Seddi shrugs at the laughter. "You'll have to pardon my skepticism. Old habits and all."
Seeing that the Professor sent a text inquiring about his whereabouts, Seddi won't hesitate to respond with a text of his own. Looks like he'll be escaping getting his ear talked off this time.
Was teleported to a beach outside the city. Met a local who's escorting me back. Will meet you at the embassy building.
Now then, back to business. Seddi pulls out a notebook and starts writing things down while he's chatting with Dodger.
"Rissy, huh? I'll have to remember that. Though as you've probably guessed by now, I'm not exactly an average tourist."
Seddi will hold up his right hand, showing Dodger the symbol on the back of the black glove. "Need to be headed to Bayahama, but more specifically, the embassy there. Got some papers to pick up 'cuz I'm on a bit of a research mission. Course, the beasties around here aren't going to make research of any kind easy if I run into them. Since we seem to have a bit of time on our way back, anything you can tell me about the more unusual dangerous critters around here? Not gonna go lookin' for trouble of course, but forewarned is forearmed. Always good to have information on types, descriptions, move preferences, and the like."
Also of course, he can't spend too long chatting either. He needs to gettin' to the embassy to meet up with the Professor. And if he was conveniently dropped off near the city, maybe the other six individuals he saw are in the area too.
Dodger gives you a easy grin back, seemingly unfazed by your matter of fact attitude.
"Fine by me. Heck, skepticism, pessimism, and a good dose of paranoia is a great thing to have out here in Sutalor's wilds - and perhaps even the cities too, depending where ya are or if She - the Region - just wants to screw with everyone! Wouldn't want to live anywhere else, though - home's home, and I like it all just the way it is, ha!"
You instantly get a short text back from them: 'Understood. We will talk about that later when you are safe. I will await you there. Will try to find out about starting our Project here as well. Text if anything else comes up.'
An eyebrow is quirked at you suddenly taking notes, but your swift explanation and 'showing your hand' causes both the dandy man's brows to spike up as he lets out an impressed whistled.
"You're one of their Aces, no kidding? Well I'll be a Monferno's uncle! Explains the vibe I was getting from ya for sure!"
Your request to get to the Embassy gets a head tilt, and contemplative look appearing on his face as he looks to the sky.
"Huh...so things got Hard Pressed out faster on that Deal than I though. Suits must be really interested in what Dea Dee's cooking..."
Rodger gives his head a quick shake as he finishes thinking to himself and gives you a smile, sticking both hands into his pockets.
"In that case, I can get ya to the City fast as ya want. All we have to do is hike it to my Ride and we can 88 it to Bayhama quick as a Thunderbolt! Shouldn't keep the Suits and Vies waiting if you're on important business, no matter how fun it is to mess with'em! As for giving ya the scoop on these here locals...."
*Rolls* Well I'll be darned!
The groovy dude stops as something catches his eye off to the side, and he immediately holds out an arm to stop you.
"Well, how about we get a closer look at one'em? Follow my lead, and be quiet."
You do as he requested - something about his tone and posture compels you to do so. He was still nonplussed and friendly in his own way, but their was an edge of interest and caution about him.
The two of you carefully creep towards what looks to be a simple circle of rocks. He stops you right at the edge of them, and points to the center of it.
"See it?"
He whispers to you, voice barely audible above the sea's breeze. It took some squinting, but...
Buried in the sand, a couple of glimmer blue horns were poking out. As you focus on them, you could barely feel a *rumble* vibrate from the earth.
*SsssZzzzssS...*
"That? That is a Sand Crawler, and a Shiny one at that. Young'em too and Deeply Asleep, by the looks of it. And if my hunch is right...probably exactly the kind of Mon you're looking to research. After all...well, it's normal enough for us Sutalorians, but for some Rissy familiar with its relatives? They'd think its primal throwback and an outright impossibility."
Well now.
"It's snoozing, but won't be too long now we're here. They can sense vibrations through the sand, and like to dart up and under its prey, stab'em with their stinger, and pumped them full of paralytic 'till they keel over. Got one shot at starting things with it, be it wrangling or tussling. *Turns to you with a Smirk* Willing to show how groovy you are, partner?"
(For reference: you scored extremely good on your Fortune Roll. Preposterously so, given how much Fortune you have right now! Still, fair warning - this is a Tough Encounter, and can turn deadly if you don't do things right...)

Seemingly unfazed by the sudden change of scenery he fills up his water supply in the fountain while inspecting the dratini. There is only so many times a guy can be transported with the entryway disappearing behind him before it becomes just another part of life.
Seems like there is only one way to go, this place looks like a great hiding spot for trouble.
"Come out little guy, I have a task for you.", he exclaimes while sending out Nalu, offering the critter to take a seat on his head. "I want you to look out for anything, being other humans or mons alike. Wouldn't want to get ambushed in this mess and it seems like further in is the only way out..."
Taking a short rest before starting the advance he opens his berry planter, inserting a ritsuko berry to collect later
Taking one last look at his immediate surroundings he puts the device back and sets out to go further in.
1 Unit of Fresh Water gotten! Heal 4 HP, but only outside of Battle! Can also be used in some recipes to increase their quality!
Upon closer look at the Statue, you find that it's actually not attached to the basin at all and it was emitting a steady stream of water.
*Rolls*
From what you can deduce and based on experience, this Dratini Statue is in fact an Artifact of sorts that generates Fresh Water! How convenient! Question is, do you want to take it?
Nalu wriggles with joy at the task and gives you a happy smile, signify its willingness to act as watchout. It'll do a good job defending you, you can bet its barbs on that!
Berry Planted! It'll be ready by Tomorrow 1st Encounter, ideally!
You meander down the trail with your partner firmly on hand, both of you keeping a Keen Eye out for any mischievous or dangerous critters lurking in the dense undergrowth. Aside from hearing some shuffling and spotting some shadows nothing bother you, however - seems like whatever lives here isn't bothering you for the moment. Perhaps they avoid the main path? It is remarkably clear of plants and tracks from other animals...
Eventually, you find yourself in a clearing, filled to the brim with wildflowers of all kinds, lavender and sage, towering sunflowers, and even some bushes of berries (no Battle kinds, sadly)! It creates a rather heady aroma that reminds you heavily of home - heck,, you manage to spot a few Combee, Cutiflies, and Comfey floating around, gathering pollen and nector, before they cotton onto your presence and quickly flee and hide. You could try to find one of them if you try hard enough, however - whether or not you succeed or find something else for your troubles is another matter entirely.
That was not what drew your attention the most, however. No, for in the center of the clearing was what appeared to be an roughly and ancient Stone Arch of some sort, Old Unown runes carved in the aged rock and the ground around and through it a clean dusty pink. Planted in the ground in front of the S.A. was a simple Stone Dias, a circular indent carved in the middle. FYI, you can attempt an Lore/Investigation Check on this, and I'll Roll out the results; alternatively, you can poke around and see if that does anything!
Looking around further, there appeared to be no way clear path out of this clearing at first glance. Maybe there was a way through the tangled brush and trees if you looked hard enough (Roll Required!), but you had a gut feeling that might be far more trouble than it's worth....
What to do, what to do.... This whole thing is reminder you way too much about the Old Ones private little Domains for your comfort, but maybe you can exploit that to your benefit...?
Taking an artifact from a place that might as well be a domain of the old ones wouldn't be very wise, people have perished for doing less to upset them.
While waiting for the next sudden change of scenery he *investigates* the Arch, the unusual colour catching his eye. Does the Dratini artifact have something to do with this perhaps? The pink makes a thought appear, and it's not a nice one. What if this isn't her domain, but one of her far crueler sister?
Either way he has to leave, the constant *warping* is distracting him from his actual goal, making it back to civilization and finding those souls is the priority.
He takes out the bowl again, leaving Nalu to play in the flowers. He'd rather ask for some guidance then tire himself and his partners out trying to force an exit that might not even exist. Surely *she* would know if this place had anything to do with her siblings.

(For reference: you scored extremely good on your Fortune Roll. Preposterously so, given how much Fortune you have right now! Still, fair warning - this is a Tough Encounter, and can turn deadly if you don't do things right...)
Seddi takes particular note of Dodger's comment about a paralytic stinger.
"You're right on the money there, pardner. Let's get wranglin'."
Seddi takes a Nest Ball off of his belt and an Ultra Ball out of his bag. Time to do some quick pre-battle prep while that Sand Crawler is still asleep (emphasis on quick. Seddi reckons he probably isn't gonna get away with very much before this Sand Crawler wakes up).
Seddi lets his Rabsca out to float just above the sand, then gets the Net Ball on his belt ready to throw in case the Ultra Ball doesn't work and things go south.
This Sand Crawler isn't going to know what hit it.
The plan's a simple one: have Rabsca set up a Safeguard just in case, and try to catch the Sand Crawler with the Ultra Ball while it's still Deeply Asleep! If catching it immediately fails, then it'll be Veluza and Rabscas' turn to weaken it.
Safeguard
A: 4 Special + 4 Fight + 3 Channel = 11d6 base
E: Protects from status conditions! No paralytics are immobilizing anyone today!
Ultra Ball!
A: 5 Dex + 4 Fight + 4 Throw = 13d6 base if we're rolling it!
Seal Strength: 6d6 vs SC's Will - ?d6 for being Deeply Asleep! = 6d6 vs ?d6
If Stealth Rolls are needed:
Seddi: 5 Dex + 3 Survival + 3 Stealth = 11d6
Rabsca: 6* Dex (favored terrain!) + 3 Survival + 0 Stealth = 9d6

That's all what's on Bernhard's mind upon being back in the seemingly real world again. And at the weirdest of all places on top of that, for whatever reason. It's by far now suprising them, nor does it rile up any stronger feelings bar some mild fascination and a sense of purpose.
What's by FAR more interesting is that Gemstone! It's a very real evidence that what happened/what was witnessed was very very real indeed. But... Hmm, maybe it indeed was not much of a good idea to work on a Sleep Draught while being semi-sleep-deprived (how the room was comfortably dark, only illuminated by real and fake candles did not help) while also burning incense sticks of white sage. Oh well, lesson learnt, next.
For a little while, Bernhard just remained perched up there, enjoying the view and suprisingly clear air up so high, and turning the Gemstone a little in their dominant Gauntlet'ed hand. 'A stylus of all things?' he pondered, immediately being reminded of... the Scholar. Maybe he does know more, can tell more about this arcane place, or has info Bernhard hasn't yet. 'Noted.' Enough of that for now.
"*cough* You're there and awake, [yet redacted partnermon]?", he speaks quietly into the air, and in response there's a rustle in the wide left sleeve of his fine robe. "What's wrong? You want to hear about my thoughts of new artworks we can create together at last?" ...Was that just the hint of a smile that escaped Bernhard for just a split second before he's back to his kuudere self. "No. But I feel you'd enjoy the view and sense of up here, for 'inspiration' as you'd probably put it. I'd also like to show you something. It also feels...somewhat safe for you to come out a little before I'll have to tuck you away again, but only AFTER I've rendered you invisible. For safety reasons, you know the procedure..
Invisible Spell is casted on her! No roll or Will needed, just our combined Special of 7* (2 mine, 4 hers, +1 Bright Powder Ex Bonus).
..."There you go, Stretch your wings a little, if you desire so. Stay CLOSE to me though, and by all means do NOT let this - " *shows Gemtsone to her* "- stone fall down."
[don't outright reveal said Partnermon just yet please]
As a particular kind of person, heights don't bother you too much - in fact, you find being high up quite relaxing and invigorating. It's suddenly appearing on high and being perched on the edge of potential oblivion and the lack of permission of getting ripped away from your work that bothers you the most. Can't that...It have waited just a little longer, or even asked before carting them off and dropping them here, huh? Bah...
With those soft words and a bit of rustling, you hear a tiny little *Mwrrraaaan....* before a small, fuzzy, and cute lil' head pops right out of your sleave, one paw blearingly rubbing a closed eye.
" *Mrrrrrrr....* 'Up now, 'Erni . *Yaaawning whine* Why'd you wake me up...? 'Told you I wanted to snooze in after 'pleting my latest - and greatest! - masterpiece... "
She perks up a bit as you offer your critique, a smile gracing you as she opened both eyes and opened her mouth to chatter on - before pausing as she suddenly took in her surroundings....
" ....Why's we perched on a roof of a high rise like some birds, ' Enri ? And in Bayhama no less! I mean, yeah, this view is perfect for painting, and the wind's 'nice , but....why?"
You're Spell goes off without a hitch, as it is a old and much practiced on by now. One of your oldest spells, in fact, created by necessity to get people to stop harassing them and their lil' buddy so much, geez...
Once that was done your Partner slips from your robes with an ease long born of familiarity and grace and hovers close, inspecting the Gemstone with a critical gleam in her eyes...
...Before she turns to face you, a look of dumbfounded disbelief plastered all across her own.
"...By Gogh and Picaso how did you end up with something 'like....*Waves hands wildly at the Gemstone* THIS? A bit of Astral Energy, crystalized at that! Only the BIG 'uns are supposed to be able to tap into THAT stuff, 'less make things out of it! *Rubs chin* ...Very fine work too. No imperfection, and plenty of 'Tential in it. Can't tell what all it 'do, but....I can say it's 'possed to lead ya to a.... reunion and choice now? *Shakes head with a frown* 'All's I can get out of it for now, 'Erni ..."
Well well well, looks like you got something that'd impressed your Partner, who has quite the high standards in most everything. This may even pique your old Mentor's interest, if this thing is truly as Special as She claims..
Still, you got a decision to make soon - let this Astral Stone guide you, or ignore it in favor of other stuff? Wouldn't be the first time your whimsy carried you away from a Fate outcome - though you have a feeling this might help answer some questions you have. Old questions.

...Soon, as in 'not now/yet'. Because for now, having ended up up here and being perched on the edge of oblivion already, Bernhard will simply enjoy and make the most of the situation. It's pleasantly quiet and - most importantly - secluded up here, after all. And nicely invigorating, it was a pleasure to have a mild and comforting breeze run through their semi-length black hair indeed. The lack of permission of being ripped away from work and the comfort of their room/lab DID bother 'em, but there's not much sense in being upset for long over things they could not control.
"...Those are a lot of questions from someone who has just been awaken, don't you think?" He bit his tongue to remind her to ' please not call him ''Enri' ', having done so countless times already. Eventually, it's something he - somewhat begrudging, admittedly - has gotten used to. "Questions I have no answer to, either. Questions I'd rather not ponder over now, bar risking meeting to ground FAR below in a way I'd prefer to avoid." Keeping his gaze fixated on something and nothing in the distance, he absent-mindedly scratches her under her chin a little, which in Bernhard's terms is a BIG display of affection already - they may appear serious and cold-hearted towards others, showing little to no emotion on the outside, but being up here with solely the company of [partner-Pokemon] and those two 'Mon he has grown used to use for his Magic; Bernhard felt like he can afford to taw up just a little.
Speaking about those two 'Mon - "Here, have a hold of this - how did you put it, 'Astral Stone'? - for a little. Take a decent and firm hold of it please. If we're being dragged into arcane things without our consent now already, might as well make good use of the opportunity." Said stylus-shaped Astral Stone is given to her tiny paws, while Bernhard himself plucks a Dusk Ball, and with a flash of darkness a Pokemon is summoned to the scene:

Your fluffy partner let's out a giggle at your grousing, not at all deterred by it or the front you put up for others (She knows you best, after all, and what a big softy actually are~), leaning into your touch and letting out a contented *Hmm*
"Oh pish 'n poss, paint'n pots! S'not like ya can't get up and down in a jiff jiff, 'Erni ! If not, I'm always 'ere to catch ya *Pumps a paw-fist!* "
She easily accept the arcane Item, still puzzling over it with an artist' critquing eye, tilting it this way and that as she tries to get an angle both real and metaphorical on the thing. The Stone seems to resonate with her for a second before it settled down - something you noticed but not her, strangely enough.
To add onto the scene of Myra - she also cocks her head inquisitively at her Master and, from what your Insightfulness could pick up, too wants a little affection like what you're giving to your Partner.
*Rolls*
You manage to find one forlorn security camera overlooking the door to the roof and one perched over a ladder to an antenne, and with a whimsical flick of your wrist you set your fiery kit upon them, a task she relishes as she melts them into slag! You probably want to make a getaway sooner rather than later, since if anyone was watching them or had a Alert System you'd almost certainly triggered them by now, but you feel from experience you have time for one last moment before you had to get-gone.
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

As you draw you hand away from the Statue's Head, you feel a *Pop!* in your Hand - looking, you find the Statue's Circular Head Stone fit snuggly in it. Looking back, you could already see it 'grow' another in its place. A feeling of 'satisfaction' and 'permission' wells up from within as you stare at the CHS and then the Statue - you get the feeling you have permission to take this piece of it away.
CHS Got! Acts as either a Mystic Water OR Dragon Fang for your Pokemon, and will Restore 1 Maximum HP (or 10% with a Bulky Mon) after every Battle, or 2 / 20% after the End of the Day if you did not Battle at all.
Getting a closer look at the Arch and all the pink dust around, utilizing what you know about Another of the Old Ones...
*Rolls* + 1 Success
You recognize the dust - it is, in fact, exactly what you feared. You're in a Secret Garden/Realm of the Laughing-Cruel Old One. On the bright side, it seems this one has been long abandoned, going by the sheer wear and tear on the Fa'Ce Gate (The Way Mortal enter and leave these realms...if allowed) and the fact you don't feel any of Her Power or Presence here, not even the fainted lingering grace. Strange...but most Fortunate indeeed!
Taking out the Bowl and asking your patron to assist, helpfully giving some intel on this place to better intice Her Interest...

* YOU ARE WITIN SISTER'S LOST REALM?*
* SEEK THE KEY AND STONE*
** OFFER BLOOD-LIFE OR FORTUNE-BOON TO RETURN TO MORTAL'S WORLD**
** Bring a Citizen Here and Give to Me First**
Huh. Rather straightforwardly helpful of Her, but at the same time you got to pay a 'Fee' for it - looks like you got to Catch one of the Pokemon here and 'give' it to Her as Offering. How are you going about find a Wild Mon? Let Nalu stumble upon one in their merriment, or go about the search in a more coordinated fashion?

Humm. This...resonance of the Astral Stone with her is picked up and noted very thrououghtly, and it instantly reminds Bernhard of something similar that occured in that vision/lucid dream/whatever it was. And knowing Miss Fortune's, Lady Luck's and Father Fate's way from personal experience, it's not there for no reason. Oh joy, looks like he's up to something, which sparks mixed feelings - less time and mindfulness to work on this in their alchemy lab, but also a not-soooo-bad opportunity to expand his horizon a little further. He subsconsiously surpressed his desire to journey in a meaningful manner for far too long, after all. Might be a good idea to get approval from his Mentor before, bar him worrying over their sudden disappearance or - worse - calling for an emergency meeting of the Council.
"Now, hold on for a second - I'd feel it'll be quiiiiiiiiite a while until you'll be able to be so visible again, even with the help of the Item I've requested for you to create and hold." - And with another whismiscal flick of his wrist the Invisible Spell on their partner-Pokemon is lifted, revealing it to be

(Not my art but Popkas' and taken from uranium's wiki, but I certainly will draw her sooner or later anyway.)
Myra, on the other hand, receives no pets or displayed affection - "Fret not, as I have something by far better for you. About time for you to become stronger than ever before, I've held on to your current for for long enough. You have held onto your current form for long enough."Drawn from an inner pocket of Bernhard's fine robe, an A-Grade Firestone is presented, and in an almost ceremonical manner is placed down in front of Myra.
Action: Take the opportunity to save magical energy by rendering partner-Mon visible, as well as eventually evolve Myra. Said A-Grade Firestone will also grant her +1 Special as a suprise. If partnermon want to witness for inspiration, let her, otherwise let her enjoy holding the Astral Stone for now.
