Seddi takes a Nest Ball off of his belt and an Ultra Ball out of his bag.  Time to do some quick pre-battle prep while that Sand Crawler is still asleep (emphasis on quick.  Seddi reckons he probably isn't gonna get away with very much before this Sand Crawler wakes up).

Seddi lets his Rabsca out to float just above the sand, then gets the Net Ball on his belt ready to throw in case the Ultra Ball doesn't work and things go south. 

This Sand Crawler isn't going to know what hit it.

The plan's a simple one: have Rabsca set up a Safeguard just in case, and try to catch the Sand Crawler with the Ultra Ball while it's still Deeply Asleep!  If catching it immediately fails, then it'll be Veluza and Rabscas' turn to weaken it.

Safeguard
A: 4 Special + 4 Fight + 3 Channel = 11d6 base
E: Protects from status conditions!  No paralytics are immobilizing anyone today!

A: 5 Dex + 4 Fight + 4 Throw = 13d6 base if we're rolling it!

"So, ya want to introduce yourself to the creepin Sleepen Crawler you got now, or wait 'till we get back to Bayhama? Probably want to get gone here sooner than later, 'specially with the commotion we caused, but I say we got enough time for a quick meet 'n greet...if you're brave enough for it, that is."

Taking an artifact from a place that might as well be a domain of the old ones wouldn't be very wise, people have perished for doing less to upset them.

While waiting for the next sudden change of scenery he *investigates* the Arch, the unusual colour catching his eye. Does the Dratini artifact have something to do with this perhaps? The pink makes a thought appear, and it's not a nice one. What if this isn't her domain, but one of her far crueler sister? 

Either way he has to leave, the constant *warping* is distracting him from his actual goal, making it back to civilization and finding those souls is the priority. 

He takes out the bowl again, leaving Nalu to play in the flowers. He'd rather ask for some guidance then tire himself and his partners out trying to force an exit that might not even exist. Surely *she* would know if this place had anything to do with her siblings.

As you draw you hand away from the Statue's Head, you feel a *Pop!* in your Hand - looking, you find the Statue's Circular Head Stone fit snuggly in it. Looking back, you could already see it 'grow' another in its place. A feeling of 'satisfaction' and 'permission' wells up from within as you stare at the CHS and then the Statue - you get the feeling you have permission to take this piece of it away. 

CHS Got! Acts as either a Mystic Water OR Dragon Fang for your Pokemon, and will Restore 1 Maximum HP (or 10% with a Bulky Mon) after every Battle, or 2 / 20% after the End of the Day if you did not Battle at all.

Getting a closer look at the Arch and all the pink dust around, utilizing what you know about Another of the Old Ones...

You recognize the dust - it is, in fact, exactly what you feared. You're in a Secret Garden/Realm of the Laughing-Cruel Old One. On the bright side, it seems this one has been long abandoned, going by the sheer wear and tear on the Fa'Ce Gate (The Way Mortal enter and leave these realms...if allowed) and the fact you don't feel any of Her Power or Presence here, not even the fainted lingering grace. Strange...but most Fortunate indeeed!

Taking out the Bowl and asking your patron to assist, helpfully giving some intel on this place to better intice Her Interest...

Huh. Rather straightforwardly helpful of Her, but at the same time you got to pay a 'Fee' for it - looks like you got to Catch one of the Pokemon here and 'give' it to Her as Offering. How are you going about find a Wild Mon? Let Nalu stumble upon one in their merriment, or go about the search in a more coordinated fashion?

An offering she wants and an offering she gets. Nalu may not find one by jollying around but he's sure the little guy can assist in another way, after all he is very *short* in the tall foliage. Before sending the spiky little man on his mission he examines the CHS in his hand, remembering a certain newcomer that still needs some *additions*.

''It's time Ecclesia, I got a gift for you.'', he exclaims while releasing her from her ball, ''It fits you pretty well but I don't want to keep you out here for long. too many faries afoot.''

He hands her the head and recalls her soon after, calling over Nalu instead.

''I have a task for you little one, we need to capture a resident here so this is the perfect opurtunity to sharpen your skills. I want you to find a preferrably fairy to capture, it will get you some combat experience as well.''

He stays a few feet behind Nalu, keeping an eye on him but not following close enough to scare off any unsuspecting bugs.

Humm. This...resonance of the Astral Stone with her is picked up and noted very thrououghtly, and it instantly reminds Bernhard of something similar that occured in that vision/lucid dream/whatever it was. And knowing Miss Fortune's, Lady Luck's and Father Fate's way from personal experience, it's not there for no reason. Oh joy, looks like he's up to something, which sparks mixed feelings - less time and mindfulness to work on this in their alchemy lab, but also a not-soooo-bad opportunity to expand his horizon a little further. He subsconsiously surpressed his desire to journey in a meaningful manner for far too long, after all. Might be a good idea to get approval from his Mentor before, bar him worrying over their sudden disappearance or - worse - calling for an emergency meeting of the Council.

"Now, hold on for a second - I'd feel it'll be quiiiiiiiiite a while until you'll be able to be so visible again, even with the help of the Item I've requested for you to create and hold." - And with another whismiscal flick of his wrist the Invisible Spell on their partner-Pokemon is lifted, revealing it to be

You have held onto your current form for long enough."Drawn from an inner pocket of Bernhard's fine robe, an A-Grade Firestone is presented, and in an almost ceremonical manner is placed down in front of Myra.


Action: Take the opportunity to save magical energy by rendering partner-Mon visible, as well as eventually evolve Myra. Said A-Grade Firestone will also grant her +1 Special as a suprise. If partnermon want to witness for inspiration, let her, otherwise let her enjoy holding the Astral Stone for now.

Your long-burred but ever present desire to roam indeed strongly wells up again, but with age old experience you ignore it. Your auburn kitsune frowns in disappoint at first at the lack of attention - no fair! - but quickly perks up as you tease the possibility of something better. Wait, what is Master planning to give her....?

She lets out a gasp as you reveal the very Rare kind of Fire Stone, her tails going flat with awe and shock at the sight and feel of Pure Warmth and Power emitting from it. She looks down it, and then back up at you, paw raised up in the air in trembling hesistation and barely restrained excitement. This is...for me? Are you sure, Master?

You give a firm nod (and, perhaps, a small, fleeting smile) - yes, this is for you, little fox.

Myra's eyes glisten as little tears of joy bead out, and with a smile she touches the Grade-A Firestone.

In an instant, your fox is enveloped in a aura and cloak of Fire and Energy, the sheer intensity of which threatens to scorch your hide black! You persist, though, weaving a minor spell to direct the heat away - a little Fire Power was not going to stop you from Witnessing Myra's Evolution, a long await event and one of the biggest moments in either of your lives.

How fortunate indeed.  Seddi straightens his hat, dusts himself off, and gives Rabsca a thumbs up.  Excellent support work, as always.

"Let's get a quick look at that critter while we're here.  Already got that Safeguard up, and now that we have a little more time to prepare, I've got some tricks up my sleeve if they decide to cause a ruckus."

Seddi will have Rabsca set up a Reflect before recalling her, then sends out a Goodra!  He'll keep the newly occupied Net Ball handy just in case he needs to recall the Sand Crawler.

"Looks like our research is beginning a little bit earlier than expected, friendo.  Would appreciate it if you'd help pin the critter down should it start causin' trouble, Goodra.  Until then though, let's try and leave a good First Impression.  Try and be friendly, just in case that helps.  Might be a little grumpy that we woke it up from its nap."

Seddi will get out some Leftovers for it to hold and snack on as a peace offering, putting a Sitrus Berry in the pile as a treat for good measure.  If this Sand Crawler's young, then it's likely impressionable.  A rare opportunity when dealing with these types of pokemon.

The friendliest pokemon Seddi's ever met (when they're not Taunted) and some decent food!  What's not to like?

Knowing that this is supposed to be an ancient pokemon, its shiny horns are blue, and its type is Ground and Bug, Seddi has a guess that this pokemon species might supposedly be related to Flygon or Gligar.  Time to see if he's right!

Huh. Rather straightforwardly helpful of Her, but at the same time you got to pay a 'Fee' for it - looks like you got to Catch one of the Pokemon here and 'give' it to Her as Offering. How are you going about find a Wild Mon? Let Nalu stumble upon one in their merriment, or go about the search in a more coordinated fashion?

An offering she wants and an offering she gets. Nalu may not find one by jollying around but he's sure the little guy can assist in another way, after all he is very *short* in the tall foliage. Before sending the spiky little man on his mission he examines the CHS in his hand, remembering a certain newcomer that still needs some *additions*.

He hands her the head and recalls her soon after, calling over Nalu instead.

''I have a task for you little one, we need to capture a resident here so this is the perfect opurtunity to sharpen your skills. I want you to find a preferrably fairy to capture, it will get you some combat experience as well.''

He stays a few feet behind Nalu, keeping an eye on him but not following close enough to scare off any unsuspecting bugs. [/spoiler]

With a *Pop!* and *Flash!* you summoned your most recent capture, who towers over you in all their umbral and sparkling glory. They intently gaze upon you, a little curious and not a little haughty. You hadn't much time to get to know her yet, but she seem rather finely tempered for what she is...if snooty and judgmental. Which, again, is pretty typical for her Typing and Kind of Mon. 

Your offering intrigues her, giving it a curious look before nodding at you and taking it, tucking it away...somewhere where Pokemon keep their Held Items. A fine enough trinket - not enough on its own to impress or delight her, but you got some more good will from her. She swiftly recalled herself the moment you mention Fairies, however - she wants NOTHING to do with those fiends!

Nalu gives you a salute with one of its feelers, before beginning his hunt! He feels a little pity for whatever he can find, but it is what is: you don't deny an Old One their offerings if you want a pleasent existence.

...And their Prayers were answer, as a Florges explodes out from the field of flowers, looking a bit drowsy but none-to-pleased at being so rudely awakened! Nalu manages to automatically take down (Faint) a Cutiefly and bring it to you swiftly before that moment, however - small comforts, though, as the flowery fae turns its baleful gaze upon thee! 

You DARE disturb the sanctity of this Domain so egregiously?! Pay the price for your crimes!!

Drats, the last thing he wanted to see now. At least the right guy for the job is out, even if he currently lacks a way to put his spikes to use and status is looking unreliable for this foe.

...And Myra uses her newly enhanced Psychic/telekinetic prowess to pull you off the edge and force you into a cuddle, nuzzling deeply into your side. Feeling her *Prrrrrrrggggg...* and the warm, toasty feeling she's giving off literally and spiritually....maybe you can allow this brench of conduct this once.

Zephy, for her part, is already in Action, a Sketch Book in hand as she hastily but expertly draws scene after scene of this beautiful moment.

"...You are very welcome. Very so." A mild and fleeting smile does grace Bernhard's face as they...as much as they'd dislike to admit, actually enjoy(!!) and appreciate(!!!) the display of affection of the newly-evolved ninetailed fox. They'd even allow 'emselves a careful display of affection in return, not by 'craddling her head gently' as Zephy requested, but by softly stroking through Myra's shining and warm golden neck fur. In a hesitant and shy manner, but genuinely regardless. Would the Traditionalists among the Scims highly disapprove of such behaviour? Definitely, but they're not here at the moment.

But whow, Bernhard could vividl FEEL how the golden fur is brimming with mystical and arcane power - Yes, all the years holding off for her to evolve, working with Myra during training ever since he got her from a Medium as a small Vulpix with only a single tail, were all the more worth it indeed, and more so. Just got to make sure to collect and keep stray shed fur for Alchemy recipes in the future. And to not overly strain himself and the Gauntlet by channeling all of Myra's new potential at once.

The dear moment soon had to find an ending though, because let's not forget where they were and who they are. Therefor, Myra is recalled into her Dusk Ball again - "There'll be plenty opportunities later on to practice working with your newly-awaked powers; for now, rest up", Zephy is asked to return the Astral Stone at last (which becomes Bern's new Held Item, and is placed into the exact same inner chest pocket of their robe that previously held the Fire Stone) as well as requested to slip into the robe's sleeve again to hide her away from prying eyes (because you don't run around with a vivid Mythic just like that!), and finally - taking a literal and figurative leap of faith, off the edge of the skyscraper's roof they go. Perhaps an act of insanity for the average man to do so without much secound thought, but Bernhard was everything but the average. By far not. Actually, they could not resist to pull of some show/display of power by going down in grace and style, being a Scim of high ranks and all. How used Bayhama's townsfolk is to Scimitars literalls falling from the sky he does not know, but he'll soon find out.

Action: Perform Check for a fall with grace and style please, and I'll sink the remaining 6XP I had from initial XP-distribution into Bern's first point of Perform. Once we're actually down to earth again, see where the Astral Stone 'pulls' them, and decide from there whether to follow it or whether to make haste to the docks in direction Mageocracy to see their former Mentor as well as the other important figure.

How fortunate indeed.  Seddi straightens his hat, dusts himself off, and gives Rabsca a thumbs up.  Excellent support work, as always.

"Let's get a quick look at that critter while we're here.  Already got that Safeguard up, and now that we have a little more time to prepare, I've got some tricks up my sleeve if they decide to cause a ruckus."

Seddi will have Rabsca set up a Reflect before recalling her, then sends out a Goodra!  He'll keep the newly occupied Net Ball handy just in case he needs to recall the Sand Crawler.

"Looks like our research is beginning a little bit earlier than expected, friendo.  Would appreciate it if you'd help pin the critter down should it start causin' trouble, Goodra.  Until then though, let's try and leave a good First Impression.  Try and be friendly, just in case that helps.  Might be a little grumpy that we woke it up from its nap."

Seddi will get out some Leftovers for it to hold and snack on as a peace offering, putting a Sitrus Berry in the pile as a treat for good measure.  If this Sand Crawler's young, then it's likely impressionable.  A rare opportunity when dealing with these types of pokemon.

The friendliest pokemon Seddi's ever met (when they're not Taunted) and some decent food!  What's not to like?

Knowing that this is supposed to be an ancient pokemon, its shiny horns are blue, and its type is Ground and Bug, Seddi has a guess that this pokemon species might supposedly be related to Flygon or Gligar.  Time to see if he's right!

A shudder goes down your spine as an indescrible feeling washes over you. Strangely, it feels as if Lady Luck, Miss Fortunate, and Father Fate has looked upon thee's windfall and decided thus: Great Gains begets Great Burdens. You have a STRONG feeling your next Tough or Dangerous Encounter won't be going nearly so well....

Dodger grin widens at your courageous attitude and simply nods, standing back and off to the side as he lets you do your own thing.

Goodra comes out with a *Plop!* on the ground, and already you feel a great sense of ease and welcome for the sheer FRIENDLY AND POWERFUL PRESENSE!!! they radiate. They look around curious for a moment - Where were they? Weren't they supposed to be with the Professor and on a Boat? - before perking up as you called them over and relied your commands. They give you a smile and smart salute, and then they stand riiiight next to you, ready to greet their newest friend (even if it has to be a bit rough)! 

You lay down your small feast of offerings, and with a deep breath you firm your Will and release the Sand Crawler...



...Revealing a relatively small but ferocious looking bipedal scorbio-bat of some sort. One that bears a rather striking resemblance to a Gligar, only....more primal. Meaner looking. And, judging from those huge honking Vice Grips for claws it Sleepily *CLACKED!* and that long and flexible tail lazily darting about, sharply spike and dripping with venom that sizzled on and harden the sand it hits it....more than deadly.

You were, without a Shadow of a doubt, looking at a Ancient Paradox Gligar.

Ability Revealed: Protosynthesis - Sandy Solid Stabbing! While in a Sandstorm, Increase this Mon's Best stat by + 2, and grant it + 1 DEX and STAB on its Ground Moves! Its Ground Type Attack can also Poison/Paralyze and automatically Burry (Like Dig, happens after Move is Used) it under the Ground/Sand while Sandstorm is Up too (3D6 Each, Both Stack with each Other and can be worsed with repeated Procs), and it Benefits from the Defense Boost that Rock Types get from Sandstorm!!

Learnset Revealed: It's Gligar's, basically! If you have any suggestions for additional Moves that would fit Paradox Gligar, do let me know!

Leaves would tell you this later, so I'll reveal it now: This Paradox Pokemon is capable of Evolution; HOW remains Unown.

Furthermore: As a Young and Small Paradox, it doesn't fully benefit from Sedd's Stats, Skills, and Specialties, only gain 1/2 Bonuses (Rounded Down) from them. On the Bright side, it can (for now) be 'covered' by either Leaves or Goodra while offering to 'cover' + 1 Fortune from another Mon, and isn't tipping you over 12 Fortune Right now due to their being a delay on that.

The ancient looking dirt dweller blerry rubs his eyes, letting out a cute yawn. Zzzzrrrrrmgg....who was disturbing HIM of all Mons - ?

He then notices all of you, and in a blink is on guard, letting out a menacing *ZZZZZSSSSS!* and clanking its pincers menacingly, tails now straight up and rapidly pointing at everyone is it glanced around. Intruder?! Prey that got the jump on HIM?! HOW?!

Then, he feels the Good Vibes Goodra is radiating , and with a *Sniff Sniff* swiftly notices the pile of Food on the ground before it. For a moment he looked....confused about this, before some Instinct of his lead him to train his gaze onto you. A human....offering it a meal? Being so....brave and....welcoming?

Huh...well that was the smoothest experience you ever had with a Paradox (Not counting someone else, of course). Trait Gained: Sand Crawler becomes more docile if Feed Expensive Berries (2 or More, preferably) or its preferred Prey (Live), granting + 1 Loyalty and - 1 Disobedience for 1-3 Encounters after being fed. You lucky son of a gun...
