(11-15-2021, 05:42 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: (Wow, that Roll sucked, but at least Chimical's sucked even harder! That, and now know that Beauty Rolls don't really work on Genderless Pokemon! I am curious to know if putting a Will Point would significantly change this scene, though, if it's not too late to apply them.)
Being a bird that was composed of some sort of metal, being circled by what felt like a Fiery feline did make Platina quite uncomfortable, but his timely intercession and open admiration of their Beauty does mollify those feelings somewhat. They've put up with worse sorts of scrutiny before, so they'll not let this cat be the one to make them loose nerve.
".....I suppose I can forgive them, in that case. Bluntness and efficiency over personality is......displeasing to be subjected to, but I know such has its purposes at times. Thank you for the apologies and explanation, sir."
Porygon 2 ('What a strange name for a Pokemon....') continued 'directness' doesn't bother the Shiny Bird this time, as Chimical's explanation rationalized such behavior and made it 'acceptable' in their eyes, but they do appreciate him rephrasing the inquiry into a much more polite request. However, they seemed.....reluctant and hesitant to answer at first, before they shook their head with a small *sigh* and looked at the chimera kitten.
".....I suspect these storms are caused by a group of Pokemon. I do not have much to offer about them, but I can say that I know some of them are capable of generating and controlling fierce Thunderstorms if provoked, and have a mastery over flight as well. I am not completely certain if they're causing all of these storms, however, or if they have done so in the recent past and up until now. This is the first I've heard of such a problem, after all, and I only have my own limited experiences to draw upon. Does that answer the question to your satisfaction, Chimical sir?"
-------------------------------
Before Chimical and the rest of Team Artificers could leave after she answered their question, Platina let out a polite *cough* to draw the chimera cat's attention, tilting their head at them politely yet inquisitively.
"Ah, before you go, may you answer a questions of mine? Only fair I get the same courtesy I showed you, I believe. *Beat* What is your opinion of this 'Adventurer's Guild' , Chimical sir? Floette here has already told me a little about it....."
*Sideways glance at the Pokemon in question, before letting out a small sigh*
"Yet I feel the information they shared about it may be too.....idealistic for me to fully form an opinion on it. If I'm not incorrect, though, you are a member of this Guild? If so, you must have a more grounded views on it based on your own experiences as both an 'Adventurer' and as a follower of your Guild's Leader Delphox, yes? So please, if you could, can you briefly share your thoughts on it?"
There was a pause on their part, as if they were thinking about to ask something else, before they shook their head to themselves and kept anymore questions to themselves.
"A group of pokemon, you sssssssay? Interessssssting...Ssssssolosssssisssss, do we know of any pokemon ssssspecccciessss capable of such featsssss?"
"Hmmmm...none immediately come to mind, Chimical. Any pokemon capable of creating a storm the size of the ones we've been seeing recently must be considerably powerful."
"Well, it'ssssss a placccce to ssssstart. That will do. Your cooperation issssss much apprecccciated. Now then, where will we ssssstart looking...? If only we could find a pokemon capable of making a ssssstorm..."
"I know of one." A chilling voice comes from behind Team Artificers, causing Chimical and Solosis to jump, startled by the sudden intrusion.
"Who are you? I don't recall asssssking you if you knew anything."
An Absol steps through the doors, followed by a Magneton. The large, white feline's red eyes are piercing, his words blunt and to the point. His very presence causes the very air to tense up, though Team Artificer's hardly seems to be fazed by the disaster pokemon.
"ABSOL, ARE YOU SURE IT IS WISE TO APPROACH THEM FIRST?"
"The other teams all have their pairings already. We get this lot. And lucky for them, I have a good starting point for our search of the Air Continent. Though they could stand to be a bit less rude."
Chimical gets a bit uppity at that remark. "Hmph. You're the one who butt in on our conversssssation. If you know sssssomething, though, ssssspill the detailssssss. It'sssss cruccccial to the misssssion."
"I am aware. We travel to Mt. Thunder once we have what we need. There will be a pokemon there that will know more about creating storms of this nature, and what might be capable of similar feats."
"Mt. Thunder? How apt. This should be a rather enlightening excursion with a name like that."
"Yes, quite."
Absol doesn't seem to be particularly amused by having to deal with Team Artificers, and the sudden awkward pause in the conversation gives Platina a chance to ask her question.
Platina's question to Chimical draws the red feline's attention away from Absol. And as much attention as Platina is drawing to herself from Chimical, he very easily notices that she might have had more to ask than just that one question. "Oh, you want to know what it'sssss like to work for the Guild? Well, that'sssss rather sssssimple. Thisssss issss the kind of environment where thosssssse who get thingsssss done go far. And Team Artificccccersssss getssssss thingsssss done. You wouldn't happen to be thinking about joining, would you?"
It's at this point that Daxter, Ampharos, and Mawile arrive. Chimical tauntingly hisses at the trio.
"Well, well, well, if it isssssn't the traitor to Team Omega Sssssseekersssss. Come to sssssspy on our activity?"
"Traitor? What on earth do you mean by that?"
"Oh, didn't you noticccccce how tenssssse they were while in the sssssame room together? Ah, no matter, I ssssssuppossssse. It'ssss not really any of your busssssinesss anywayssss. Enjoy your quessssstioning of the bird. And do try to be polite now."
Mawile rolls her eyes and walks over. "Uh huh. As polite as you're being right now, I take it?" She all but thrusts a Connection Orb into Chimical's paws, staring daggers at him. "Make sure that you update that with everything you find out that relates to the mission we've all been assigned. And I do mean everything."
Chimical grins mischievously. "Of coursssssse. Wouldn't want to disssspleasssssse the Guildmasssssster, after all. Come, Sssssolossssisss, we have work to do."
Team Artificers wanders off with Absol and Magenton (who haven't said a word during that whole exchange) to prepare for their journey, and Ampharos frowns. "Well, they're quite the characters."
"Says the Ampharos with no sense of direction whatsoever."
Ampharos laughs. "Ahahaha! Quite so, quite so!"
Daxter lets out a breath, trying to relax. He'd been gritting his teeth that whole conversation, trying to avoid escalating the situation while in the guild proper. He looks to the small metal bird that Team Artificers had just been talking to. "Hey. Those guys didn't try anything funny, did they? They're absolute snakes. Wouldn't trust them any more than a normal looking patch of sand around here, honestly."
After Platina responds to Daxter's question, that's when Team Omega Seekers and Team Stripes arrive on the scene as well. Arcanine, Lurantis, and Barbaracle hang back at their leader's suggestion, but they're clearly listening very carefully to anything that might be said by the younger group of pokemon.

Both the newest Teams Arrival get nary a look as the glimmering birdy continued to stare at Dax, looking very expectant for what they had to say for themselves and how.
"Very well. I am please to have helped you, sir Chimical, and I thank you for your politeness."
If nothing else, the fiery feline was making a solid impression on Platina, despite his somewhat snakish demeanor and the company he kept. Absol's abrupt intrusion also caused the metallic avian to startle, briefly flapping their wings and scattering more of their SHINY sparkles around before they got themselves under control. The Doom prophet's species was one they immediately recognized, but the glittering fowl actually gave him a smile and bowed their head to them in respect, ignoring or not noticing the tension they created. Unlike most, she knew that his species weren't really all that bad from what their parents taught them, and several times their warnings and prophecies have been a boon for their people, so all things told they felt rather happy and safe one was around so informally. After all, if their was truly bad trouble abound nearby, they'd have Alerted everyone to it by now!
(...)
They remained silent as Absol and Team Artificer began to snip at each other, observing things with a careful, thought eye. Hm, it seemed like her first impressions were a little off about the chimera kitten, since they seemed to be more impoliyr and immature or fragile of ego than they first presented himself to her as. Easily baited into acting out too, or so it appeared to be. Were they two-faced in nature, perhaps? Fitting, for a cat and snake hybrid with two heads.
It was at this point they decided to raise their question to Chimical, in an attempt not only to have it answered, but also to break things up and get more Insight into their and Team Artificers' mindset. They weren't lying when they were curious to know more about the Guild - they just didn't specify that was all they looking for in their statement, exactly.
And oh my, did they have a loaded one to give! 'Who gets things done go far' and Artifcer's own dedication towards that ideal? That spoke of one of two things: hard working and pure pragmatism. Those not afraid to put in the effort to get the result they wanted, and those unequally uncowed doing whatever it took to accomplish their goals. Separate, those qualities were already strong indicators a Pokemon was a driven individual, but together, combined with the troublesome attitudes and feel they were getting from Chimical and their group? Unless you were on their side or in their good graces, the team was not ones to be trifled with or so easily trusted. And if even part of the Guild slightly mirrored their way? Well, it would explain the Leader's earlier behavior at least.
One thing was for certain: they would have to be careful around Chimical and those of Team Artificers, least they get ensnared by their disarming ways or be unprepared to deal with their spite. For now they've been somewhat behaved and (in the case of Chimical) well mannered towards themselves (Platina), but who knows if that would last, much less that level of niceties being the norm rather than the exception.
"......I see. Thank you for your answer, and no, I haven't. I'll be putting some thought into the prospect now that you mentioned it, though. I have my own goals I wish to see accomplished, and having an organization like the Guild supporting me in my endeavors is an appealing idea. Whether they can do so satisfactorily enough or if they are a good fit for myself for me to extend a request for membership remains to be seen."
(...)
A second group's arrival forestalls anymore questions from the metallic avian, and this one had yet another individual that stood out to them: a blue, amphibious-like Dragon looking Pokemon. How fascinating. Less interesting was the Mawhile and Ampharos, though they did at least get a perfunctory nod before the Shiny Bird went back to scrutinizing Dax. The subsequent show Chimical put on was also equally interesting. Traitor? Very bold word to accuse someone of. What was the story behind that? Being referred to as a mere 'bird' again earned the noxious critter a pointed glare and no small amount of ire. Yeap, they were indeed a bratty two-faced, and short of memory to boot, since they just mentioned their preferred being called by their name to Porygon-2.
Once Team Artificers left with Absol and the Magneton (the Absol get a bow of farewell), Platina let out a moderate *Sigh* in relief, ruffling their feathers and shaking their head to themselves. Good heavens, that bunch was a chore to experience, aside from whatever politeness (real or faked) from Chimical! They hope that most of the rest of this Guild's followers weren't that troublesome or complicated, or they would seriously begin to doubt if they'd be able to help rescue their friend without ransoming them first!
The Dragon-kin's concerns brought them out of their revere, gracing them with a intense stare for several seconds before nodding slightly.
"Yes, quite. That lot can be professional, but only if it suits their fancy, I feel. Not ones to be trifled or bothered with either, unless you can play their games better than they can. *Shakes head* In any case, I'm fine. They treated me well, though how much of that was sincere or mere flattery remains to be seen."
Before the strange drake could respond, Platina launched into a question of their own, this one both curious and pointed.
"They did call you a traitor, though. Not something to said about anyone lightly, no matter if it were said in rudeness of being demeaning. Sounds like their is a rather....interesting story behind it all, hm?"
Both the newest Teams arrival get nary a look as the glimmering birdy continued to stare at Dax, looking very expectant for what they had to say for themselves and how.

Dax grits his teeth again in an attempt to keep his cool, not really wishing to elaborate, especially since the team he 'betrayed' is right there. "They're probably just trying to rile me up on purpose."
Ampharos interjects. "Well, I can certainly tell they were exaggerating. Managing to sit at the same table and hold a brief conversation is hardly something I'd expect of groups with a history of betrayal."
Dax nods. "Yeah. Not like I can't be polite and civil. Speaking of which, name's Daxter. Leader of Team Night Wardens. And you are?"

The Shiny Bird gives the aquatic Dragon a skeptical look, not fully convinced about his remark or Ampharos' rejoinder. ".....Betrayal comes in many forms, many degrees, and the outcome of which can be expressed in equally many ways. Civility and being affable in spite of such past disputes is one such possibility, rare as it is, regrettably. Exaggeration or self-serving slander, their is something to their accusation. Otherwise they wouldn't bother making it and it wouldn't affect you so vividly, really."
Several second past as the somewhat mysterious Pokemon slowly looked back and forth between Dax and at what she gathered were his former comrades ('What strange bunch of Pokemon.....') , before letting out a slightly dramatic * sigh* and shrugged, trying to look more nonchalant than disappointed.
"If you don't wish to share, that is fine. We're all entitled to our secrets. Maybe later we can talk about it, if the opportunity arises and you feel more comfortable doing so."
With a flutter of their wings the metallic avian struck a Beautiful yet dignified pose, Shiny sparks surrounding them as they tilted head upward, closed their eyes, and beamed with a great sense of self-confidence and self-satisfaction.
" My name is Platina. A...... Rookidee on a quest to explore the world, to see all its wonders, to enjoy all its splendors, and find out what is all means. Life can be so grand, and I want to experience all of it for myself!"
They held that august pose for several second, before they remembered something that caused them to deflate, with them looking to the ground in dismay and quiet anxiousness.
".....Unfortunately, my plans have hit quite the snag. You see, I was not alone in my quest. I had a....companion named Ray, who was the one that inspired me to undertake it in the first place. Quite recently, in fact.....which is part of the problem. These.....Thunderstorms, of late......they hit us at sea on our raft after we sailed off, destroying it and......separating us in the process. "....Though the Guildmaster seems to be taking advantage of that fact too much for my tastes. *Shakes head and muttering* Is it so much to ask instead demand, or not leading me on like I'm some sort of peon of theirs? Honestly....."
For the moment, they seemed lost in thought, continuing to mutter in discontent to themselves too quietly to be clearly heard.

In light of that last comment, I think it's about time for a more detailed physical description of Platina (because OOC, she absolutely is not a rookidee, but both rookidee and Platina's actual species are rare enough in the context of this game that almost nobody would know the difference IC without encountering another member of either evolution line).
She very clearly has a large, metallic colored, somewhat triangular head atop her smaller torso. Her large, red eyes indicate she's likely a young pokemon, though they're perhaps a bit narrower than one might have initially expected for a pokemon her age and size. The back of her head curves upwards in the shape of a scythe. The front of her charcoal colored torso appears to have what looks vaguely like a platinum colored bird's footprint on it. The feathers that cover her have a slightly metallic sheen to them, are the same color as her head, and they also look rather pointy (especially the ones on her wings). Her feet are also clawed and sharp, almost like a raptor's. There's a ruff of gray colored, equally pointy feathers around her neck, and her long tail is the same shade. The bird stands at just under 2 feet tall, and it looks like she could leave an opponent with some rather nasty looking scratches if anyone made her angry.

Kee appreciates the fresh air upon stepping outside of Delphox's Adventurers Guild, and starts to look around the near surroundings for that 'mysterious Pokemon caught in the storm' the Guildmaster mentioned - thankfully he does not have to search far, as his gaze is CAPTURED by that.......He's not even sure how to describe it, but 'sparkling and shining bird of extravagant appearance (in the good way)' does somewhat nail it. He has an incredibly hard to to unglue his curious friendly staaaaare from them!~
Floette as well as Audino (if they're still there, which I guess they are?) receive a gentle nod and 'Good mornin' there, dear Floette an' kind Audino! Hehe, isn't that a mornin' full of exciting news?~', while the sparkling shiny bird gets a very VERY interested glance, yet it has the completely opposite vibes of the stare Chimical gave them earlier: Friendly, positive, enthusiastic ones in particular, with a mild undertone of worry and playfulness. If their feathers wouldn't have that metallic sheen, Kee'd absolutely give them a gentle nudge with his nose as a greeting. "Hello an' good morning t'ya as well there! You must be that 'Pokemon that was caught in a storm an' found unconscious at tha beach' 'round here according to what I've been told, aren't ya?~~" ....Well, fuck that metallic sheen, Kee NEVERTHELESS gives them a playful, mildly flirty, and very very gentle nudge with his nose just because. " We've been asked t'inquire 'bout you as part of our mission assigned, but it's HARD, near-impossible t'ignore a Pokemon of YOUR beauty and shinyness on this morning~☆ *cough* Kee's mah name, proud an' new adventurer of this Guild, forming Team Omega Seekers with my fellow members. And to what name do you r'pond to, does it have a ring JUST AS PRECIOUS as your appearance? Are ya okay by now, how are ya doing after that truely 'ventful mornin' of yars?"
(@ Spiritmon, it's time to meet Windos' new character!~ I'll let Kogeki speak for himself naturally)

Audino simply shrugs. "The guildmaster is a busy pokemon. If she said she wanted to see you, though, then she meant it. Give her a minute, and I'm sure she'll hear you out very soon."

Kogeki still not in his best mood, but decided to keep his emotions aside and try to act more "bussiness'' style. He doesnt need to scare the mysterious Pokemon with his foul aura.
And...well, Kogeki to say the least, he was impressed in see the appearance of such metallic bird, but it was more contained than his commarade Kee. He only exchange a cold pair of eyes to Audino and Floette. "Morning Floette and Audino." Said Kogeki with a less than enthusiastic tone of voice. Not annoyed since he need to be more professional, but more like robotic. Not for the sake of be friendly but more like he was supose to say only for the sake of said it.
Kogeki also look at the bird Pokemon, someway to analyze him with cold blue gelid eyes. Kogeki eyes was without some light (not lifeless) and also looking someway tired, almost looking like he was not sleeping well. "Hmpft. I suppose you are indeed the mysterious Pokemon the Guildmaster was talking about. No wonder everyone was talking so much about you."
Koogeki make some apresentations. "The name Kogeki. Kogeki "Anubis" Kurayami. Ninja of the sand and sea. And one the few remained members of Team Omega Seekers." Kogeki said those words with a bit of annoyance, but also...irritation. But he try to return to control his emotions a bit and focus to stay polite. "But you can call me Kogeki. And you are?"
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

The……odd racoon dog’s frenetic approach almost unnerved Platina, as too was his(?) gaze full of barely restrained enthusiasm. Oh dear, this Pokemon was a energetic type, was he not? She always had trouble dealing with their….., well, energy, without getting swept up in their air trail, ironically enough. Still, she wouldn’t let that stop her from returning their niceties in turn, as was right and proper.
“A fine morning to you too, sir. Yes, I – “
It was at this point that the wild creature just……casually intruded into her personal space and…..softly touched them? What? Just…… what? What was….the purpose behind that gesture? She was no stranger to being crowded by admirers, sycophants, or curious/awed guests, but this? What in the world was that gesture supposed to mean?? The closest she could figure was…..huh. No, it couldn’t be that, precisely, but maybe something similar….?
With a great deal of hesitance and confusion, the metallic avian decided to returned his gesture by stepping forward to envelope them in half-hug with one of her wings, looking awkward and out of her depth the whole time even after letting go. She was not sure this was the right response, but if they were looking for some sort of comforting greeting, this was somewhat proper, right?
The monochromatic beast’s blatant flattery did wonders in breaking that awkward atmosphere, however, causing her to openly preen and look self-confidant again.
“Indeed, I am most gloriously radiant, thank you. Kee, was it? I’ll be sure to remember it. Now – “
At this point a bipedal and grim looking dog walked forward and interjected, causing her to sharply focus on him with a mild disapproving glare until they took him in full and shrink back a little. This Pokemon’s rudeness and curtness normally would have irritated Platina, but instead she couldn’t help but find them a bit scary. The Pokemon’s demeanor, their no-nonsense attitude, and their mildly to moderately menacing and familiar appearance…..it was all very nerve wracking to the little birdy. She didn’t let it get to her, however – with a small shake of her head she hardened and looked the warrior in the eyes the best she could unflinchingly.
“*Nods* I am. My unique and splendiferous appearance never fails to draw the eye, as it should. Very magnificent, is it not? But anyway, it is nice to meet you, Sir Kurayami. *Looks between him and Kee, tilting her head* I presume you two are on the same Team? You seem quite familiar with each other, and I did notice you traveled together to meet with me. Or am I wrong?”
Not giving either him or the star eyed racoon a chance to respond, Platina proceeded introduce themselves, striking a most marvelous and Beautiful pose meant to awe and dazzle everyone meeting her!
(….And this is the point where she gives her intro as seen here: https://pokemonuranium.co/forum/showthre...8#pid77168 . Start at ‘My name is Platina,’ and base your responses from there and whatever you want from this post, mates!)
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

Ahaha... Upon being enveloped on that half-hug with one of her wings(!!), Ziggy Kee looses the strength in all his four limbs and slumps down into a furry black-and-white mass right there where he stands, letting out a savoring 'Hummm~' and giving Platina an all delightful thankful smile, obviously showing that it WAS a right response indeed. ~☆ Basically like in that artwork:
(Not mine, source)
"No need t'feel awkward or c'fused, Platina-dear, don't mind me meltin' away from tha soft touch of yar beautiful shiningy feathers...~~ Ya're someone VERY special and unique, an' if there's one thing I value an' treasure, THEN it's indiviuallity. Hehe~" He gives her another kind (probably silly too) smile.

Kee coughs mildly embarassed, then works himself back onto his feet to give off a enthusiastic stance. "Nat wrong, me and K'geki here form Team Omega Seekers, looking for ends and adventure in every way possible!! ( ÒωÓ)و☆" And he's back at that smile BRIMMING of pride. "We've just been 'ssigned an important mission from our Guildmaster, part of it is inquirin' 'bout you. It's wonderful t'see ya bein' up and about again after bein' caught in that nasty storm!"
(Insert the linked intro of hers form a previous post)
"*joyous snickering* Now THAT'S quite a cool quest ya're followin', wantin' to see all of the world' wonder and such... I like that!~" When she looks down to the ground in dismay and quiet anxiousness though, Kee cannot help but to give her a careful comforting pat onto their shoulders. "Huhh... Well, I for mah part am CERTAIN that this 'Dventurers Guild led by Delphox can help ya find out where Ray is an' whether they're - hopefully - safe and sound, 'ndeed! I'm still relatively new here, but from what I've heard so far, this Guild has brought out some nameful an' s'cessful adventurers, never backing off from an opportunity to help those in need. Dat's what I wish t'become too!~" Kee gives Platina a cheerful smile, his glance silently saying that he'll work and train hard on that goal of his. "....Damn, I'd SO wish I could help ya right 'way, but we gotta prepare for tha assigned mission leadin' us to a different continent. And yes, ya need to speak to Delphox first 'ndeed, I do hope she's able t'find some time for ya right away. Really, I bet she's busy as heck..." Coming a bit closer to the metallic avian, Kee whispers to her " Dontcha be put off by her beahviour or apparent strictness when speakin' t'her, k? She DOES come off as blatant and somewhat strict, BUT she's fair and far from rude. 'T, least, that's what I think." He shoots a quick glance at Kogeki, being somewhat sure that he'd disagree if he'd heard.
He coughs. "Speakin' bout these storms...! Tha Guildmaster asked us to... Well, ask ya whether ya heard or saw anythin' bout a very-high ranked Exploration Team from that Grass Continent bein' caught in one of these storms, or soethin' of interest 'bout them and these strange storms? Tha team c'sists of of Gallade, Rhyperior and Roserade 'f that helps ya." (Kee would know that in-chara since when we first met Delphox to be accepted into her Guild, we briefly met Team Raider speaking with Delphox about that mission of inquire about the storms. Correct me if I'm not completely right on that please!)
