's sake, as I'm not sure they're worth the Damage or Revivers they'd take to get if we end up getting pelted by some Rock Slides (or potentially getting crushed underneath them and the time it'd take to get out). If somehow has a good enough idea to bypass them, though, I'd be all aboard the attempt!

"Kee, wait!  Don't get any closer!  There's rocks perched above us, on the edge of the ravine!"
And when everyone looks up, there is indeed lots of rocks that look like they're about to fall on some unlucky pokemon's head.
"...yup, I'd vote that we don't mess with this if I can have a say.  I'd probably be fine if I got hit by a Rock Slide, but I'm not sure the rest of you would be.  Real clever, that Conkeldurr.  Burying potential thieves with stone would be a good way to deter any old pokemon from taking his supplies."

Ziggy Kee immediately stops the very moment Macus calls out for him, then looks up, then hisses and growls at these rocks ready to fall onto their all's head. Not that the rocks care in any way... But Kee still wants to express his displeasure in a way a Galarian Ziggy would do.

He takes a leap backwards and turns towards the craftsman of a Cubone. "Thanks for tha warning an' info. That, ehehe, could 'ave gone BAAAADLY 'f it weren't for yar sharp instinct... (^v^; ) Really, thank ya." *humming and pondering* "Clever 'ndeed, yeah. I'd rather let that loot be loot an' leave it as it is, ev'n if I'd really enjoy takin it 'long, but tha risk of these ROCKS 'bove crashin' down on us..." Kee shakes his head with emphasis, "Nope, no thankies. Plus, Conkedurr an' Co. or those that Machamp 'mprison'd at that Mine need healin' s'pplies more than we do."

He turns towatds the others and away from the pile of items. "C'mon, people... Got some Hidden Mine to find an' some fellow 'Mon to free from bein' 'eld captive!~ ( ÒωÓ)و☆"

Left from our chara's perspective I guess? In that case:

EDIT: We COULD try to trigger these rocks to fall down with a well place throw of a Gravelerrock or a ranged attack from us, but the risk to 1. accidently destroy the Items and 2. us taking damage by that attempt (both by unlucky rolls) feels not that worth it. So, I'd too rather leave these Items alone and progress onwards - Unless anyone of you is adamant on try to make these Items ours?

Daxter looks at the items with mild interest. He definitely wouldn't mind getting his hands on some of them. Marcus's warnings about the rocks do stop him in his tracks though. He frowns in thought. "Wait. Before we go, let's try to trigger the trap, at the very least. If we get a little further away, and throw a stone or something at it, maybe we can drop the rocks and we can grab some of the supplies. I've got no issues with taking some of his stuff. He did just assault us for no real reason, after all. Let's just... You know. Not take too much. Just what we need. Some of those seeds, maybe. I remember that the one could wake you up if you fainted. Kee's used it, hasn't he? They could give us a bit of an edge against whatever the fuck Machamp is doing. And before you lot say something about the risks, lemme try and point something out. I doubt Conkeldurr would set the traps in a way to crush his supplies. Intruders and whatnot, for sure. Absolutely. But if he sets the traps to crush the supplies too, all he's left with is a couple of unconscious bodies and stained fruit juice all over the floor. And here's another thing: What's the point of setting a trap for thieves if you get screwed by it too? I think Conkeldurr must have set up a way to disable the trap. Let's try to find it, and if that doesn't work, we can try and activate the trap to get rid of the rocks. I'm pretty sure that the rocks won't ruin the supplies. He's thickheaded and stubborn for sure, but I don't think he's a thundering dumbass."

Action: Try to find a way to disable the traps without hurting anyone. If that works, then look for any Revival Seeds. If it doesn't, ask if anyone's got a good throwing arm (or mouth or tail in Kee's case).

*rolls*

When Daxter takes another look at the rocks, he's reasonably certain that his assumption is correct.  None of the rocks appear to be perched above the item stash itself, only the path leading to it, so the rocks falling would be unlikely to destroy any of the items.

However, the Charmander doesn't seem to see anything that might trigger or disable the trap either.  There has to be something that sets the trap off, but he's not quite sure what it is.

So that leaves asking about who's got a good throwing appendage.

"I agree that if we could reach those items, some extra supplies would be useful to have.  Anyone have a throwable item on them and want to volunteer to try throwing it at the trap to see if we can trigger the trap from a distance?  I don't happen to have any on me, unfortunately.  I don't usually carry them around, to be honest.  Rely more on my bone club and the trusty ol' Marowlens."

"I don't.  I don't think I'd be very good at throwing them anyways...ahahaha..."

Kogeki approach with his pebble on hands. "Let me try. I have some skills in throwing things. It will be a little more safe if we are on a good distance. If anyone have a rock too in case throwing my pebble failed its better have something else to try."

Kogeki signals to everyone else to step back, brings his arm backwards to wind up a throw...

Kogeki's Throw
2 Dex + 2 Fight + 1 Throw
(6)(6)(1)(1)(4) 2 successes

...then tosses the small rock at one of the larger rocks perched precariously on the cliff above!

The sound of stone hitting stone echoes for a moment, followed by the smaller rock hitting the ground...

...

...

...and for a brief moment, it seems like nothing happens.  Kogeki turns to ask if anyone else has another rock to toss...

...only for the rock the struck with the gravelerock to suddenly fall with very little warning, striking a circular section of the ground that was loosely outlined with several smaller rocks!  And as soon as it hits the ground, that part of the pathway collapses, causing a small tremor that shakes even more rocks loose!  Kogeki finds that he was just a tad too close to the trap when it was set off, and is grazed by a few of the rocks as they fall into the hole (and also burying the Gravelerock that Kogeki threw)!

Rock Slide Trap Damage
3 Str + 3 Pow - 1 = 2
(6)(4) Kogeki takes 2 damage

Karen runs over to Kogeki immediately.  "Kogeki!  Are you okay?!"

The Riolu gets up and dusts himself off once the rocks have stopped falling, bruised, but thankfully not fainted.  There's now a large, circular hole in the path that's filled with rocks, looking very similar to the previous collapsed pathway.  This one is a bit smaller scale, though, and can be walked around.  And with the trap disarmed and the path cleared, it's now possible to examine the pile of items that had been stashed here.

In total, there are:
- 4 Oran Berries
- 2 Tiny Reviver Seeds
- 5 Apples
- 500 Poké
- A green seed with two white stripes which Marcus identifies as a Heal Seed (cures a variety of status effects, similar to a Full Heal).

Marcus whistles as he examines the pile of items.

"That's quite a stash Conkeldurr's built up!  Don't usually see wild pokemon holding on to this many items.  Probably took awhile to gather this much.  Well, what do you guys think we might need?  I think Daxter's right that Conkeldurr would appreciate it if we didn't take all of his stuff."

Kogeki barely had time to avoid the falling stones. He was bury with some rocks. But thankfully, the damage was not that big.

He punch some rocks and finally stand up. He returns to his friend while he is a little bruised. "Urgh. Just a few scratches, but alive somehow."

Kogeki raise a eyebrow towards Marcus question. "What we should take? Everything if possible. I don't give a damn about what Conkeldurr like or not. It is the least those guys owe us for attacking us."

Daxter frowns. What the heck was with Kogeki and Pyra? "Uh, mate. I'm not robbing someone blind because he was trying to defend his home. That's just in bad taste. I'd say we should grab the seeds, two apples and two berries. Leave everything else. I only suggested taking some of the supplies just in case we needed them against Machamp. We don't need any of Conkeldurr's money to fight Machamp. Unless you think you can somehow feed the Poke too him, that is. If you're gonna behave like this every time, maybe I just won't bring up any ideas from now on. Honestly, you're no better than Team Artificers sometimes."

"Well, I was not the one who attack a group of Pokemon minding they're business right? Besides, we were leaving and those guys attack us in the spot. They attack us."

"If you think you I no better than Team Artificer because I felt zero sympathy towards Condelkur and only care about us instead of some unworthy Pokemon like them, than so be it. They should be thankful we are even thinking in helping them with Machamp problem."

"Or even better: They should be grateful that they do not become the next targets of my Aura Draining meal."

"Ungrateful Pokemon like them is just that to me: Auras to be drained. At least they would be useful for something for a change."

"Sorry, but I do not easily forgive those who do transgressions to me, or those important to me. This is the way I am. You may be my friend Daxter, but I will not change my ways or how I view them. Not even for you, Karen or Kee. Those Pokemon need to earn my respect. And yes, I stand adamant in the decision of taking everything because they own us, no matter the reason they had. We stand right."

Marcus bonks both Daxter and Kogeki on the head with his bone club, seemingly upset with comments that both of them made.

"Hey, cut it out, you two!  This is not a good time to be fighting among ourselves.  Kogeki, I'm pretty sure Conkedlurr had good reason to mistrust outsiders after being betrayed by one.  Daxter, comparing Kogeki to Team Artificers is low when you don't even have firsthand experience with seeing what they're really like.  Both of you could do with having a little more respect for each other, so quit it.  Are you on the same team or not?"

"Pyra, Kee, what do you think? Do we take all the items or not?"
