That's a nice collection of shinies you've got there. But then there's u/pimhazeveld on the subreddit, who's currently working on a shiny living dex, including nuclear shinies...

Still looks like a lot of time and effort went into getting those shinies though, so kudos to you!

That aside, I usually give away any shinies I receive, so their is that. Not that I hate them, its just that someone else would better appreciate them instead of me...

It will take a while, for now my plan is to clean all the bredable one (which is 82 species) and after that, completing the final list of duplicat and legendaries starting from urayne (ho boy, hello soft resets). I too saw Era's thread c: she is incredibly lucky with the amount of SRs she had to do for garlikid xD

I'm most definitely paying for that luck with Urayne soft-resetting right now. It's a hell lot of a tougher time as compared to Garlikid and Actan. Largely because the battle aside, the cutscene is super long and eats up around 10 minutes per reset in total. The rate I can reset is really, really low, thus it's really hurting my odds. Good luck on your own soft reset on Urayne! Keep in mind, tho, Urayne Gamma doesn't (probably, going from the algorithm taken with other encounters) need to be shiny, and your first and only chance to check your Urayne is when giving it a nickname. Pass that takes you to Hall of Fame, where you must soft reset BEFORE then- as it forces a save over and you're stuck with whatever Urayne you got.

Hopefully. I don't even you guys hunting for Yellow-cake Urayne, since its so bloody long and tedious to do so. Then you have to hope it has good IVs and Nature too, if you want to use it competitively at all, so their is that. You guys probably don't care about using the shiny legends you capture in comp. though, right?

Checking its Nature and IVs, then manually inserting a backed up save file if they are not right, though, is a hassle not many will go for a decent Urayne, so good luck to those individuals~!

Perhaps you misunderstood what I was saying. 

First of all, to confirm some doubts, yes; a Shiny Pokemon sprite will show if your pokemon is a Shiny during the nicknaming process. Confirmed from my own experiences with soft resetting and other shiny hunting endeavours.

Secondly, yes, that is the fastest way to confirm your Urayne is a shiny (and possibly your only chance since Hall of Fame forces saves afterwards). And yes, that is indeed my modus operandi thus far during efficientizing Urayne soft resets.

HOWEVER. 

The sequence of the events go like this.

1. Save before Urayne fight right in front of Curie.
2. Bla bla bla I BECOME DEATH
3. Beat Urayne
4. LONG, LONG, LONG, LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNGASS CUTSCENE including:
dad: omg! u beat urayne
theo: Im so touched sniff snivle
Cameron: Why am I here
dad: NO! CURIE IS MY WIFE! IT CAN'T BE TRUE!! NOOOOOOOOOO
bla bla bla curie exposition
dad: did u know!?!? rage 
cameron: lolwut
dad: bla bla bla curie bla bla bla wife bla bla bla
*leaves*
theo: sorry mate
*actan appears*
theo: omg actan we have 2 fite again
cameron: w8 son
*urayne appears*
urayne : hi I is nt hungry now
*urayne flashback bla bla bla *
*flashback ends*
urayne: I want to b frenz
AND THEN! FINALLY! NICKNAME TIME!
5. Pray to god you didn't skip nickname/ mash a too fast and didn't glimpse urayne when it was shown.

As you can see.... 3/4 minutes is impossible. Because dialogue is unskippable. This IS the most efficient way.
